There aren't that many codexers who are playing and discussing about the game.

Crafting seems pointless as there's a blacksmith that'll upgrade armor and weapons for a little bit of money to tier 3 right after prologue. Also, it looks like charisma checks are seeded, savescuming doesn't work.

Really? So no point at all??

There could be a point in it to save money and have the convenience of being able to craft when there isn't a blacksmith around to do it for you. I'd probably take it if I was running a heavy weapon warrior type build. Otherwise, the other talents are generally more useful.

I only managed to play a little bit last night and I haven't made up my mind how I feel about it yet. There's a lot to dislike (those teeth... dear god) but also a lot to love. I feel like it's a solid game for the money I paid for it, but the flaws are still very jarring, Still, I'd rather spend 5 minutes in Greedfall than any amount of time in any of the other games that released this month.

It's not overt (if it doesn't get worse), so I don't care, but I had a chuckle when the first companion dialogue you get is about confessing your gay feelings or not.

Imitating Bioware indeed.

It's an odd one because I don't see how "Are you feeling lonely" is an obvious intro "I want to fuck you". I mean, it is quite a fruity thing to say to a guy. But there are literally no other options! I think nearly every person would just click on it without thinking, and one can't help but wonder if this was deliberately designed...

Nothing to get butthurt over, but it's certainly annoying.

After Technomancer, nah, I prefer you guise betatesting for me. So far seems like any other spiders game but that looks AAA enough to not make Biowhores recoil in terror.

It's now very positive (80%).

The first day peak player number is 11,264, much higher than all time peaks of Spiders' previous games (around 1.5K~2.6K), half of that of ELEX.

And it's still the #1 global top seller, above Gears 5.

Second day peak player number, rising, 16,345.

Comparing it with Gothic is stupid Gothic had an open world with a simulated living world where every NCP and monster has a custom day-night circle.
It's definitely closer to the early Witcher games which were inspired by post Baldurs Gate Bioware.

I can't stress enough how much I am enjoying this despite hating Technomancer. People who claim it's just like the older Spiders games are lying.

Yeah, I feel the same, except I didn't hate Technomancer. I just didn't love it. I kind of love Greedfall. It's not just a "production value" thing. Yes, it has similar systems to prior Spiders games, but they are refined and improved greatly.

People are nuts. Everybody whining about how combat is too easy... I put it on Extreme, holy shit, it's tough as fuck, I keep dying over and over.

And yeah, as rusty_shackleford mentioned, I don't get why so many in this thread are trashing the game not having even played it. Play it first, so at least you will have an educated opinion.

Yeah, I just got into my first really tough fight, the one with the vendor's goons in Selene. On Extreme, that fight is tough. Died about 10 times so far. But as I am getting used to the combat system, it seems well designed. You have to do timed parries against melee opponents, but then you also have to dodge at times, because sometimes they come with staggered attacks at once, or keep shooting at you, and then in between, you can get off your own pistol shots at ranged enemies, so the combination of all this is both challenging and fun.

Strap Yourselves In Serpent in the Staglands Shadorwun: Hong Kong Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
So how quickly can you start wielding two-handers? I remember seeing the skill tree let you take that like five points in or something.

Wunderbar is amusing. He is so butthurt from the last time I gave him a mental beating on the forum, he literally follows me around and mentions that Pinwheel thing in every single thread. Keep it up, my good man, your tears are like ambrosia. :)
