If you shoehorn enough unprompted whingeing into this thread, then Wube will surely take notice and add the console platformer-style final UFO boss fight that's clearly missing from this alien combat simulator.
If you are happy with the game as it is, why aren't you busy building endlessly? And then doing the same in Minecraft, Terraria, SimCity, Cities Skylines, Banished, Forts, Transport Tycoon, Farmville, Gnomoria, Timber & Stone, Towns, Miaia, Rimworld, Stonehearth, and the million other dimwit building games with no endgame?
You are genuinly retarded if you hate these games just because there is no endgame.

Apparently behemoth biters can survive getting run over by a train. This is most uncool.

I love some of those games, you are genuinely retarded for not getting my obvious point.

No you, and Blaine, and anyone else who is mad at people who want more than just another building / survival / zombie game.

Describing Factorio as "just another building game" is precisely why we think you're retarded.

The only point you've managed to get across is that 98% of Factorio isn't good enough for you unless Wube adds 2% of your extremely specific personal preferences. Your mental gymnastics and attempts at obfuscation have spectacularly failed to disguise this agenda.

It's a good thing we now have another retard on hand to state the obvious.

Are we missing any retard archetypes or are we full up?

How is it not just another building game? I don't get your second paragraph. 100% of Factorio isn't enough for me because all you do is build endlessly for no reason. It needs some more gameplay, some context, and some development with the aliens they threw in. Just because you people are happy eating a happy meal, doesn't mean everyone else should be.

I'd love to hear the names of some of these just other building games. Seems there's a whole treasure trove of good games I haven't played!

All of the ones you mention have very little to do with factorio in terms of gameplay, at least of the ones I recognize.

I mean, sure, if an automated user bringing goods from point A to B to end up transformed into something else, well basically a lot of them. I think the point is that Factorio throws all pretenses and just ends up being a glorified rube goldberg machine simulator but does it properly.

The thing I find separating factorio from stuff like Anno and Caesar is that you have way more control. In those games, there's various "complex" civilians (such as firemen or wagons) whose behaviour you cannot directly control and who you have to build around. Factorio though, you have full control over just about everything except the aliens. Inserters may work a certain way, but they're very simple, and you can always overwrite their default logic with circuit networks if you feel like it.

It's the difference between managing an anthill and constructing a factory from the ground up. Your factory in factorio demands no resources you didn't construct it to demand, has no functions you did not put in. Compare to say Anno, where people will suddenly demand churches of their own volition.

I may concede they're the same genre, but they stand at pretty much opposite ends.

Terraria otoh, is a whole 'nother genre, and I don't understand how someone can fail to see that.

I don't know about that but it does a decent job and is fun. But I think it could be a lot better with very little effort. The problem is that modern gamers are small minded plebs so devs no longer need to really try.

Knowing the guys behind it, I'd have to be a bit more skeptical, hindsight is 20/20 etc. etc.

Yea. They seem slow as well, that 0.15 update took forever and hardly has anything new in there. I just wish they would take the RTS robots mod and the jet/bomber planes mod and make that part of the base game and do some balancing around that.

I also think the start should have something like Rimworld has with that "Storyteller" thing they have, where you pick from many different difficulties that are clearly defined.

If it had that I'd like it.

I'd hate it if it had a storyteller. worst aspect of rimworld in an otherwise good game.
"it looks like the player is doing too well. let's throw shit at him until he isn't. "

hidden factors that determine the difficulty of the game are the worst. if I sign up for hard, I expect hard. Knowing that having more things increases some invisible wealth variable that determines how much disasters and raids gets thrown at you deincentivises any expansion.

I don't really care about that, I meant the difficulty levels at the start. You can't do that in Factorio because it is just sliders that mean nothing. If you don't pick enough you can play for hours and get bored that there is no challenge. Or if you pick settings that are too harsh, you play for hours and then get overrun.

Browsing some Factorio shit on Steam and saw this

Nice. I should check their forums and see what new crazy shit people have done. I'm expecting someone to have combined the speakers with animations to play a whole film in Factorio at some point.
