That's the main problem that plagues the spiders games, they don't have the budget to make it feel perfect. Once you travel the game a little the amount of copypasted and missing assets is evident.
* Many NPC spam same voice lines constantly desperately trying to make the world seem less dead, especially traders. VA is expensive after all. Ok for the most part, but that native trader in starting city is cancer-inducing, OI ON OL MENAWI!!! They made the companions spam the "use the potions" line for the same reason because there is absolutely zero party banter and without potion lines, you would travel in dead space.
* The are many invisible walls in the game world. Some times they are jarring, in the prologue try to go to the big ship harbor in which you sail later, can't do this, invisible wall at the point of transition to cutscene.
* Governor palace, barracks, taverns are identical, in 3 different cities from 3 different nations. Same with the native's huts but it makes sense here and they are much smaller.
* Trader in the prologue is copypasted to the island colony, he has the same model, same voice lines and yet the game tells you he is here for 2 months (it took you 2 month of travel to get there). Citizen models, in general, are in constant reuse and lack variety.
* There are no extra animations, too costly. Every time the game implies that something needs to happen in dialogue the screen quickly turns to black to hide the lack of anims. There is no sitting animation, screen blackout chars teleport to chairs. Go to the alchemist laboratory, 6 "alchemists" stand in front of alchemical tables doing nothing. At least they are not T-posing.
* The game lacks small details in consequences. For example: mother and father kidnapped their former kid, the father tells you it is because of mother dying from sorrow. Kill the father, take the kid, go back to mother to check her mental state...pointless, not a single line, she just stands there like a piece of furniture. And it is always the same, there is no point to go back and check NPC after your choices, they are all present as soon as you complete the quest, no extra is present.
These are the little things, but they add up. Spiders should restrain their silly ambition, and focus more on details. Lower the price a little, and stop this "inspired by BioWare" nonsense. They don't have the budget, nor the people to properly emulate them.
