WTF

Am desperate for a good ARPG to play that is actually fun, to waste time with and relax after work. I have 1200 hours on Grim Dawn but literally every other game I try in this category sucks for some major reason. Just bought this POS and its melee class literally forces you to play as a fucking nigger WTF? You can't even change your sex or race or anything, you are just a fucking nigger and you have no fucking say about it.....immediately refunded...what a piece of fucking shit.
fucking gold box AD&D games let you change your character skin color and sex, don't 'meh' me about this shit--its unacceptable bullshit and means they are pushing some sort of political bullshit. There is no reason for it, its not like there is some story element built around the character in the game, otherwise I could accept that reason perhaps- but why in a ARPG?

At least let me make my own character, there is no technical reason. I can't even see that there is some way to change the base sex and race identity by paying money which would be the other excuse, that seems to available for sure (such as adding capes and helmets and shit), but its only on top of being a nigger, which does not help, its like adding a nice toasted bun to a warm pile of shit a pig just squeezed out.
The Paladin in Diablo 2 is black too, anon...Maybe it's a nod to that...And that isn't the only melee class, or so I thought (have only seen some videos on it).
mayb
The "class" being preset characters is something that's even in fucking Diablo 1 you cretin.

Stop being some /pol/ retard
its not that way in grim dawn, you can change your sex and character even if its very basic
Grim Dawn confirmed racist for not forcing people to play as black transgender.
that was the other thing that actually made me rage refund the game. I was going to give it a try anyway and I gave my chracter a female name because the black paladin looked female to me..then the Paladin started speaking in the back story before the game begins, and I guess the black paladin is supposed to be male? So I had actually called my 'male' paladin Lisa..it fucking pissed me off then I raged quit and and raged refunded right after...probably did not help that I like 5 shots of liquor before the whole thing started, made me less relaxed about the whole thing.
It is only a matter of time before you also rage quit life.. maybe after 6 shots.
find God before that happens so you stop rage quitting

not going rage quit life because of an ARPG, just wish somebody could make Grim Dawn 2, is that really too much to ask for? I did not even like ARPG before I played Grim Dawn, so I guess if nobody can make another one, oh well..

At last a post of yours in this thread that I can fully support.

:brodex:

Does that mean you approve of their design for the Paladin?

I've been thinking of getting this game lately, but from what I can see itemization and loot are a mess consisting of crafting RNG? Why have this in a single player game? The campaign is also boring?

Itemization, loot and crafting are very well done (or more exactly thought of and started).
Campaign is fine for this genre. Didn't try to hard, takes you to variate zones, I don't remember retard moments.

From what I understand, there are two problems with itemization. One is that most (like 90%) of your power comes from your build, making items trivial, and that progression slows down immensely halfway through the game because the crafting is very RNG-heavy in terms of actually upgrading gear. Are there even super memorable items or is everything simply random that you upgrade/change however you want with the crafting?

As far as I know, uniques and set items barely matter because you get the best items from crafting.

It was a mix of both when I played. Site has all item info though, bases, prefixes, sufixes.
I'm curious where you got your info from because that "90% power comes from build" sounds super wierd.

He is proving game is easy nothing to do with build vs gear. Just look at the difference in damage. Yet another youtuber to ignore.

The game being easy is worse than 90% of your power coming from your build, lol. I honestly can't understand what people like about this game. I'm reading everywhere that the campaign is boring, the endgame is repetitive, the progression slows down extremely once you get all your abilities to level 20, the best items are from crafting and the RNG attached to the crafting is very heavy, the game is very easy, etc. Is it only because you can build your character?

Not sure where you get your information from. Might be a bit dated in some cases, completely wrong in others.

RNG influence in crafting is lighter than in PoE. By a large margin. I guess it's heavier than in games which rely on a deterministic crafting system, but that's, uhh... hardly surprising? I prefer deterministic crafting, but if you insert randomness, you could do much worse than LE.

Campaign is unfinished, but hardly substandard for the genre.

The endgame used to be pretty barebones, but got much better, I guess we'll see what the state at release will be.

This game is under development. Do you really think game being too easy is worse than badly designed systems?
I've played 3 chars (1 to max, others til start of end game). Crafting the builds and experimenting was interesting on all of them. Loot system is solid and crafting is probably best I've seen so far in the genre (except PoE, which is a different beast). That's what I liked about the game.

Your sources seem shit. An early access experience also doesn't seem your cup of tea, considering the questions. So just move along, wait for release and proper reviews?

Isn't this game like 4 years old already? And as I've seen from dev interviews, they don't intend to do anything with or overhaul the monolith system soooo ??

People were desperate for an diablo esque arpg that didn't have the pacing of click one button and the entire screen exploded unless you got one shot first. While wanting something that didn't look like graphical ass.

Only thing I find annoying is that I like to make female hot sorceresses and male edgy necromancers, oh the wonders of gender/appearance locking, why that retardation still exist? Cut a few bucks in development? Should have died with Diablo 1, stop trying to be Diablo II for fucks sake.

Life as a small studio is hard. Guess PoE shouldn't have released with 3 acts and horrible netcode.

Why would they overhaul the monolith system? What's with the wierd passive aggresive hate?

What I'm trying to find out is who is correct because I'm seeing 2 very contradicting responses to this game. Let's take the crafting for example, some people are saying it's super deterministic and "the best crafting system in a hack and slasher" (i.e. better than just PoE whose crafting is purposefully made to be as terrible as possible?), other people are saying it's super RNG-heavy and the only way to get good items because all looted ones are essentially useless. The only consensus seems to be that building your character is cool, but how does it compare to stuff like Titan Quest and Grim Dawn? What I can gather is that this game is about running monoliths 24/7 hoping to find a good base for crafting and then just item editing crafting the best item in the game, but with heavy RNG involved like hoping to not break the item. That doesn't seem very engaging to me or "the best crafting in the genre".
