So Cult looks like it's turned around quite a bit. A few months ago backers were threatening to sue (developer got overwhelmed and stopped communicating for a few months; they thought he ran off with the money). Now he's giving regular updates and just released a build to backers, who are excited about the game again. He also has some new videos up at the Kickstarter page showing off the game. Name's Empyrea now.

A drink that's supposed to have all the nutrients you need to survive.

I can't believe no one asked what it is made of yet.

By the way I Am Zombie should release its kickstarter next week. I will mention it again by then, but I thought some of you people might want to take a look at what is known about it already. It is made by Mark Hein·Hagen, the guy who created the World of Darkness RPGs, like Vampire: The Masquerade. It is also uses cards instead of a character sheet to represent the characters, although it doesn't seem to rely too much on them. In fact, the game claims that people who want to use sheets instead can play just as well. I think it looks interesting, and what little was revealed of it make it look a lot like the old World of Darkness, at least in approach to world building.

almondblight pity he is still delivering pre-alpha tech demos almost a year after his kickstarter closed.

I guess it depends on what you were expecting. It was clear that the project was extremely ambitious and the guy didn't have a whole lot of experience. I wouldn't have been surprised if the whole thing had fallen apart (and it looked like it did for a minute there).

I can't believe no one asked what it is made of yet.

The blog has that information. Nothing terribly surprising. It's like those powdered breakfasts if they weren't made of garbage.

Hey guys! I'm one of the developers! If you have any question, I'd be glad to answer.

I also, want to say Thank You to the guys who already backed us!;)

OK, I got a question for you if you're the dev of Magrunner, hope this is not one of those oft-repeated ones :D

Would you describe to me how you went about designing the puzzle aspect of Magrunner? How difficult was it to design a logical yet not-too-easily-solved puzzle?

Alan Moore and Mitch Jenkins Launch Kickstarter Campaign to Fund Short Film, “His Heavy Heart”
Late last year legendary writer Alan Moore embarked on his first foray into film with director Mitch Jenkins, putting together a series of surreal, neo-noir shorts set in a world called Jimmy's End.
With the first four installments shot, edited, and completed, Moore and Jenkins have launched a Kickstarter campaign to help them finish their vision with the fifth and final chapter, titled, "His Heavy Heart." Starring Siobhan Hewlett (Sherlock, Torchwood) and Darrell D’Silva (RSC, Dirty Pretty Things), the films are meant to serve as a prelude to a planned feature-length picture titled The Show. Click below to watch the trailers for the first installements, "Act of Faith."

Make the Codex Great Again!
Tabletop gaming stuff:
Shaintar: Legends Unleashed - second rulebook for the Shaintar high fantasy setting for Savage Worlds, covering the Heroic and Legendary ranks.
18OE - a 18XX game that the designer calls "a 'monster' game of the genre, more than twice the size of most predecessors." The tier for one boxed copy is going at $179 (EDIT: and that's only for Kwans; Canadian and international backers pay more). There's also a fair bit of activity going on at the game's BGG forums, if anyone's interested.
Trial of the Clone 2: Wrath of the Pacifist - "A science fiction adventure comedy for adults, and the first sequel to the popular gamebook adventure, Trial of the Clone."
Castles and Crusades: Return to the Haunted Highlands - "The C&C Return to the Haunted Highlands includes everything you need to start a game in the Haunted Highlands." Backers can also buy the original C&C Players Handbook and Castle Keepers Guide as add-ons.

And I might as well sneak this one in before Alex does :D
I Am Zombie: Field Manual & RPG - RPG from Mark Rein-Hagen in which player characters are zombies that still retain some of their former humanity. System (Axiom) is similar to Storyteller, but uses cards in place of character sheets (though it allows players to choose the latter if they want)

Yeah, I just hope Tim Cain hasn't changed much since Fallout and Arcanum (since he likes to quote there is more of him in those games than in any other he made)... Tim Cain, with support from Obsidian, could make a glorious Arcanum 2 (since inXile already has Torment). Especially if they prove themselves with PE. Could bring a lot of cash for Arcanum 2 kickstarter (success of PE, since it will prove Obsidian is capable, even bring in some newfags perhaps, as a good game is a good game, no matter what). But Tim Cain should be a project leader IMO.

Brace yourselves for potato grand scam incline as the spiritual heir to precious Arcanum is in for a cashgrab.
Hmm.. this smells like a genuine scam. No website just a gmail address, no identities for the people involved, flexible funding and a promise to return the money if the goal is not met (why not just use fixed funding then?), nothing of substance about the game.

Seems like some Eastern European scammers who have seen the WL2, P:E and T:ToN kickstarers and figured out that old-school rpg fans are willing to spend big on crowdfunding, so they name-drop Arcanum and some other bullshit to try and con people.

It will be interesting to see how much money they manage to collect.

The play will be based on the happy idea of scamming people in the climate of Indiegogo

Well, they already have 1 dolla'.
