You're throwing away tons of xp.
?? 2 levels of engineer from building a shack? Who cares?

What it most reminds me of is Ultima Online, the MMO grandaddy whose back-of-the-box precis still reads like a game from the future, despite its age-dictated shonkiness
Ultima Online
Kenshi always made me think of a child’s idea of the perfect game, the one they would design when they’re grown up: “It will be an open world game, see, and also an RPG only you could control dozens of people, like, at the same time when they’re all over the world, and it would have samurai and ninja but also post-apocalyptic so you also get killer robots and electricity and you can give your people cybernetic limbs and go look for lost tech in ancient ruins and also you could play as the robots, and it will also be kinda like an RTS where you build a base and research and put up turrets and mine and grow food and build stuff to sell and there will be many factions that you could fight with or ally with and there will be monsters and doesn’t-it-sound-great-to-you?”
The amazing thing is, this ungodly mishmash of ideas and systems actually works. More than works, actually, it shines. Kenshi is addictive as hell, and in case it wasn’t obvious, one of my favorite games.
It's fine if you don't care, throwing away xp to gain nothing seems like a strange decision though.?? 2 levels of engineer from building a shack? Who cares? You're throwing away tons of xp.

Holy fuck....I might just buy my first game of 2018...
Now she is back to good health, is no longer wanted as an escaped slave, and has stolen and fenced about $10k worth of goods. Next step is to formulate a plan to help my dude escape, and then begin the long journey toward burning the Holy Nation to the ground.
If anyone is just starting out and not sure what to do -- or on the fence about the game because it doesn't have traditional quests or other RPG elements -- hopefully stuff like this shows you what is possible. The stories come out through the gameplay and your creative ability to respond to the dangers and unpredictability of this fantasy world.
As a related note: Being hit in battle is a pain, but guess what raises your Toughness stat to take hits better. My advice to anyone on the fence about the game is don't pigeonhole your character in doing one repeative task before you explored the game world a little bit, it kills the interest. Try new things and take risks. If the many mechanics don't compensate the griding part, the game is not for you.
Shift+right click will automate tasks,I believe. Is there any way to automate resource gathering or do I need to drag every single chunk of copper to my character?

The animations are gruesome and hilarious at the same time. People fighting with an arm dangling, others crawling in agony while they are cowardly hit in the back like a dog, etc. One time I was knocked unconcious and bleeding, left for dead. My luck was that a random medic was crossing by and give me first aid, thus saving my life. I also got one of my characters into a recovering coma state. He need to be picked up and placed in a bed to recover. Shameless entertaining stuff.I bounced off this at first, but it’s strangely addictive. I’ve mostly just been grinding to boost my stats but even getting your ass kicked is fun in this game.
Don't look now but you also got robbed.and a random NPC give me first aid, thus saving my life.
This also happens, but this one only saved my life. He is probably the only altruist soul in the world of Kenshi.Don't look now but you also got robbed.
Emphasis on the repository part. You need that in order to make it work.Which means if you automate a resource and its repository.
Yes, they are!So are leviathans still in, btw?
