As a Mod of this forum I demand that you - for acting like one of those GOG clowns - absolve yourself by committing seppuku. Deuce Traveler will be your kaishakunin.Well, the screen shots led me astray. My point still stands though.

Supporting ALL distros is pretty much impossible (since there are gazillions) so I think it was more an excuse than a serious goal.Had to happen eventually. Still, originally they said they wanted to support ALL linux distros instead of a few ones (was said a while back), but if they work on Mint or Ubuntu then they can work on other distros. Chances are, if you run something else, you have the know-how to make the games work no problem on your/other distros too anyway.
Even Steam has no guarantees it works on every distro, but it mostly does anyway.
With a complex program, like a game, it's not just the kernel that's relied about upon, but countless 3rd party libraries.Linux support is usually expressed in the form of kernel version (eg 2.6), but since there's a 99.9% chance it will work on Debian, it won't be an issue for me.
they announce linux support to cover up for this shit, I guessWhat is this shit? GOG now doing pre-order exclusive content?

Wut?I thought they were just going to emulate the ones that don't already have native Linux clients.
Lol. "I took a glance at the screenshots and here's my opinion on the game". We should invite that guy here. He's already hereWell, the screen shots led me astray.
They have to be sure that the libraries their program(s) depend on will be on the system and work the way they expect. So you can't just have depend kernel version >= 2.6. That's why they target specific distros, and only promise that they'll run on those.
The package manager has to have the needed packages. Which isn't guaranteed. Which is why they only official support certain distros. That's what package managers are for.
Finally!
What the fuck? Wasn't stuff like that always a part of the deal when buying from GOG ?What is this shit? GOG now doing pre-order exclusive content?
