Nostalgia overload! First RPG I ever played, probably around '95...
I remember thieves being super overpowered? I had some merc thief join, and any time she got a kill she got an (and immediate) turn, or something like that. Might be the "Deadly Strike" skill? I would have some encounters where she would kill every single enemy before anyone else even moved.
Levelling/training is p. cool; paying to go to different trainers, taking time + money, random result (as a kid I abused the fuck out of the save/reload = new result! implementation of levelling and loot generation).
I played the shareware version, there was some passage through mountains or something that was blocked, for the next chapter that was never released... Will be interested to see if there's any extra content in this version.

The game is looking good! I really like the top-down map view. The dungeon exploration screen also looks nice. And that first spell list is awesome.
