Now, the thing I fail to comprehend is, the fat, genocidal doctor showed that it's possible to travel backwards in time, and Jeroen also showed that it's possible to pause or slow down time for some whilst allowing others to move freely. Why couldn't Jenny Quantum just pause time and have Apollo rape Bendix with a wooden plank until his eyes pop out?

It may be a bit too much, but what about one or two snippets from yourself commenting on the strips themselves? Or do you think it wouldn't make it better?

Yea, there's always room for improvement, and it doesn't take an experienced writer for pointing those out most of the time. Brubaker's good, but he's in no way an Alan Moore or a Grant Morrison.

Actually, Authority: Prime would be next and they would fight Bendix again, but I guess the Codex has had enough Super Liberal Crime Squad for now.

Not if Bendix is coming back.

The only god damned reason why I got really pissed off was because they killed him off without having the Authority lose anything of importance. Sure, the Doc got snuffed, but snuffing the Doc is futile since a new one will always come around...

So yeah, continue... I'll give it another chance.

After the destruction of DC, you should've changed the thread title to "Revolution was Televitzed" :smug:

Also, what is it with comics and the complete inability to come up with something NEW. We're actually gonna have to watch them kill Bendix for the FIFTH TIME now?

At least this thread motivated me to start reading V for Vendetta for the sake of balancing the decline here with some incline. And maybe Watchman later.

Actually no, I don't think Bendix showed up again (and for the record, it's the third time now since the single-page bullshit from WildCATs vs Aliens doesn't count).

Also, what happens next was a EVERYTHING IS CHANGED, since the end of the world happens and WildStorm universe goes post-apocalyptic for the rest of its existence.

Authority has the same problem as any superhero comic - nobody fucking dies.

That being said, volume 5 isn't that bad, mainly because

the fags depart from the Authority

and

Jenny Annoying is gone

and

Doctor Andhaira dies

Edit: nevermind, Wildstorm is gone anyway...

So how many issues (roughly) get skipped in this thread.

I mean, they went immediately from "Dat rose thing is ebil! I made her good!" to "Don't touch mah friend Rose" from post to post. I assume there's been a bunch of cringeworthy crap between bendix being dead and bendix being ressurected?

No issues skipped. Though I guess it's story time.

You see, Grant Morrison was supposed to take over The Authority following Revolution, with Gene Ha on the pencils. However, this is where Grant Morrison's multi-tasking ability finally found its limit and he simply couldn't get issues written, so eventually Keith Giffen would be brought over the finish what Grant had started.

Now, the thing here is that volume 4, as it became, started coming out after Prime here, and was so delayed that World's End and all that had managed to happen while it was getting itself up and going, so eventually it would wrap up as the Lost Years album which came out around the second album of the post-World's End series.

Also screw you Haba, the fags are the best in the Authority. Though I agree (as does the entire fandom) that there was much rejoicing when doctor Andhaira died.

EDIT: It also bears mention that the Authority also appeared in the Captain Atom: Armageddon cross-over mini-series that ended in a soft reset (not sure if it actually changed anything).

As for why Grant Morrison was too busy to write the Authority, well around the time he was writing Batman, Seven Soldiers of Victory, planning Final Crisis, writing several Vertigo works of his (IIRC, Kid Eternity and the like), All-Star Superman and so on.

So how many bumps until new page and updates. Will there be lesbian blue-skinned alien chicks?

OK, this is triply weird then. Every time he's killed off for real he manages to come back, but then the one time he does come back they never bother to do anything with him again? :?

I guess it's one of the side effects of rotating writers.

and for the record, it's the third time now since the single-page bullshit from WildCATs vs Aliens doesn't count
Is that the one where Jenny fries him in his recovery home? Because that should totally count since it's mentioned at least a couple of times since then.

Bendix was planned to show up again... (see the end of the issue).

Kaizen Gomorrah gets the same treatment as Bendix. Authority has a constant shortage of enemies (as they tend to kill them).

Pfft. A gay superman and batman. They are both extremely boring characters, especially Apollo. I very much prefer superheroes who have human limitations. But I guess the whole point of the Authority was their superiority and attitude...

But still... v5 #18 -> <3
