Can you kill companion???

I think you can piss them off to the point they leave or want to kill you.
But you cant piss them off and kill during companion quest?
I mean you cant just decide you want to throw that companion out, you need get right answers at right dialogue which could take hours if gameplay

Just want to give a quick tip to you that are playing. If you start a companion quest you can't ditch that character. I'm now forced to travel to a region I don't really wanna go to just yet, just so I can complete his quest and get rid of the guy. So be prepared for that when you start a companion quest. Or maybe there is a way to cancel the quest, but I doubt it??
bitch if I start a quest with you I'm not gonna let you ditch me until we finish that shit

Can confirm magic combat is moderately enjoyable, not particularly stimulating kiting, and an excellent way to avoid encountering whatever godforsaken mechanic this game's block/parry involves which is a black box I have no desire to unpack in this janky engine.

Well, I was hoping maybe I could switch to the guy when we get to the city he wants to go to, but nooope. Stuck with him now while exploring. Kinda just expected that to be a thing, since it works like that in every other game from what I can remember.

Yes,but it does make sense. Also pick lockpicking for a creation talent or you won't be able to open chest in the first part of the game.

I'd like to buy the game but first i need to know. Is the enemy respawn as bad as in the technomancer?
There is a respawn, but it seems to be a lot more smoother,i noticed it in cities, don't know about the wild life. The combat is pretty fast i haven't noticed it until i read your post.

I guess it makes sense from a story viewpoint, but when you travel around you go to all these camps where you can switch around companions, but since his quest is activated I can't... and I have several other quests activated at the same time. Just weird mechanic wise. Anyway, it was just a tip. The whole thing put little bit of damper on my autism playthrough, because I have just gone through a whole city, quests and all, and now I'm forced to go another big city. I'm assuming I will be swamped in quests just going through the front gate :)

Yeah,i am at the exact same place in the game :),i get you mate.

EDIT: Also it is not a big city...maybe. The travelling system is weird. You get different place unlocked on the big map depending on what exit you are trying to exit. So use all the exit of a map at least one to unlock all the travelling destinations.

For now I've played around 4 hours and finished about 8 to 10 quests. Most of them are pretty long and has multiple way to finish, overall nothing amazing but at least OK.

However the reward is just experiences and a small amount of gold. For a game with diablo like itemisation, I was expecting they give me at least some equipment, now I'm still wearing some of the gears I get from pre-order.

5 hours in, New Sérène is I believe almost done and I start to stumble upon stuff that guys above mentioned, that is companion quests which start to drag player character around the island. It's especially annoying when paired with a simple fact that in 99% of cases I can't refuse the quest, I just can postpone it (and it sometimes happens 'cause of other characters, not 'cause of my decision). De Retardet is really an ameba when it comes to his agency, he goes around and I guess just does stuff 'cause he's a good boi and likes running errands. Roleplay-wise this game is a desert.

I never played enough of other Spiders’ games to notice one of their most discussed flaws, that is backtracking – I start to see validity of complaints ‘bout that right now. One really has to run the same places a lot to do quests, and in that case game counts on its plot to hook player in. Said plot is, to be frank and consistent with previous statements, bland and typical. I reached the first native village, Vígnámri, and it just so happens to confirm my theory as to how natives will be written: Ullan, Vígnámri chieftain, wants to trade with the settlers and learn from them, while commenting ‘bout other leaders who want to just fight them. It’s at least realistic.

What’s not realistic is all these native characters who are clearly Negroid in phenotype calling my Aryan boi “local looking”. Devs should have been smarter.

EDIT: I'll hold my opinion that exploring the setting feels mostly like Witcher 2 and more like Gothic, despite important differences, than Inquisition.

EDIT2: Stealth was a mistake. It's more than bad, it clearly doesn't work (I mean my pure mage strolls around with C clicked right under peoples' noses and nobody sees him).

Can confirm that 2GB Video RAM isn't gonna cut it at high quality preset, >40 fps in the city. Drop to medium. 4 CPU threads are not enough too.

diablo like itemisation
:?
Spiders never had such an itemisation. They do have a few types of item sets that could get modded later on. They don't have random loot drops, but a predeterment item with some random mods.

The most annoying thing about the game so far is that i can't put markers on the map for places that need X talent to open/explore. Also the lack of minimap is noticeable, the retarded skyrim compass is useless..... as always.

I've just started and in the few combat encounters in the first city the enemies seem to ignore LoS when firing guns.
I picked charisma, but so far it seems useless. Is lock-picking better?

Charisma seems to be the worst talent because it only increases your % chance of passing a charisma check. You don't need to take lockpicking at the start, you can just trade armor with Kurt--his armor has +1 to lockpicking. If you want to have extra dialogue options, take Intuition. Otherwise they all seem to have their uses.

That's why % based skill checks are a mistake. It was bad in Fallout 3 and continues to be trash nowdays..

For talents, the vigor is pretty important for exploring, lockpicking and first level alchemy. Intuition is also nice, but i never used it in dialogues, the persuasion options feel better for me. I would recommend getting lockpicking as a first talent tho,you could miss a lot of loot without it in the prologue part.

Soo a few short thoughts about the game.

The exploration and the level design are pretty good,it reminds me of gothic and other PB games. The combat is solid, but it could become a cluster fuck if there are too many enemies. It is a lot better than retarded tumbling simulator. Writing is....there,i am too early to judge it. The economy is like in all other spider games....non existing in reality. A big negative part of the game i noticed is that the enemies are cell based, but the proximity to the player is fucked/bugged. You end up fighting a bunch of enemy and in mid fight they decide to disengage and run back to their cell, restoring their full health and shield. As a whole i am having good fun with it.

Are there that many +2 locked chests in Selene? Right at the beginning, when Kurt joins your party, you can get +1 lockpicking skill by swapping body armor with him. His suit of armor has an attachment that lets you lockpick. Very useful.

Nah,i forgot about that, they are only +1 chest, didn't find any +2 in the prologue. Did you find any other +1lockpicking item? Those armours are pretty heavy.

Hard to say so far. It's kinda weird, because I assume you can become an enemy of the natives, but I feel a bit railroaded right now where I am. Like I wanted to make contact with them, since it's my job as a diplomat and the prince in charge has some weird fascination for them... but this "first contact" have already turned into a battle where I was forced to take side with the natives. Bit disappointing by that. And the noble native and bad men that came by sea to destroy our trees stick is just so overplayed. My character just seem to nod his head in agreement to it all as well. Not sure how it will turn out or what to make of it right now but on the other hand I got a request from another faction that was having trouble with the natives...

Will it bite me in the ass later on if I stealth kill the guards at the storehouse in the prologue? Provided no one spots me.

There are at least two +2 chests in the prologue.
And there are keys for them then. I managed to open all the chests in the prologue and had only +1 lockpicking.

noble native
Till now i am pretty much liking them the most, all the factions are shit to be honest. Your faction is a bunch merchants filled with niggers, then we have boring zealots that lack anything fabulous that makes religious zealots cool, and them we have a bunch of retarded arab scientists making human experiments. So i am left with the native white supremacists,i am yet to see a black native :incline:. I am pretty sure that i will butcher the retarded arabs....if i get the option!
