Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
what monster use inver x axis? i see people that use invert y time to time, but x?
:what:
What's the difference between inverting y or inverting x?
inverting x is when you move your mouse up, the camera looks down, and move your mouse down the camera move up. ( i never do it with mouse, but have done it with keyboard or controller , especially games with flight)

inverting x axis means if you move left the camera move right and vice versa and the only people who does that is probably a psychopath

also those magic bolts bypass the armor so it's just superior even tho you have mana to watch out for. plus magic blocking is very good so far. it stun, and i find the timing alot easier compared to blocking with melee weapons

Ok, I take back what I said on Page 41. This post should be really helpful for people just starting out because the game is pretty garbage about telling you what everything does especially down deep in the skill trees.

I got a little obsessive compulsive about the various build options because respecs are few and far between and I didn't want to end up with a gimp. So I fought probably a hundred battles in the arena total. I saved right before the fights and then used the respec gem to test out builds.

Here is what I found, YMMV. All these builds were using roughly equal damage gear and armor BTW.

Magic doesn't suck. In the beginning like many many RPGs its a little dodgy and weak primarily because mana is a resource and running out sucks. There is no equivalent stamina bar for melee attacks so you don't run out of 'ammo'.

The 5 basic skill trees basically break down like this:

Blades- Melee multi target weapon. Brutal damage on unarmored opponents, has a sweep attack that gets progressively better. I see no compelling reason to use one handed weapons in this game. They are marginally faster but don't hit nearly as hard and you can't use an off hand weapon or shield. This goes for blunt too.

Blunt- Single target damage king. These weapons hit hard as fuck but are much slower however you needn't strike many times to down someone. They also destroy armor and have big knockdown effect. They mostly are single target however until they very end of the skill tree.

Guns- Very powerful early game, but they level out quickly against the other skills once you have a few levels under your belt. The ranged thing is an obvious advantage but you aren't terribly maneuverable especially with long guns. Pistols suit a quicker play style of course and shoot faster so you can be more mobile. I was also wrong about Anointed weapons working on ranged weapons. Bizarrely the anointed weapons skill tree is buried behind the firearms tree, wtf? Spiders I guess... *shrug*

Traps- I didn't max this tree but it is underwhelming because the area of effect radius is pretty small. Likewise, the same exact things you use to anoint weapons also are used for traps so you are better off just putting that elemental trap on a weapon instead of on the ground. Related, bombs are ok, but an anointed two handed sword was hitting for WAY more damage in the sweep attack then a single bomb could do, because the bomb has a cooldown whereas you can swing the blade around over and over and are applying elemental, stasis, DoT poison, etc to every monster you hit. Nasty shit.

Spells- I take back what I said completely. With a good divine ring and a fully spec'd mage you are an engine of death. Their big "spell" powers aren't great, I stand by that. The PBAOE power is very decent because it has damage and knockdown. (The one dead center bottom of skill tree between Spells / Traps), but the others are pretty lame. But both the magic attacks the shadow bolt and even the melee attack get retardedly powerful if you go deep into the tree. And remember, you TOTALLY ignore armor. So its crazy fucking OP actually when you are firing up guys in heavy plate like they are wearing tissue paper.

With the 'Dishonored' blink power and an unlocked Divine skill line you also get a really fast blink attack and strike off your secondary attack. So what happens is you basically become Nightcrawler. My dude was teleporting around between like 3-5 guys and massacring. I'd use the teleport strike to hit and then immediately blink out w/ the evasion blink. Then again, lather rinse repeat. The shadow bolt I'd throw at targets I wasn't in blink range of. Ugliness ensued. You really need to focus on magic damage ability and magic points ability to make this work though so your other skills will suffer for it. Price you pay to play an X-Man!
How often can you respec?

Here's some non-brown pics for you, Murk. Also just wanted to share some of the great environments in the game.

Also just stumbled upon the Nadaig Magamen fight at level 9 on Extreme. Took him down after a few tries, but :shredder:

People are nuts. Everybody whining about how combat is too easy... I put it on Extreme, holy shit, it's tough as fuck, I keep dying over and over.

And yeah, as rusty_shackleford mentioned, I don't get why so many in this thread are trashing the game not having even played it. Play it first, so at least you will have an educated opinion.

I'm playing on hard, and the difficulty is all over the place. A normal group dies pretty quick, bandits, those weird bear trolls or whatever it is. But bandits with skulls over their head wipes the party within 2 seconds with rifle fire, feels like attacking a raid boss with level ones. But not all normal enemy units are easy though. The flying creatures that poison you. They just chain poison you through armor, and damn, that poison work quick! Then I also met a boss that took all health and armor in one hit, non skull :?

What is a bit odd with the bandit skull units, is that you can fight one group of normal ones, and then 50 meters away another group of bandits will be the Brazilian favela style that shows no mercy :)

It Is just the same. Just substitute up/down with left/right.
What I mean is that it should be not so strange to invert x movement, not more than inverting y movement.

From a technical perspective, sure, but up/down inverting comes from flight sims with sticks, I never heard of people inverting left/right, that sounds more like somebody has a certain kind of brain damage

So how quickly can you start wielding two-handers? I remember seeing the skill tree let you take that like five points in or something.
Maybe level 5-6,if you rescale earlier. So maybe by the end of the prologue.

camps is really needed.
:deathclaw:
What do you mean? You can travel between all the globes and the camps. You have to click the world map place and then select which camp to go to.

All the whining from people that haven't played the game is getting annoying. A good troll once in a while is nice and fun thing,10 retards spamming their trolling at the same time is just tedium.

It's pretty cool that the companions you have with you can sometimes negatively effect your diplomacy/faction relationships. Before I went to meet with the Bridge Alliances Ambassador, Siora warned me that since her people were at war with them, she'd have a difficult maintaining a pleasant demeanor if forced to converse with them. Kurt then urged me to take Vasco instead, but ultimately left the choice up to me. There are a lot of nice details like this spread throughout the game. Also actually really like all the companions and their personal quests so far. A part of me wishes I could play without them following me around, but overall their presence has been welcome.

Hikmet is such a neat city, and has the best music in the game so far.

Game keeps getting better every hour I play it. I'm about 12 hours in at the moment.

I think I made my companions OP by unlocking a heal that also heals the companions. I gave Kurt really good armor, upgraded all his stuff, and now he is a wrecking ball. He massacres everything while I stand around and heal.

Hmm ok,a quick question.

Did you guys managed to get in time to meet the savage queen or was it still only the sister?

Hmm ok,a quick question.

Just the sister for me. I accidentally started down the right path, before quickly realizing it after Siora said something. Ran back to the left path, but I must have triggered some waste of time. I wonder if her Mom can be saved, though. Would drastically change her companion quest if so.

I took the left side, and could only save the sister

The game need to address head bobbing and random shaking.. I had to get it refunded within 30mins because it was causing me massive motion sickness.

Sorry, game developers don't have to cater to every crazy person
Next thing you know they'll want an invert x axis button, the reprobates.

I was probably a bit too much of an asshole there, I read a bit up about it and it seems there are quite a lot of people suffering from motion sickness in 3d games (both FP perspective and over shoulder 3d perspective). I'm still not sure how much of it is real (biological) or just mental , but maybe developers really should include these options.
