Historical Revisionism in Video Game and it's consequences have been a disaster for the human race.

so why do we care what the masses think? people in every circle will have their own lists, like we have here on the codex.
Mass market gets lied to
Builds into a remake for a shitty game
Game gets made instead of a good game being updated
Good game is now buried under crap game and it's crap remake.
Bad game sold so well we get sequels and more remakes for the same series

Gee, who cares what the general public think? I'm not a normalfag like them.. I just think the exact same way all of them do.

One key

I don't know why

Can't find it no matter how hard I try

(Aonuma already apologized)

I've already looked everywhere

Raised the water levels into the stratosphere

Headache makes me feel like vomiting

The enemies are already respawning

(It's under the platform when you walk in)

What bull-shiiiiiiit

All this for a range upgrade

For the hookshot I already ha-aaaaaaaaave

Merida, again
It's a game meant for damn kids, console kids at that. Nintendo has for most of it's history made games and consoles for their fans, fuck everyone else. If you end up liking it and converting good, if not, fuck off.

That's not even remotely true. Nintendo couldn't give a flying fuck about their fans. They would throw them all under the bus in a heart beat.

zelda, mario and metroid all remained strong since the first games on the NES, with some dips in quality here and there. the recent zelda and metroid games where top, don't know the state of mario but I heard good things.

Now lets discuss their biggest franchise and how bad the games have become. Because they "care about the fans"

Nintendo owns only 1/3 of the pokemon company, so I didn't mention it.

Cause you're a dishonest prick who likes to ignore things that don't fit your autism. And Nintendo own more than 1/3rd of the pokemon company and owns part of the development studios involved too.

The last pokemon game I played was Sun for the 3DS and I liked it. It actually got me to watch the Sun and Moon anime for a bit lol

No bullshit Vic. Man to Man, honest opinion. I have never played a game I hated as much as Sun/Moon. It was nothing but hours of slow grindy hand holding story with no character depth or adventure. It's one of the absolute fucking worst games I've ever played... and you fucking liked it.

That was the first pokemon game I played since fire red on the GBA. I played X/Y after that and thought it was boring, but Sun/Moon had a chill island atmosphere. Didn't play any of the DS or newer games.

Perfect example of Nintardedness right here. Nintendrones are genuinely that bad at games they hold the Water Temple up as even slightly difficult lol.

It was the Dark Souls of N64 Zelda dungeons.
surprisingly, I think I did that smoothly in one try but it was the most confusing shit ever. I think I got lucky tbh

but I did get stuck in the fire temple

Nintendo fans are all queers, child molesters, nappy wearers and women.

I remember it being annoying as shit, but not hard. Tedium =/= Difficulty
I just remember breezing through the whole game with almost 0 resistance. In fact all I can remember about that dungeon was that there was a flying boat I think? It certainly had no lasting impact on me like actual hard dungeons like those in games such as The immortal!

I came away hugely disappointed by it, it felt like all the excellent design from earlier entries had gone out the window to pander for younger kids and 3D trends. To be fair though, by the time OOT came around I was a young adult, so that also may have had a lot to do with how I viewed the game and the challenge it offered, as all the other Zelda games I'd played as a pre-teen.

One reason OoT was popular because it was a multi-modal 3D character action environmental puzzler. I remember being blown away you could ride a horse, switch to first person view, and shoot a bow, while riding a horse! I was so blown away by that at the time.

It was also quite lengthy. Now when you play it, that length can be correctly seen as padding, but at the time I remember being very impressed with how expansive it all felt.

I also remember a few years back looking for Japanese made 3D 3rd person character action environmental puzzlers along the same vein as OoT. It was very difficult to find anything. 5th generation there is nothing aside from its sequel. 6th there is ICO.

OoT has good dungeons, the forest temple is my favorite

also story and time traveling mechanic are well done imo, planting a seed in the past and then have a platform to reach a heart container in the future etc.

See I genuinely remember seeing that padding as padding back then, especially when you compared it to far more tighter Zelda-inspired RPG/Adventure games like Landstalker. But you're right, lots of people were wowed by the fact that you could do that stuff regardless.

I agree with this. Hyrule field seemed amazing back then but now it's just a complete waste of time. 5th gen probably has a few games like it and I wouldn't consider ICO to be in the same genre but I get where you're coming from.

If OoT fans were honest they would say Darksiders 1 is superior to OoT in every way. It's the exact same game but more advanced when technology and experience caught up to the ideas. OoT to Darksiders is like Halo 1 to Halo 3 for me. It's the same game but technology allowed them to really use the original idea and get the most out of it. The art style is obviously very different and that's a reason to disagree but everything else Darksiders is just better at.

It is mental how OOT is regarded by tons of people as the best game ever made. Like most early 3D console stuff, it was a step backwards in terms of gameplay and gamecraft as the devs were having to re-learn their trade to some degree, and it's also nowhere near as well rounded or smooth as later games of that ilk either.

Nostalgia & fanboyism at it's peak when OOT gets hailed as "best game ever"

IMO 3D action gaming outside of first person shooters is, for the most part, still a mess. You will never get pixel perfect collision tight gameplay like you do in 2D games without a more or less fixed camera, and the "good" work around has been extremely generous i-frames i.e. spam roll or dodge or whatever and look for openings. The bad work around has been flashing parry cues lol
