I've been keeping an eye on that Starship Troopers RTS for a while. It looks good and a GOG release makes it day one.

Are updates broken again? The offline installers are for the new versions (in fact there have been a few versions between the last i downloaded!) yet the games aren't in the Updated list :-/

Actually the official patchnotes from the publisher phrase that they "have been restored to their original console version aesthetic." They made a trailer for this update, which you can see a comparison.



Not sure that's an improvement. You probably can say they're censored. Maybe people played on consoles complained that they look different?

Sadly it seems the installer is broken and doesn't copy some necessary DLLs (there is a batch file that is supposed to do that but it is broken)... and interestingly enough the missing DLL is from "Microsoft Reality Lab", which existed for a very brief time between Microsoft acquiring the company that made it and rebranding it as Direct3D Retained Mode in DirectX 2. None of the old DirectX SDKs i have (checked some prerelease version of 1 up to DirectX 3) contain the DLL so it was probably part of a separate SDK.

In any case, i found a workaround and posted it on GOG forums, hopefully they'll fix it. I'll also contact their support.

Weird pricing for Witchavens

All builds are running on DOSBox with a custom configuration tool.
The Enhanced builds feature fixes introduced in EGwhaven, a must-have community project, which addresses an array of bugs and issues with the both games (we'd like to thank ETTiNGRiNDER for the contribution to this release).
Additionally, the controls are re-mapped to what you'd expect to see as a default in a first-person game nowadays.
