I'm playing a necro+occultist on veteran and it's a lot of fun, I have 8 skeletons, a fat zombie, a crow and a dog. Can I somehow get more permanent summons?
Also I find a lot of items with +pet damage but not many with defensive bonuses, mainly just +health. That makes my skeletons squishy glass cannons. Any way to to toughen them up? They mainly die to bosses and elemental DOT attacks.

There is an off hand tome allows you to summon a fire revenant. There are 3 more with permanent summons (ring, amulet and badge) Also a sword with a timed demon summon. The kind of demon which self destructs on death.

Your pets are always going to be squishy in that build. It's better to get +damage and just resummon them when they die.

I'm in the early stages of the game, just levelling up my 'full auto' Purifier character.

Really, that's what he does: Two guns pointed forward, unload onto every nigger in the joint.

It's bliss.

Looks solid, but I'd drop those two Scarab devotion points and stick them into Targos. The percentage health and aether resist > Physique, shield damage blocked. Or even Shieldmaiden, for increased block chance or Dire Bear for the +20 Phys/Cunning.

Are they rare and are they available in the veteran difficulty? I don't think I'll replay the game on the other difficulties. There's also a skill for the fat zombie which makes it allahu akbar after a couple of seconds, but the cooldown is still too long for it to be useful imo.

There is a consolation which adds +50% elemental resistance. Is it a flat 50% damage resistance or a multiplicative +50%?

In this game, always additive.

To use an example: if you have 25% elemental resistance and you gain an additional 50% from new items, you'll end up with 75% resistance.

Anyone else getting crashes after recent updates/DLC? I have an old CT-based Sorcerer that reliably crashes the game now in combat once I start spamming attacks. Not my main dude, but still very annoying.

yeah on my playthrough I had crashes, enough to be noticeable, especially when before the game never crashed

I have not gotten a crash in years.

I hadn't either until this recent update. Now it's like clockwork. Only seems to happen with older characters, though--maybe some bug when updating older equipment that has been changed by a patch?

Do you have to finish the vanilla game to play this new dlc or can you just skip and go straight to dlc?

IIrc you have to beat the first boss, Krieg.
And then you can go to the forgotten gods dlc? Is this done via a portal in the base or something?

There will be an emissary in every settlement whom you can talk to. He will "teleport" you to the new area.

I can confirm that to reach the Forgotten Gods DLC you must speak to 'The Emissary', a new character that appears in Devil's Crossing just by where you start the game, but only after killing Krieg.

Also, no crashes for me so far.

EDIT: Ninja'd.

Aaaaaand done.

DLC was pretty much what I was worried about. More of the same.

I.e. new "ancient evil" who perishes and hints about worse things to come as he dies.

Well O.K. a couple of loose ends get wrapped up, but I can't say they were dealt in a satisfactory manner. Very little reactivity, as usual.

New factions were pretty pointless and the player being bamboozled into doing their dirty work feels very unnatural. Even without reading the hidden lore bombs, the whole jig is pretty obvious, especially if you've read certain fantasy authors.

The so called "gods" were there all the time. You helped them usurp more power, the cunts didn't even have the balls to help you directly. And once you are done, they vanish without even saying thanks.

BTW everyone else in the reoccurring cast is an ascendant god or avatar of a primordial god as well.

If this is the way Grim Dawn ends, I have to say I am disappointed. Just visit Malmö. Everyone is still stuck with the same lines, waiting for the next act of the story.

But as a game it is still fun. And some DLC content is pretty good. Though item wise I got fucked up the arse, didn't even find a single new item that'd beat my current gear.

They are avaible even on normal but you need to get lucky. Most of them even have upgraded higher lvl versions.
I guess I'm not getting them then :D. I did get an artifact which allows me to summon an ice crab tho, so I'm now at 12 summons total.
Also, the map in the new expansion looks much better than base game.

The border of the imaginary
so decided on a vitality Necro+oathkeeper; but without the heretical transmuters of aothkeeper (that is acid focused).
first draft with equips and stuff, although i don't think i can get these equips in like forever.

https://www.grimtools.com/calc/8NKJrA8Z

weakness so far: low Offensive Ability, need to tweak augments and constellations (and maybe a few pieces of equips) to get higher OA without sacrificing resistances.
Also need more HP. more Hp is good.
