Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
It's a solid adventure game, it has a nice fairytale-like story and the graphics are very beautiful. Puzzles are rather easy though so if you play adventure games for the puzzling it might be a bit too easy for you.

How is Book of Unwritten Tales, BTW? I remember seeing it a while back and being vaguely interested, but I haven't really heard anything since then.

IMHO it is a very decent modern Adventure Game with OK English translation. I personally enjoyed it. Your mileage may vary.

Cool, thanks. From what I recall, we have similar tastes in adventure games, so that's good to hear. Will look into it when I finish with King's Bounty: The Legend; I've had a yen for a good adventure game lately, and most recent releases I've tried have been rather disappointing.

Please GOG, don't do this to me. You are killing my wallet. I really don't have any more spare money. I don't want my credit card to suffer further.

GOG got me too. I double-dipped during their 5 games for $10 sale and purchased Trine, Torchlight, Uplink, Blackwell Bundle, To the Moon, Unmechanical, Symphony, Machinarium, Space Chem and Gemini Rue.

My little ones are enjoying Unmechanical, Machinarium and Symphony already. I don't know when I'll clear my current backlog of games in order to dive into them myself. Darn you GOG!

Kodex Kommon Konsensus on the Spellforce series?
Only played the first one. It's nothing to write home about.

The RPG elements are on a Diablo like level, meaning that there are quite a number of skills and builds that you can mix and match, although some builds are way more efficient than other. There's a lot of questing to be done which has you moving throughout the game world, which is basically a series of floating islands connected through portals and teleporter stones. I liked the fact that most of the quests aren't solvable on the spot on the same map, but have you follow breadcrumb trails through several maps. No C&C obviously.

The strategy part is also not very indepth. There are 6 races and lots of units to choose from and there's variety to be had as well. Unfortunately the control interface is by far the worst part. There are no commands such as hold ground, patrol and the formations option doesn't really work. Coupled that with a non-active pause feature and fights become a veritable clusterfuck. The worst offender is the inability to tell units to stop automatically using their spells, which means that a lot of times all of the healers will try to heal one of their cammarades which lost 1 hit point AT THE SAME TIME. Anyway, with a good main character build (I suggest light blades and curses) you can solo most of the maps. As always having more units than the enemy means almost assured vicotry.

I personally had fun with it up until the end of the game when the maps became a major pain with dozens upon dozens of strong enemies which kept spawning and which stood between you and your objective. It's one of those games that you kinda had fun with but you can't honestly recommend it to others. For 4 bucks it could be worth it depending on your mood and your tolerance for average-ness.

They do a poor/shallow job with both RTS and RPG elements. Not worth it.

I think there is a demo out, so give that a look. I tried it for a couple of hours but it wasn't my thing. It's more of a CnC game than an RPG, as stated above.

Looks very interesting. I wonder how it plays.
