Also, for one, the votes for other factions will have relevance to this LP. I won't spoil how, but they will. And finally, as this thread started with a vote, it'll be common for once every couple of updates for choices to be presented again. Like in the end of this one.

Yeah, like declare war on them in the first place :smug:

Fucking Multikult Kodex. Voting for getting mutant force in the FoT LP and here too.

:decline:

In any case I was already taking screenshots for a new update when the mod suddenly crashed. Technical issues because of how this total conversion pushes the HoI2 engine are present, but they could be worse: Obsidian grade bad.

Damn you! I am once again under the spell of Hearts of Iron 2, this time plotting the blitzing of Arroyo as the Enclave!

Making new "friends" and new enemies.

Fallout Mutants Theme

lpddfohuns001.jpg

Both losses and acquisitions of new slaves happen, while once again it becomes necessary to purchase more and more slaves to contain a wave of suicidal nihilism along their meat puppets.

lpddfohuns002.jpg

Research carries on with the focus of improving Transport Capacity. Transport Capacity is the logistical capability of fielding supplies to troops of the Hivemind, and it has been on the red for a long time(Currently it is 36 while the required TC is 82. This give penalties to troops in combat and make them move slowly, which is why it is important to improve it). The glorious army has grown tenfold since 2245, but the infrastructure necessary to properly support it didn't.

lpddfohuns003.jpg

The hordes of undead make a huge mistake, by trying to bite more than what they can chew. Considering they are mindless, it is no surprise. Had they not declared war against the BROtherhood of Diversity, they would stand a real chance of crushing Caesar's Legion. Right now, however, extermination could be their only future. But considering how difficult it has been to take them down, their armies of brain-eating ghouls must be vast.

lpddfohuns004.jpg

Finally another rebellion is put down in Wichita. This time, tired of such insolence, the brutality of the rats reach a new degree not ever thought of before, as they use their mind control capabilities to force the ghouls that were captured alive to mutilate, rape, gouge, torture and kill each other and themselves through the most horrible and painful ways one could imagine. In face of these constant rebellions, it is also decided to keep permanent garrissons in the problematic regions to crush rebels before they could cause damage to the economy of the Under-Nation.

lpddfohuns005.jpg

Against the wishes of the Founder, tales are secretly passed about the mythical Chosen One, and how he shall return to free humanity from the tyranny of the Hivemind and bring a new age of Multikulturalism and diversity to the Wastelands. Some of the rats actually endorse the spread of such tales, for as long as they believe in the second coming of a savior that will in reality never come, they will not fight on their own against the rats and the misery. Let them wallow in their delusions instead of fighting for real things.

lpddfohuns006.jpg

Some of the humans have a particular luck along the Under-Nation. For one, they have welcomed their new rodent overlords and proven themselves too smart and superior to end being given mere menial tasks instead of high positions along the Hivemind. Fat Jeff the old hand is one of them. He eats like a pig and stinks like a rat, so he feels at home with the Rat Council beneath him. He is also quite knowledgeable on old electronics and mechanics and thus assigned to research them deeply.

lpddfohuns007.jpg

While the Founder, having read several old books on economics, begins to create a better economical model for his glorious empire, and with the recent industrial growth, more economical progress happen with the further development of the slavery based economy. Meanwhile, several workings happened to approach the Super-Mutants diplomatically, and the time was coming for a decisive moment in the history of the Under-Nation.

lpddfohuns008.jpg

The moment their first and perhaps last ally would be made. With the mutants to their side, the Under-Nation felt ready to crush a certain enemy that seized their rightful land, the time for war was nigh!

lpddfohuns009.jpg

The Huns won't even know what shall hit them!

lpddfohuns010.jpg

Multiple offensives immediately are launched. The enemy decided to foolishly cover every inch of their large territory with borders to others in soldiers instead of concentrating their armies on the most strategically important areas of theirs, making for easy initial victories.

lpddfohuns011.jpg

The mutants arrive first at Sioux Falls, something that changes slightly the plans of this war. One thing is sure: these fresh new "allies" must not be given the opportunity of growing strong, thus all invasions must happen from Hivemind's territory so that new conquered provinces don't become theirs.

lpddfohuns012.jpg

At least the previous victims of conquest had balls. These Huns are pathetic. The war is just beginning and they already offer everything they have like cowards as a way of getting their wealthy and powerful away from the miserable fate that awaits them. But no, they will be given no quarter! Only the complete surrender and subjugation of everyone living in their territory will end this war. Unless their leaders are willing to kneel before the Rat Council and accept to become slaves, they shall have no mercy!

