Damn, those Beth guys seem to really have it in for the Chinese. Why aren't there any COmmie Russian invaders? I wonder if they are all butthurt because they all lost at least one IT industry job in the past to a Chinese person or something?

Why would anyone bother fixing it? You might as well buy the engine and start your work from scratch.
Fallout's dead. Deal with it.

IIRC the great war in the Fallout universe was between US and China.

Again? Enclave troopers are true survivors, gotta give them credit for that.

I wonder if you'll be fighting another evil Enclave president as usual.'

The unexpected plot twist Bethesda style - there were three of them! And this time it is the final super sikrit enclave president who are the one behind it all.

Yes, that's the point.

That you think Fallout was invented by Bethesda? :?

D'oh, you're right. They wrote that stuff in back in FOII or earlier. I remember now. The whole shitty Kungfu city etc. You got me there...

Since SPECIAL in Fallout3 is just a front, I suggest modding in a new system to differentiate it from the originals:

Power
Empathy
Resilience
Luck
Mentality
Appeal
Nimbleness

I don't see why wasting precious time improving a mediocre game.

Also Fallout 3 is mediocre and if a big team with a multimillion budget didn't manage to do something more than a mediocre game, I don't know what can amatorial modders accomplish

Mediocre? Give me a break. Compared to FPS, MMOG, JRPG and ARPG shit, FO 3 is quite good.

Or earlier. In FO1 actually. The original game.

It was part of the backstory, but it wasn't featured in the game prominently, so I hope I can be forgiven if I didn't remember that detail.

I actually will agree with you on Beth criticism just because they are recycling instead of coming up with something of their own.
Or actually they are simply ridiculing the lore.

Honestly, whether this is useful or not just depends on how much can be changed with the editor and how many talented people are willing to do it. The game needs a huge overhaul to even be playable in my opinion.

Better off starting from scratch.

Sorry, no mods from me. I'm too busy rewriting Harry Potter. I don't like children's fantasy, turning it into dystopian Sci Fi. It's so awesome that I'll be able to read something more to my tastes in 3-4 years time, makes it well worth the purchase.
I chuckled.

I think I'll try to realize what I described earlier, implementing some form of turn based combat.

Good luck with that. (sincere)

I can forsee the following high level problems:

1) Char system would need to be fixed first, otherwise TB is a bit pointless. I suspect the editor will not have the ability to alter that.

2) NPC AI is not set up for TB, although the AI in the TB Fallouts was pretty dumb too - so maybe not much of an issue.

3) Done via scripting it's likely to be full of hacks and workarounds (from my brief MW modding experience) with the end result being less than smooth and polished.

I have to say though, even just writing these pessimistic points makes me half interested in doing it just for the challenge, so if you do ever get going on this I might help you out with some of the programming/scripting if you like.

Someone already put some of the Oblivion custom dancing animations into Fallout 3.

Even with a editor I suspect most mods will be of this type ...

(note: the comment section of that one is priceless because it demonstrate all that is wrong with moding and current prevailing "interweb" attitudes)

Perhaps FanMadeFallout(FMF) can be released on the FO3 tools?
