He called the game a "step backward for the genre", citing a bad interface, quest restrictions, and numerous other problems upon release. GameTrailers continued the criticism with a very similar score of 4.2/10. They commented that the game "falls flat at almost every turn." Rory Manion of GameSpy rated the game 2 out of 5 stars. Charles Onyett of IGN rated it 5.5/10.

Ha! I never play MMO's really, save for two about 7 or 8 years back, and the only one I might play is Cain's upcoming one.

So, Square finally screwed the pooch big time. This has been long coming, with a massive decline in their games ever since ff7 came out. Then there's the 50 or 60 mil they wasted on that Final Fantasy movie, then there was FF8, which was shit, and slowly, over time, their player base began to erode as their gamers simply "grew up" while the games did not.

Between this one and FF11 ? Certainly, better graphics, thats all. Interface was worse, no not just worse, it was a fucking nightmare, and i can take punishment, camera in drakensang or nwn2 doesnt bother me the slightest for example. In FF14 you litteraly fight agaisnt the interface every 5 sec.
I said the graphic are better... but the world seems lifeless and dull , zero immersion since you cant even walk everywhere ,a small hill , a slope, no you cant cross, there's like invisible walls everywhere, imposible to jump, a small barrier will block you.
I am not even speaking of the content yet, it has less than a free to play korean mmorpg.Fetch this, kill 10X , the quests are the very same.Thres nothing positive to say about this game, it even have heavy hardware recomendations.
