Music is very important and his work on Icewind Dale was fucking phenomenal, problem?

He is however NOT the single greatest game composer in history. That just made me vomit.

Consortium is an FPS set in space, with adventure and RPG-lite elements, and C&C. Got System Shock 2 and Deus Ex vibes from the video; it also has timed dialogue like TWD. Looks interesting.

I'm fine with hyping up Jeremy Soule (honestly a great catch for an indie), I just want to see some kind of assurance the writing will be good.

Imminent Kickstarter campaign for Evil Hat's Fate Core ruleset (table top gaem). The Kickstarter will be launched next week, but you can see and comments about information, video and rewards. According to the creator, they deliberately chose a long campaign to tweak an improve the rules of the game with backers playtesting during the two month campaign duration.

You'll get instant access to the PDF with the rules the moment you pledge (so they say), even at the $1 level.

More information at Evil Hat's site :advertisingplant:

Yeah, I'm bummed out about that too.
skuphundaku: They added 100 additional slots to this level. Hurry!
Got one! You're a true bro! Thank you! :bro:

Edit: At this rate, I think they'll all be gone in less than 15 minutes. It reminds me of this card deck KS ( http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/encarded/aurum-custom-playing-cards-from-encarded ) which was sold out in something like 4 hours since launch.

Here is a kickstarter for a huge atlas for the Glorantha game world. Glorantha is an old creation by Greg Stafford, the creator of a few famous games and RPGs. Among his credits is the awesome Pendragon game, considered by many the definitive Arthurian game, and Runequest, a realy old RPG that also shares this setting. However, it is not the only game to use it. You guys might have seen it in a few other games, like the Hero Quest RPG (not the board game), the White Bear and Red Moon wargame and the codex favorite, King of Dragon Pass.

Runequest is really an awesome game, with some of the best setting books for sandbox campaigns. Alas, I have never been able to play it much, but the books are full of good ideas and interesting situations and cultures. I think the Glorantha feel is somewhat akin to Morrowind's. At least in that there is a certain sense of realism here, of individual, small communities, sometimes near big cities and other features, each with their own cultures, expectations, needs and economies.

The book itself seems to be system free, simply describing the areas and what kind of things one could find in them. While I don't like this a whole lot, that is the way Glorantha books have been doing it for a while, and Runequest stats for stuff shouldn't be too hard to come up with.

If you want to be a millionaire make a board game

They have spent a lot of time and money building a brand for themselves:

Well the presentation video and the design are pretty cool. It's a very flashy game. They have a lot of things o show (sculptures and art) so maybe that's why this project got a lot of pledges and money.

Actually it seems that it's just a cardboard game thingie on Kickstarter, I am not even sure if one of this projects failed.

lots of ideas, very few substance

I'm starting to wonder that crowdsourcing is getting very crowed, with funds splitting across, and not enough to prevent starvation.

Many of the games look pretty awful though. As long as pledgers are discerning it shouldn't be a problem.
