General Maxson for the projects I'm interested but haven't pledged (for any reason), I simply add them to my Starred Projects list (click on the remind me button).

By the way, talking about Kicktraq, have you seen the pledged amount per day graph for Expeditions: Conquistador (http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/2128128298/expeditions-conquistador/#chart-daily)?

There's a massive jump in pledged amount over the last 9 days:
dailypledges.png

which is quite unlike anything I have seen in other projects. I wonder what's up with the massive increase in pledged amounts.

The increase is probably caused by the articles(including the one on the 'dex) that recently hit the net.
Initial funding goal for Planetary Annihilation reached: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/659943965/planetary-annihilation-a-next-generation-rts
Onwards to the stretch goals now!

Right now, Kicktracq is estimating that the project is going to reach $1,867,219 http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/659943965/planetary-annihilation-a-next-generation-rts/
I can drop an asteroid on my enemies? SWEET!

There have been other projects with articles and reddit sesions and all kind of publicity going on, but such a massive increase in contribution is quite surprising, at least using the most significant of the projects that I'm tracking as a term of comparison:
http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/inxile/wasteland-2/#chart-daily
http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/stoic/the-banner-saga#chart-daily
http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/1613260297/shadowrun-returns/#chart-daily

http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/69341191/xenonauts#chart-daily
http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/70755535/dead-state-the-zombie-survival-rpg#chart-daily
http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/2066438441/haunts-the-manse-macabre#chart-daily
http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/343838885/nekro#chart-daily
http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/crateentertainment/grim-dawn#chart-daily
http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/leisuresuitlarry/make-leisure-suit-larry-come-again/#chart-daily
http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/sp...ture-by-the-creators-of-space-que#chart-daily

The normal profile seems to be: a lot in the beginning, a lot at the end and not so much in the middle, all the while the pledged amounts and contributor counts graphs are quite tightly coupled. Out of the projects I listed, only Nekro and Haunts don't fit that description: Nekro started weak but gained momentum towards the end, especially because they added the big box reward towards the end, the graphs being tightly coupled though. Haunts ended relatively weak and, on a single day, somewhere in the second half, there was a massive jump in the pledged amount (most likely) due to a contribution from a single contributor.

Most of that goes out the window for Expeditions because the contributor count graph
dailybackers.png

gets disconnected from the pledged amounts graph some 9 days ago. Since then, the pledged amounts per day increased roughly ten-fold.

Yeah the Conquistadores graph is really weird. It's not really a surge in popularity, it's just that some people really pledged a lot or that a lot of people following the project are upping their pledges in order to see it funded. Or developers giving it money in order to get the thing funded? I hope not, but...

Homicide Watch DC launched two years ago as an experiment in online criminal justice reporting. Our question was simple: Could a digital platform for reporting of homicides improve one community’s understanding of violent crime and raise the level of conversation about homicide? After two years, we now know the answer is Yes, and we’re launching a special one-year project within Homicide Watch DC:

A strategy game about designing spaceships and managing a fleet of them. Already funded for the base game singleplayer game (13k/6k), but in stretch goals you've got multiplayer (16k) and a singleplayer campaign... With cutscenes and Randroid plot, at 26k.

Oh and it's made by something called GameMaker, take that as you will.

Also featuring exclusive content for backers, in a multiplayer game.

Incredible. That is by far the best looking and most advanced Game Maker game I've ever seen.
