I've sent them a mail of advice regarding the quality of language used in the pitch and welcomed them to prestigious codex. Wonder if they'll have the guts. I hope for a final showdown here involving glorious rape of their bullshitting asses.

That Liege game looks pretty cool, I always liked japanese turn-based RPGs but hated the fact most of them used static turns instead of a system with character movement a-la Fire Emblem, so... backed.

In memory of Lestat aka KalosKagathos aka MaroonSkein, I'm posting this here:

Three ex-King of Fighters devs have launched a crowdfunding campaign for a new 2D Fighter, Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm (yes, that's indeed the title):

http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/yatagarasu-attack-on-cataclysm

It's Indiegogo and flexible funding, alas, but so far they've collected about $12k out of the $68k goal so things don't look too bad for them. $10 gets you a digital copy of the game.

It's also the first Japanese video game crowdfunding project that I'm aware of.

Japanese have the weirdest hard on for assassins, all media all assassins forever. Assassin's Guilds. Can't a guy just kill a famous person without having to get a MCSE cert

The game is supposedly patterned on Street Fighter III rather than the KOF system.

So what you're saying is Ubisoft is Japanese (at heart)? :P

Unfortunately I'm not big on fighting games myself, but the game does look solid.

Care to elaborate on the popamole? I haven't really had a chance to examine the game all that thoroughly...

I only watched a video. (a 12 minutes one)

And it looked nothing more than a clickfest with no challenge at all.
Granted it was the first area, but even when surrounded it was a "don't worry be happy".
It could also be that it was a beta version of the game (even though the youtube video timestamp was recent).

Will have to wait for a recent review.

Love that watercolor painting look and my inner weeaboo sense also tingles.... but it looks too much popamole for me :(

You can experience the popamole yourself if you so desire.

Hi there,

I wanted to reach out to you and let you know about LFG & The Fork of Truth, an RPG that is currently being developed by Blind Ferret Entertainment, makers of the legendary webcomic Looking For Group, and Paladin Studios, an independent game developer.

If you’re not familiar with LFGcomic, check it out at http://www.lfgcomic.com

Here’s a brief summary of the project.

----------------------

The Fork of Truth is a 4-player co-op RPG set in the world of Looking For Group.

The Kickstarter campaign has already raised over $100K.

You can view the Kickstarter campaign here: http://pldn.co/fot-ks

Love it, except the characters. Does fixing the portraits mean changing style to something more bearable for heterosexuals westerners? Or they're just making the animu characters more polished and kawaii?

EDIT:
eh shoud have read the kicktarter page before posting:/
Rework the character art. We're looking to hire a character artist to create new characters. We have not decided which style we want to go for yet, but we are leaning toward a gritty cartoon style and away from anime. We'd love to hear your suggestions in the comments!
I hope they go with the 'gritty cartoon' shit all the way then.

"Gritty cartoon" doesn't instill me with confidence either, sounds like latching on to the "OMG DIS IS SO EMO GRIMDARK!"-trend which I hate.
