Ah, I see. I remember it was a pretty neat game back in the day. A bit of a mediocre shooter, but the companion management was great. Sadly my disk isn't working and it doesn't seem to be on sale anywhere.

Well, I'll vote for it on GOG anyway.

JudasIscariot , what are the chances you can submit a request for GOG to try and work out a deal with the publishers of The Thing to try and get it on GOG? It doesn't seem like you can really buy it anywhere at the moment.

IIRC, The Thing is a game based on the movie, right? Well, movie licensed properties are very tough to get, unfortunately :(
And besides the guys at GOG are hard at work to get the Majesty licence. :P

Sorry if I annoy you with this Judas. :P

You're not annoying me at all, really :)

Besides, I have a hunch that if we ever do get Majesty, you'll find another game as your "please get this" game :) Which is totally cool in my book :D

You are remembering wrong. The "companion management" was its big selling point, but it was about as basic as in Opposing Force. And as a shooter it was terribru

The DRM-Free Revolution Continues with Big Pre-Orders and Launch Day Releases!

Good news! GOG.com is going to bring you more fantastic launch day releases, preorders, and other exciting new content from some of our favorite developers. We've lined up 3 big titles that we will be bringing to GOG.com in the next couple of months for sale or preorder that we think will be hits with all of our gamers; and we have more equally exciting games coming up soon.

If you've been a member of the site for a long time, you may recall that when we launched sales of The Witcher 2 on GOG.com, we had to add in regional pricing. The game cost different amounts in in the US, the UK, the European Union, and Australia. We're doing something like that once again in order to bring you new titles from fantastic bigger studios. Since we don't accept currencies other than USD on GOG.com right now, we'll be charging the equivalent of the local price in USD for these titles. We wish that we could offer these games at flat prices everywhere in the world, but the decision on pricing is always in our partners' hands, and regional pricing is becoming the standard around the globe. We're doing this because we believe that there's no better way to accomplish our overall goals for DRM-Free gaming and GOG.com. We need more games, devs, and publishers on board to make DRM-Free gaming something that's standard for all of the gaming world!

That brings with it more good news, though! As mentioned, we have three games we're launching soon with regional pricing--two RPGs and a strategy game--and while we can't tell you what they are yet because breaking an NDA has more severe penalties than just getting a noogie, we're confident that you'll be as excited about these games as we are. For a limited time, we will be offering anyone who pre-orders or buys one of them a free game from a selection as a gift from GOG.com, just like we did for The Witcher 2.

If you have any questions, hit us up in the comments below and we'll be happy to answer (to the best of our ability).

I hope there will be better prices for East Europe.
I'm worrying after recent changes in GreenManGaming - the only DD shop with decent prices for EE, when they switch currency for Eastern Europe from dorrars to ... pounds (sic).
Dat hurt. Really.

What two RPGs could these be?

Wonder if one of them is South Park.

South Park uses Steamworks right (like Fallout: New Vegas)?
Age of Wonders 3 maybe.
Probably Dark Souls 2 lol, and some other European games.

Some publisher on GOG forum said about Summoner release in February. That one and Risen from other info (patch lifting DRM).
My bet on 3rd is Age of Wonder 3.

From 2 years ago:

I don't think GOG had much of a choice here. It's harder to secure the rights for old games buried under legal confusion, and their indie catalog regularly gets undercut by indie bundles. The next avenue is to try and offer other new releases outside of indies, but they can't convince publishers to agree to flat worldwide pricing on these titles.

As long as it doesn't affect other games in the catalog, and it doesn't affect upcoming releases of old games, then I think it will be okay. Essentially, it's like they're offering additional games on top of the regularly scheduled ones.

Note that GOG lets you specify where in the world you're from for the purposes of regional pricing, and will take your word for it. Personally I became American, as far as GOG is concerned, when they introduced regional pissing. Because it's cheaper than being an honest European. Silly as hell, but also Yet Another way GOG is superior to Steam.

JudasIscariot I'm confused about something:

If all those votes for Rogue Spear could be combined, would it be more likely to get added to GOG's catalog?

I wonder how much influence the wishlist has. Or is it just a way to divert people so they don't make a thread about every game each week in the forums.
