The withdrawal of the Latin army means the defenders of Antioch no longer have the numbers to beat back the Ayyubids.
Will the Georgians be able to hold back the incoming tides of the infidels while the Latins face off against the Seljuks to the north?
The pitched battle between Rum and Latin has only begun, multiple battles stretching across its mountainous territories.
It would seem that the Seljuks is already beaten in the initial skirmish but surrender would not come easy from the Sultan.
But there is very little time for celebration as Antioch is now beset with more enemies than before.
As a larger force lay siege upon the Seljuk fortress, a smaller one split off to assist the Georgians in holding off the 16,000 strong Ayyubids army.
Will we succeed in beating off these infidels?
Alas, God was not with us on that day. Thousands of men perished in the battle of Portella.
Yet the Seljuks grew weaker...
Is everything lost in Antioch?
In Constantinople, the troubled Emperor ponders his next move. Would he bet everything to save Antioch from the infidels? But what if the Byzantines attack now? A messenger arrives to his throne room...
This is just what he needs! An Alliance with Hungary will safeguard Latin Empire from Byzantine attacks. For is it not the husband of the Basilissa the king of Hungary as well?
Upon checking, the Emperor realized that Eirene's vengeance upon his brother, Baldwin, transcends all common sense, she gave up her throne to Arpad's name to secure victory. The future Basileus of Byzantine will no longer be Greek. But that is no concern of his, with this alliance, he felt confidence in committing fully into the saving of Antioch.
Let those who for a long time, have been robbers, now become knights. Let those who have been fighting against their brothers and relatives now fight in a proper way against the barbarians. Let those who have been serving as mercenaries for small pay now obtain the eternal reward. Let those who have been wearing themselves out in both body and soul now work for a double honor. Behold! on this side will be the sorrowful and poor, on that, the rich; on this side, the enemies of the Lord, on that, his friends. Let those who go not put off the journey, but rent their lands and collect money for their expenses; and as soon as winter is over and spring comes, let hem eagerly set out on the way with God as their guide.
More mercenary bands were hired - and fleet raised to sail them across the seas.
As 10,000 strong mercenaries arrive on Beirut, they will await further reinforcements from the Seljuk campaign.
Confident with their numbers, the mercs charge onwards to break the siege of Boutron.
VICTORY! The Sultan of Seljuks surrendered and paid compensation - the exalted Latin army marches proudly back to Antioch where their brothers in faith awaits rescue!
Victory awaits them in Boutron!
Having driven the infidels away from Boutron, the Latin Crusaders march on towards a decisive battle in Tortosa.
Victory to the virtuous! The faithful shall never surrender!
Purge the Infidel from the Holy Lands!
As things beginning to swing towards the defenders of Antioch - the Ayyubids musters another 29,000 men to the shock of the defenders.
Where are they getting all these reinforcements?! The 4000-strong Crusaders laying siege to Akkar were caught off-guard and is unable to escape.
The outnumbered Crusaders were completely wiped out.
It is 8 years after the start of the war for Antioch, there does not seem to be an end..
The Latin Emperor refuses to give Antioch up, he musters more mercenaries and levies into the war.
As a 20,000 strong infidel army renews the siege on Antioch, fresh troops both merc and levies arrive from Constantinople.
Beirut - another clash between the Crusaders and the dreaded infidels.
Flee, demon worshippers!
As the Crusaders gave chase on the fleeing 10,000 army, they were horrified to discover another 17,000 strong army is approaching from the south. The victory at Ba'albek must be postponed.
The retreat was shameful, but our army's utter destruction is more horrifying to contemplate.
When will this war end?
