I like Halo! It has a great story!

Oh and I second that the ending in Stalker sucked.
It's not even the ending itself, rather how it removed the shroud of mystery and revealed the (so far masterfully concealed) void beneath.

Now they complement Half-Life 2 for it's great story and their awesome cut scenes. What will they do next, call cut scenes dialog?
What. Since when does HL have any cut-scenes?

I do agree with that and I wish the two endings regarding the secret control room never were put into place. I prefer the world of stalker without them, now it feels more matrix like.

As for HL2 I don't feel that the content of the story is actually any good, infact I only enjoyed EP2, but sometimes the story is presented in a neat way, however it gets way too much credit for doing things like placing posters on walls or simply have people tell you what's going on. So there is a lot of uninspired elements there as well.

Yes some elements are uninspired, some elements lack originality, but no one can expect every story to bring inpiration and originality to every page of the script. The thing is that, with story or without it, the kudos go to the devs at Valve for presenting great characters and adding some level of depth to a genre generally lacking in it.
