I watched 15 minutes of gameplay and got a headache from the sound effects. Do you people turn them off to "enjoy" this masterpiece?
I can't even imagine enduring them for "600" hours.
I have no problems with headaches, must be a bug.

Some people are saying that keys have begun to go out to backers. Can somebody provide proof of this?

Updated to 1.2.0.7 and now my saves don't load anymore, black screen.. Unlike what Cleve said on Steam, it doesn't apply to Sanctuary starting only, cause I started in Shrine. I backed up my save files, but not the game data/exe of the prev version itself, so now I'm stuck waiting for a fix.. ( not that it would have helped, I was stuck in old version too because of the key item crashes ).

With my Editor, DECLINE.

Now that Baxander has turned into a Grimoire fan, I wonder what's next... Zep writing a save game converter utility?

:troll:

Well...possibly. But i'm not gonna do it unless someone gifts me a key (I have no desire to pirate it). I actually got quite burned out with the game in the superdemo just doing the Current Editor.

Does this mean that current saved games are toast and people should restart?

So, 3 weeks ago I have made some comments on Cleve's code and it seems that I was perfectly right.
Cleve made a rant being the best C++ programmer in Australia, yet 2 days after release it's clear that his code is a such a mess that he does not control it and he is trying to fix it in panic.
A few patches to the game are breaking more than fixing. Rushing untested code to production is not something professional programmers do.
And now breaking savegames, ridiculous... :D
20 years in development and he can't finish basic features of the game and class system.
I was butthurt about not getting backer key, now I'm happy I have Wizardry 7 -> 8 game in progress.
Sirtech's Wizardry 8 is one and only successor of Wizardry 7, Grimoire seems to be just a No Man's Sky of blobbers.
Yeah, 3 more years in early access and it may be playable.

I've only been loosely following, outside of crashes, has there been any game breaking bugs so far? (not counting the broken savegame updates)

Try it but it looks like it.

Mines toast and most everyone else says the same but you might get lucky.

Not that ive experienced.

Theres a few bugs and small things here and there but overall 20 hours and ive had only a single crash that didnt repeat.

Just the savegame thing it seems - At least from my experience.

You wouldn't call the balancing issues game-breaking?

Depends- Things like the Bard being able to powerlevel music is only something ive read about since I dont use a Bard so to me- No.

Other things are kind of hard to tell right now- Theres some things I think might be unbalanced but I'm not really far enough into the game to really 'know'- But not gamebreaking for me yet.

I'm not exactly what youre referring to though

Bards are OP enough to tilt the game balance.

Spellcasters getting extra spells affects game balance.

Those are the two balance affecting issues I've run into. Not sure that it "destroys" it, but it tilts things towards easy.

But those aren't "balancing issues" - they are bugs with simple one-line fixes.

Anyone know if there is a way of combining the same type of items?

Think thaumaturges can merge items of the same type in the item workshop, but as far as I know they may be the only ones. You would think that such items would be stackable, but Cleve said that in other games like Wizardry and 'Might and Magic' that things like potions had charges, so he was going to do it that way also, just to be annoying.

I won't get into the politics, but this is the reason why I fully agree with Valve's approach with Steam. There shouldn't be any entity deciding what games are good enough to be sold. Let the customers decide what they're willing to buy, and through content discovery tools, the customer shouldn't (or rarely) even come across the garbage.

GOG is a fantastic storefront, and unlike other competitors to Steam provides real value to their customers, instead of artificial exclusivity or forced clients, but at some point I'd like to see them change their policy on curation.
shit gets drowned by other shit.
your point being?
the reason you don't get good suggestions is that there are none. steam is just one huge steaming pile of shit you keep failing your smell check on. we really can't help you, mate. but do continue bitching, please.

3D is disgusting.

The greatest gift of the world that Grimoire can make is to finally wake people up to the realisation that whether 2D or 3D, computer game artwork has rapidly transitioned from the most beautiful surreal artform you could imagine into soulless, photorealistic Sh*te!!! Play any Amiga game or even BLOOD from Monolith and ask yourself what went wrong in the last 20 years?!?
