Lost Vikings was published by Interplay, but developed by Blizzard, just like Warcraft.

Yes.

Though the same is true of other titles, like Descent, which Interplay does own the license for. Or Shiny's Earthworm Jim and MDK, all owned by Interplay.

Guess Blizzard made smarter deals.

Wonder if Interplay still owns Boogerman

After having been brought back to life with Herve Caen's powerful necromancy, and having moved out from Herve's basement to a new office in Orange County, Interplay has set up a new teaser page with pictures from MDK, Earthworm Jim, Dark Alliance and Fallout Online. Given that "Black Isle Studios" is among site keywords, we can expect FOOL and DA3 to be published under these brands.
That's great news!! I just wish they have chosen another series to pimp... FOOL seems like a commercialy sound idea, but conceptually it's disloyal. Just my opinion of course.

Boogerman(which I played back in the old days *sighs*) was released in 94 while FO in 97. That's what you call progress. Todays, 10-11 years later, FOs are still superior to most games .

Bardstale 3 was the first rpg I played. I still have fond memories, though I never made it far - my english was too bad at that time.

It was also the game that taught me the concept of rpg, before I had heard the term but really no clue ( knew about Tass Times in Tonetown but I didnt get what it was then )

In the early nineties there was also talk of Bards Tale 4 - should have been for the Amiga if I think.

In all honesty I have no idea how a modern Bards Tale should look be .. but the Scara Brae topic in itself would warrant an interesting game imo.

Boogerman, now that nostalgia! But considering the way employees were treated at Interplay, do we want them back, I mean really.

Still, you've got to give credit where credit is due. Interplay still operational (although in a somewhat limited form atm) is pretty impressive. I think pretty much that no one expected to hear from this company this much later. Does anyone know who bet the latest date for IPLY to fold all those years ago?

I just want to see Brian Fargo kick Herve's ass.. In the parking lot of Interplay. Not that I really have a dog in that fight after what Fargo did with Bard's Tale, but.. Who else has a reason to show no mercy on Herve more than Fargo?

But seriously, where the hell could Herve hope to find someone that'll cut him a check for developing FOOL these days? He really didn't stand much of a chance after Interplay went comatose.

He found some investors in France.

In the "fallout" universe, New Reno setting is definitely one of the most impressive and dramatic places that the central character encounters on his quest.

Heretic!

What?

He found some investors in France.

To start with.

I think he has more investors now. We'll see.

New Reno just didn't make any sense in a post apocalyptic setting. Four gangs of drug dealers in a big town with no cops would likely wipe each other out until only one remained. Also, there's no need for casino fronts with no cops. Why launder money and such when there's no one checking to see if your drug money is really legitimate income?

If New Reno were actually located within the NCR, it might have made a bit of sense. They'd be hiding their criminal enterprises from the NCR police.

Not to mention that their criminal activities consist of robbing each other and the prostitutes, since there's nobody else in New Reno.

New Reno is awesome. Some of the best role-playing in the series is found there.

New Reno is good in itself and well designed, but doesn't make sense as part of the Fallout setting.

What?
The FO1 vs FO2 discussion - Nu Reno rapes the setting!

I know that, I'm just not sure where that quote is from or why you attributed it to me. I'm fairly sure I never said that.

Sorry if I fail at comprehension, but I took that from http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/album_ ... ic_id=2559 (the link from the news post )

I don't know guys, what's with that FO2 hatin'. Are you anally-retentive or what? FO's are post-apocalyptic, but also post-modern. And don't forget the suspension of disbelief...
