I am really sorry, I thought that my joke is dumb enough to not take it seriously.

Ah, my bad. I thought it was another example of the Codex (TM) brand "everything about Fallout 3 is horrible" attitude, which might be dumb if it wasn't so justified.

Wait, vampires?

So? It's not vampires in the mythological sense, it's mentally unstable people who believe they're special. Like that lady on TV who drinks blood because she believes it helps her, she's not a vampire, she's fucking stupid.

And the roach king?

In previous FO it was also easy to gain uber weapons if you knew where to look for them.
Yes true, but remember, anything from the past is always correct, and putting down newer games is a law over here, even if they're wrong (usually).
"Knew where to look for them" is the key part there. You weren't likely to come across any uber weapons after stumbling around an hour or so on your first playthrough. And please don't tell me the writer just happened to be incredibly lucky.

How lame does something have to be before you won't defend it?

It's not lame, but anything different is regarded as lame or bad, so I shouldn't even bother. Why shouldn't weird people such as these be in the game?

At their best, the quests I played directed you toward sites where interesting things were going on. One started out as a "fed ex" quest from Megaton to a remote settlement built on a ruined overpass overlooking the Potomac. When I got there, I found that the settlers were under siege by a group of vampire people. My arrival triggered a far more interesting task: to go find their lair and slaughter them.

How interesting

Ofcourse he wasnt just lucky. Its obvious that FO3 in regards to exploration will be very much alike Oblivion (by that I mean many generic roaming bands of "bandits", so by probability laws some of them will be better equiped than the others and fewer interesting encounters). I can only hope that getting sniper rifle or any other as deadly weapons as it will be sufficently hard. Maybe not by the fact they are rare, but because opponents equiped with them are "deadly".

And the roach king?

The Rat Keeng? The Brain? Harry the Bunny Master?

There are plenty of examples of this kind of silliness in previous sacred cows as well. I could live with some of these things in the previous titles because there weren't too many occurrances.

I hate to defend Bethesda's craptastic FPS-a-like "Fallout" product here, but I think people are barking up the wrong tree calling them out on this. For one, who knows how the reveiwers are interpreting these in-game events. The roach king seems like kind of a stretch, but the supposed "vampire people" could just be some strange cult with some esoteric beliefs (eg. Children of the Cathedral, Church of the Mushroom Cloud) ... it's hard to say how the idiots reviewing the game are interpreting this. The quotes from the articles smack of "Ohcool! FPSFalloutgetsomefragzYEAHSUCKITDOWN!"

"But by far the most structured bit of my wandering was at a town northeast of Vault 101. Upon entering the city limits I found two peculiar figures arguing with one another. One was dressed in an ant suit, flanked by several giant ants, and called herself the AntAgonizer. The other wore a bucket on his head and some metal armor, had several protectron robots at his side, and referred to himself as the Mechanist. After a brief exchange of bitter words, the two flung their minions into battle, and I learned that robots with lasers are pretty good at wiping out giant ants. After the skirmish, the two characters took off."

*sigh* ... maybe I should have read some of the other articles before saying anything.

Few headshots isn't too hard? I mean - using a sniper rifle is not fun as minigun or rocket-launcher because it needs a second or two of concentration and patience. Sniper rifles just doesn't fit in fallout's world. Well, I'm going to use "Atomic Sword with Plazma" anyway.

There was a sniper rifle in Fallout 1 and 2.

EDIT:

Ok I see now that this was meant to be ironic :)

Bethesda has said you can find some good stuff early on, but you won't have a lot of ammo for them and they will be beat up and in poor condition so they are liable to jam/break on you until you can repair them.

I think I'm giving up any hope that bethout 3 will be any fun to play. I though that maybe after a lot of mods removnig all the lulz, level scaling and anything else that's particularly stupid, it could be a fun PA shooter. But now it seems there are so much lulz that if they remove it all the game will be empty.

I get the idea that plot in Fallout 3 doesn't have quite the urgency as in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Hahaha, what? Urgency? You mean the broken premise of Oblivion?

I make a spur-of-the-moment to-do list in my mind. Dad doesn't even crack the top ten.
I admire his ability to praise Bethout for the same qualities Oblivion had while making them sound different by misrepresenting Oblivion.

That's what everybody does. That's the fun. Just going through, whacking stuff, and taking whatever they've got.
Yeah, we got that. Totally fallouty. And not like Oblivion. At all.

Everything I do is right :P But anyway this sect is just like the Children of the Cathedral i.e. fucked up mentalists. The only difference is because this new sect is introduced by Beth, that's all. This sect is the same in terms of weirdness. Nothing wrong with this, if anything the wrong features are in other areas, but not this one.

Actually, the Children had been fuckin' indoctrinated by the muthafuckin' Masta and his mighty psychic powahs. These vampires are just lame though, lawl, they ain't dope.

Why are you even assuming they're "weirdos" and not plain old fashioned vampires (as well-known and overused fantasy creatures) ?
So if you're going to continue to defend this POS at all costs, defend it with facts, not your ASSumptions.