And with such display of cowardice, only the most inferior, disgusting and unpleasant places shall await them in their future and miserable life of slavery, should they not kill themselves first.

lpddfohuns013.jpg

By October of 2247, the most important cities of the Huns: Rapid City and Miles City, were successfully seized, and victory was only a matter of time now, as they were left with meager industrial capacity. This has been a very quick victory, with the entire conflict deserving the title of Rattzkrieg because of how many of their forces were on the verge of being encircled, and several were already encircled in Omaha. Things were going much better than in all other wars fought by the Under-Nation. Also, because of the supply costs from supplying mutant expeditionary forces, all super-mutants were called back for now.

lpddfohuns015.jpg

However, this expansion has happened way too quickly, and the Rat Council began to suffer in their effort to rule over lands much, much larger and more populated than their original holdings around Rock Springs. However, instead of demotivating the Founder from furthering the goal of world domination, all these setbacks only made his determination stronger, as a new victim would soon be added along the road to the formation of a vast Kwanzanian Empire of Rats.

But the war wasn't over yet. They were almost sure they would won, but they had no idea on how long it would take.

Seriously, this mod is damn addictive. My current campaign as the Enclave has progressed extremely well, with most of the East Coast under my reign, with all provinces garrisoned to avoid marauder bullshit. Do other factions have as many unique events as the Enclave? I'm thinking about trying the Mutant Army next.

From my experience, they do. Some of the minor powers, like the Darien Tribes and the Spiders, might not have as many, but they all seem to get a fair amount of them.

One thing I'm a little disappointed by though is the resurrected Frank Horrigan. Namely that he doesn't have any minister positions, and he isn't that special as a general (thinking in context of a certain someone here).

I have a post-Armageddon vision. We and all other large animals are gone. Rodents emerge as the ultimate post-human scavengers. They gnaw their way through New York, London and Tokyo, digesting spilled larders, ghost supermarkets and human corpses and turning them into new generations of rats and mice, whose racing populations explode out of the cities and into the countryside ... Given enough time, will a species of intelligent, cultivated rats emerge? Will rodent historians and scientists eventually organise careful archaeological digs (gnaws?) through the strata of our long-compacted cities, and reconstruct the peculiar and temporarily tragic circumstances that gave ratkind its big break?

A powderkeg is about to explode.

Music

lpddfohuns016.jpg

The Rattzkrieg continues successful, and now Bismarck is the newest target with the objective of cutting off Dickinson from the territorial body of the Huns, and with it, they will lack any further balls to resist against the glory of the Hivemind.

lpddfohuns017.jpg

The fact most of the enemy forces are made of poorly trained scum and hired guns helped a lot in this war. Their lack of a real army has proved to be their demise, as the time of total victory draws near every day. The enemy fails, in spite of their much larger numbers than those of all enemies the Under-Nation has made before, and the warlords cheer over their great victories.

lpddfohuns018.jpg

For the Huns lost their Dickinson. They lost everything, and would soon be completely subjugated. The Under-Nation was slowly climbing to become one of the greatest powers of the Wastelands, and their plans for world domination were going successful and unimpeded, even without any direct aid of the Super Mutants in this war.

lpddfohuns019.jpg

Meanwhile, the Founder continues to improve the economy of his powerful empire. Slowly introducing a regulated currency of bottle caps to replace the ad-hoc one that existed before. In every possible means, they progressed. But how far could they reach? Dreams of a vast empire emerged, beyond the sky.

lpddfohuns020.jpg

Unfortunately, with all rats concentrated on the war efforts, an entire village of manboons succeed at escaping from such miserable existence. The Founder makes it very clear what to do about them: EXTERMINATE and make them die in horrible sufferring. Thus the hunts began.

lpddfohuns021.jpg

Unfortunately, knowing what awaited them, the escapees made a desperate, suicidal last stand, screaming that one day, one day the rats shall be exterminated from Earth and that they will die for mankind as hundreds of explosives detonated, killing countless slaves and rats alike. This wasn't good. Hopefully it wouldn't trigger a domino effect.

lpddfohuns022.jpg

The military is slowly becoming more and more professionalized now, as the year of 2248 begins. The war that started in the last months of the previous years wasn't over yet, but would be won. Soon the Under-Nation would also border Gecko, which they have been in a state of war against for two years, that would now cease to be a phony war, opening a fresh new victim for conquest.

lpddfohuns023.jpg

The core of the Huns within Amerikwa is conquered. The remnants of their scum retreat towards Vancouver and Canada for their last stand.

