Ultima 4 was first, wasn't it? Thought it was part of that EA promo thing (free)? After that it was in release order though.

And while U4 is still part of the second trilogy, it is still available by itself for free. If they release the Wizardry games, my guess is that they'll release Wiz7 for compatibility reasons and maybe WizGold with it for the sake of completeness. They did release the new and old version of Broken Sword together in the same package after all, even adding these new versions later for those who already bought the games.

WizGold has some bad bugs as I recall. I don't seem them fixing that when they could just do the DOS version.

I don't remember where exactly I read that, I'm pretty sure it was a quote from someone at the IP holder saying they only had the rights to VI and beyond.

Nice of them for having orchestrated this with a Japanese company, still. It's finally going to be easy to legally purchase these games.

mindx2 It likely won't be Gold since GOG always prefer DOS versions of mid-90s games that had dual OS compatibility.

they could probably release both, gold as an extra. Ultimate wizardry archives had them both.

Heroes of might and magic II gold has the windows version as a download option in the extras.

And I hopoe they include all of them. (1-5 as a free download).

Of course. It's comfy. I'm on my couch with graph paper and a pen right next to me. It's not much different from the original interface.

As a matter of fact, I don't. I know about your handicap and some of your opinions on games but that's about it.

I was never into Wizardries too much, but I was in the belief that Wiz 8 is good. Why tha uproar about GOG selling Wiz8 instead of the previous ones?

Not only is the Gold edition pretty buggy and performs worse, but also received a totally unnecessary audio/visual overhaul. The music is abysmal and all the character portraits have been replaced with some anime-inspired artwork (which sparks a desire to find whoever thought it was a good idea in order to put him over a knee and spank him for days). The marginal improvements (like the minimap) simply aren't worth the effort of suffering through this version as far as I'm concerned, GOG would do the right thing by sticking to the DOS one.

Wouldn't the right thing be to give us both of them like they've done for quite a few other games?
