Quite the contrary. Steam releases are easy to crack and they preload it right onto your computer for you, pirates don't even have to go to the trouble of appropriating one from the production line in order to have a cracked version out weeks before release. I think there are a lot of people that assume steam = unpiratable, though, and that means they don't even bother checking if sites have it.

Yes, it's actually quite easy to pirate Steam games. What bothers is the need to install it and have it running (on offline mode, but meh), I guess.

What if the Steam-Service is deactivated and you want to install the game again after years?

Valve says all the games on steam will be stripped of all DRM if that happens, but it hasn't happened so who knows. By the time Steam goes down forever New Vegas will be $2.99
Do you seriously believe that bullshit :?:

I see some butthurt there. I had never problems with Steam and it's the only DRM I kindly accept because it also helps (I lost my CDs of Half-Life 2, if not Steam I couldn't play it anymore)

****man(n) is a typical jewish surname because jews only used to have one name in certain regions. Until antisemites couldn't even live with that small difference and decided to dish out surnames. Often ****mann, sometimes Israel, etc. Seriously, for a bunch of fucked up racist antisemites you guy sure know little about the minority you like to bash.

Anyway, ****mann is not neccessarily jewish, there's plenty of non-jewish ****manns in Germany (and presumably other European countries with nordic roots).

Norse are watered down inbreds with a weird homoerotic thing going on, what with all the beards, rituals and helmets with horns.

lolwut, beards = homoerotic, I don't even know what rituals you're talking about. Also, we never had horned helmets

And as people have pointed out, MAN is swedish, MANN is german. I know swedish, so trust me.
Most Manns became Mans after emigrating to the US.
A North American called ****man can have all sorts of roots...

Now could we get back to whatever this thread was supposed to be about? *g*

More like abandonware. If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on Valve being around longer than Bethesda/Obsidien.

Anyway, all this shit that gets flung around every time someone mentions Steam is a load of crap.

Ok this doesn't sound good.

Anyone know how Valve's new DRM will work?

Yeah, you activate once when you install and then never have to worry about it again. Unlike GFWL this process functions.

You can play on as many machines as you want as steam uses accounts.

If you buy a physical copy you can download a digital version for free to skip the disc check.

Anybody who complains about them switching from GFWL to Steam is a fucking idiot.

qft, Steam is one of the few DRM systems that doesn't hurt legitimate customers, I've never had a problem for the 4 years I've used it.

It probably annoys the hell out of pirates, hence the butthurt.

Merida, again
Imagine meeting someone named Manlove. I bet that will be funny.

I see the thread is turning into another STEAM bashing one. Boring. STEAM is DRM bullshit and anyone who uses STEAM is a homo. End of story. Can we talk about something else now?

Fallout 3 isn't Fallout; franchise rape, Pete Hines, Oblivion with Guns, horse armor.

First the Total War guys, then Firaxis with Civ5 and now Bethesda and/or Obsidian too?

How many companies will turn to Steam next? Will it ever end?

Nope. Why should they? For devs it's a great distribution system, and they probably truly believe that it helps against pirates. It's a widely accepted DRM measure that scares a lot less people off than, say, Starforce. Valve might even offer very low licence fees for big companies, since big names in their portfolio attract new users that are then subject to their advertising and spy/porn-delete-ware.
What do the devs/publishers care about their customer's porn? It's not like anybody would have the guts to sue them for it.
