I'm like 98% sure they plan on making the camp guests full followers. They have full voice acting for a lot of things they can't(or won't normally) encounter.

Tip: you can rename items by inspecting them('X') then right-clicking the name.
This is really useful for managing power armor sets, have multiple chassis and rename them for the parts they have.

It's all voiced.
That's the easy part -
However, the companions, will not be able to follow you everywhere in the world of Fallout 76. "The following part, right now, they are basically going to be in your campsite," said Gardiner. "Or in towns. We have technical limitations there, frankly."

Full game "automatron" would be quite something otherwise. But as it stands they dont really have robotics expertise implemented.

They have full companion AI packages already.

Well, shouldn't that be on the news given what they said previously, and preferably also with silver lining how they move onto factions or something..?

They likely didn't have the time to fully implement them for Wastelanders.
Given how well it has been received compared to the base game, there's a good chance FO76 will end up seeing a lot more updates.

It's quite a fundamental shift in gameplay loop if so I don't think it's planned at all. Automatron was nice though, nice enough it'd warrant an own game with stealthy/mounted protagonist instead of "PA-d".

IIRC they actually said a lot of the DLC is framework for future content. The "Wild Appalachia" DLC had a lot of stuff added over the next weeks. Makes sense to spoonfeed the players so they keep paying Todd 10 bucks a month.

First thing they should do now is rebalance the reputation rewards tho. Now that the Norfleet types have grinded it to maximum, turns out that a lot of the stuff is actually crap. :decline:
Considering the hard cap of 200 bullions per day, getting 30 from each of the 3 dailies and.. 30 (?) from the the larger events it takes a LOT of effort to buy the fancy stuff.
Only to realize that the well (max settlers rep) is pretty much just a water pump, and the ammo press (max raiders rep) does not make 2mm EC. The ONE ammo you need to feed all the gauss weapons. Also no fuel or cryo ammo, not even that to make it decent.

The plasma caster is pretty good tho. And the gauss minigun is so overpowered it will probably get nerfed. Fast. Great weapon if you like spending more time farming ammo resources than firing it. :hahano:

Better stock up on legendary modules tho, you NEED them to build those weapons. And AFAIK you cannot trade them or turn them into scrip. And don't forget to sacrifice your firstborn to RNGesus unless you want to hoard nocturnal gauss miniguns.

OK, I can see how this game has potential, but the encumbrance system is terrible.

You should be able to buy a mule, or even a mule train, and keep them outside 'dungeons'.

Limiting fast travel because you're encumbered is one of those cases where a single feature can destroy a game's potential entirely.

That mule is called "Fallout 1st" and costs 10 bucks/month. That scrapbox on my pic in Rusty's camp is an accountwide storebox with unlimited capacity. Why give players for free what everyone really needs? :argh:

And don't forget the excavator PA gives +100 extra carrying capacity. Good enough to travel.

There's a lot of carrying capacity/weight reduction perks. Surviving at all is pretty difficult at the start, which is part of why it's fun.

I heard that we are getting pets in the game, probably a Dogmeat type of companion first before full blown human companion.

As for the mule, my friend and i have a simple system, his CAMP is the one where we go to craft shit and just chill around and farm food.

While my camp is the "mule" you could call it it consists of a shitshack of 4 walls, inside you find a stash box, a workshop to scrap a random banjo we use while the other scraps.

After stealing everything, i put down my camp, scrap everything, put it in the box and then go and sell the good stuff off and repeat putting my camp after a lot of looting.

No offense, but when I heard that guy the first time, I thought "what a shitty VA is that, it sounds hillarious". But then you said it's an authentic 100% steel pittsburger.... :?

Look mum, I learned something from the internets! :obviously:

I assume you're referring to Derrick? Derrick's style of speech is the closest(e.g., "the house needs swept",) but his accent is all wrong. He sounds like a Canadian.
I don't think this is a mistake and is actually story-related, probably something only people from the area would notice. I assume he picked up the manner of speech from living in The Pitt but his accent is from where he grew up.

logged in, turned around and super mutants are fighting an albino deathclaw
FO76 feels a lot more livelier than FO3 & 4

I thought it was a bug or something since i found along the river 3 radtoads fighting several irradiated radstags while 2 Yao Gai joined the fight, it was a clusterfuck of enemies biting and kicking each other for no reason at all, i wasn't sure if this was a feature or a bug.
