Of course you could just say "it's legal" and therefore the right course of action
that would be a silly thing to say

They you should stop buying modern games, because in 90% of the cases, the money doesn't go to the original artists. They go to the publisher, who already payed the devs.
so pirating new games is a victimless crime, excellent

As a consumer "vote with your money" point of view, yes, sometimes it's not perfect.
the 'vote with your money' concept is retarded, the tiny group of people that play good games can never outvote the shit collective

It would be great if things could work like this. But as you say, its pretty utopistic.
no, what would be great (and 'utopistic') is a more reasonable copyright law that would make sites like gog pointless

i can almost see it, all those books and films and games and music freely available for anyone and everyone after just a short time ah what a paradise

alas the real world is run by shitlords that would never do anything to diminish their flow of jewgolds

Even greater and more utopistic is a world without any intellectual property laws whatsoever, retarded as they are in the world of internet, but that's for an entirely different debate.

More to the point, GOG servers one worthy purpose, even though original creators aren't getting anything from it. It shows there's still market for old school games, with old school gameplay and even very old school graphics. That not everyone is brainwashed with flashy superficial shit yet. Who knows how many devs of were inspired by GOG's success and the interest in hardcore games and how many modern inclined games were created/are being created.

I guess once we figure out the whole get rid of money and work for a living thing, we can get right at it.

Are programmers, artists and designers organized in unions? Or would that be considered anti-American activities?
Seems all the power is in the hands of the publishers, much more so than in the music and movie industry where the biggest artists and directors have more of a free reign to create what they want.

There is no video game developers union or guild as far as I know. The companies basically prey on peoples interest in working in the industry and it pays well enough that there is little incentive.

White collar jobs typically don't have unions. Unions largely exist to protect employees who can be easily replaced by someone new with little or no training.

Like @tuluse said, gaming companies largely prey on wide-eyed kids who have romantic ideas of creating and designing video games. There's tons of them graduating everyday. As a software developer, if you want to make decent wage and work reasonable hours, stay the fuck away from gaming companies. It's kind of odd really, since the best software development jobs are usually ones where you're creating the actual end product. Then companies' see you as an investment in their product rather than an expense.

Should the cleaning lady for game studios also get a cut of the money for digital distribution? She also helped to make those games possible.

Looks like it's Wizardry 8 based on this ad that popped up on PCGamer.com:

Certainly hope they include 6 & 7 (not Gold!).

mindx2 It likely won't be Gold since GOG always prefer DOS versions of mid-90s games that had dual OS compatibility.

Boo to it being Wiz 8. I would have much preferred to see Wiz 6 and/or 7 instead.

I hope not as that kind of ruins the "trilogy." Also, not being able to transfer your party from one game to the next? If not then your missing out and their gimping these games.
