http://www.smh.com.au/digital-life/tablets/collusion-pen-for-ipad-unusable-20130308-2fpzh.htmlIt promised to be the first gadget to perfect handwriting and drawing on the iPad, but after raising almost $160,000 on Kickstarter, the Australian-made Collusion pen and collaboration software has been labelled "unusable".
Finished months behind schedule, it joins a series of crowd-funded projects that have fallen far short of expectations by failing to deliver what was promised in a reasonable time frame.
http://money.cnn.com/2012/12/18/technology/innovation/kickstarter-ship-delay/index.html?iid=HP_LNA CNNMoney examination of the top 50 most-funded projects on Kickstarter – which collectively raised $US40.3 million from more than 413,000 backers – found 84 per cent missed their target delivery dates. The analysis, published in December 2012, found 15 of them hadn't shipped at all and for those that had shipped the median delay was two months.
I understand that there is much frustration with this project and a lot of uncertainty. I understand and take full responsibility for horrible communication - and often non-communication. For the reasons I will explain in this update, I had hoped to avoid having to go into the full details with everyone publicly, but it is clearly necessary at this point.
One of my former associates has put me in a situation in which a large part of the funds that were specifically earmarked for the Kickstarter Asylum project were diverted to another project without my knowledge, and I have been involved in mediation over the past two months in order to get these funds replaced. In the meantime I have been slowly putting my funds into getting all of the elements of the project created. I expect to be able to begin shipping SOME of the reward elements this coming week, and I am hoping to have all of the Asylum Bicycle decks in and ready to go out by the end of this month. They have been printed - along with a couple hundred decks as overruns - and I am coordinating the full payment and shipping. Like I said, I expect to have possession of all the decks by the end of the month.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/soundself/soundself/?ref=kicktraqSoundSelf is a sensual exploration game about the intrinsic pleasure of playing instead of the rewards of winning. You use your voice to explore a hypnotic world of sounds and visuals that feel like they are emerging directly from your body. Each tone will navigate you through strobing tunnels-of-light, impossible shapes, and into a meditative trance. The result is an elegant symmetry of image, sound and body: an entirely new experience of yourself and your world. Each play-through lasts one extremely intense hour.

It's not up to you to decide what's a good use of crowdfunding or not, backers decide by choosing what to back and what to ignore. As long as it's an honest and realistic project anything is fair.kaizoku: Rewards are terrible, they want to put HW on mobile/tablet, do not want. Buying licences is a pretty awful use of crowdfunding.
Sounds like a scam. They don't have the license, and we don't even know whether current holders want to sell it, nor for how much. And 50k for a licence + development is so unrealistic that it makes those guys look totally incompetent.kaizoku: Rewards are terrible, they want to put HW on mobile/tablet, do not want. This is also their second attempt, they had a flex funding indiegogo that didn't get close to their goal. http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/s...d-homeworld-touch?website_name=save-homeworld
Yaar Podshipnik: Homeworld is actually one of the licences THQ will be auctioning soon.