lpddfohuns024.jpg

Although far from beginning due to technologies that must yet be developed to allow the construction of a proper automobile industry within, the concept of having all infantry forces of the Under-Nation on armored personal vehicles is considered heavily, for it shall greatly bolster the Rattzkrieg strategies, while dynamite is being developed as well, in preparation for future enemies that may be too strongly armored to be defeated with small arms. Also, with an industrial capacity above 80, the Under-Nation can finally call itself a Great Power, for very few have this degree of power within the Wastelands.

lpddfohuns025.jpg

Calgary proves more difficult to secure than thought, due to the offensive launched by the Ghouls of Gecko, which proves to be too much for the weary and outnumbered forces that just arrived to hold their ground.

lpddfohuns026.jpg

The Ghouls hope to secure their sovereignty against the horrors of the Under-Nation, and fight fiercely, achieving an initial victory against them. Little they knew of the full might of the enemy they have been at war against for years but only now faced for the first time. Reinforcements were already advancing towards Calgary.

lpddfohuns027.jpg

To improve resources and open the opportunity of the creation of new industries, a research of organized mining begins.

lpddfohuns028.jpg

pinky_and_brain.gif

Clumsy, perhaps. Laughing stock, definitively, but the support of these two rats will be crucial for world domination, specially thanks to Brain's skills at making robots that can lead to a new age of warfare.

lpddfohuns029.jpg

5-shodan-din-system-shock.jpg

Speaking on robots, a rogue artificial intelligence known as ZAX-Alpha claims the province of Regina as its own, and proclaims itself as a God, the God-Machine, destined to inherit the wastelands of Earth. This is a very worrissome development, and this new power has vast robotic armies at its disposal, however, for now they have done nothing, although patrols stand ever vigilant around these legions of robotic and biomechanical abominations.

lpddfohuns030.jpg

Finally Calgary is secured, but before advancing northwards towards the Huns, which shall eventually make them border the mighty Enclave, which is also in a currently phony war against the Under-Nation, Gecko must be subjugated because of the threat they pose of breaking the front lines entirely.

lpddfohuns031.jpg

In an attempt to solidify the recent alliance, the Supermutants offer blueprints for several technologies for free to the Under-Nation, which promptly accepts them. This alliance will force the Under-Nation to eventually wage war against the powerful Enclave, but its benefits are not small. Things were going more or less well so far, and little they knew about the much greater powderkeg that was about to explode from such single conflict.

lpddfohuns032.jpg

Thus technological developments to improve infrastructure further and increase transport capacity carry on. Yet the powderkeg fuse was very, very thin, and soon the first explosion would happen.

lpddfohuns033.jpg

Rock Springs was only lightly defended, for the entirety of the army was focused on defeating the Huns and Gecko as Vault City declared war against the glorious Hivemind and began to sneak their forces against one of the industrial cores of the Under-Nation: their very capital. The situation worsened, and Vault City was a very strong and powerful enemy. One they weren't prepared for.

Thus what began as a simple bid for conquest might yet escalate into a much, much greater war, that could decide the very future of the Wastelands.

Right now, only rat engineers and rat swarms, and the former are much, much better than the latter. The game as a whole has a fair amount of unique divisions and brigades, and even special units only some factions can build. I can't bother listing them all.

=============================

Drawbacks and conquests.

lpddfohuns034.jpg

Hoping to change the course of this sneaky declaration of war, probing attacks are sent to Pocatello,

if proven lightly defended, it would have been taken, but unfortunately that was not what was discovered. Rock Springs was endangered.

lpddfohuns035.jpg

The enemy arrives in Butte. Immediately an offensive begins to drive them back, however, although chances of victory were high, there was on risk on this offensive: exposing Rock Springs even more.

lpddfohuns036.jpg

Victory ensues, while freshly deployed new units move towards new positions with the goal of halting this mighty threat of Vault City. Then suddenly, a massive offensive is launched against Rock Springs. With only a few men ready to defend it, the capital of the Under-Nation falls. To prevent their loss, the forces in Provo are disbanded, meanwhile. The plan right now was simple: To hold out on the southwest while focusing on the goal of crushing Gecko, from where it would be possible to launch a much more effective offensive against Vault City.

lpddfohuns038.jpg

The attack begins against Missoula. Gecko ghouls resist fiercely and many die in this battle, where despite outnumbered they may yet triumph against the Hivemind, this time.

lpddfohuns039.jpg

Fortunately they didn't, and thus, now, once Missoula is secured, all left to do will be the battle of Gecko, and then the ghouls will be fully subjugated and become fresh new slaves for the legions of the Under-Nation, while their industrial infrastructure shall compensate for the inevitable but temporary loss of Rock Springs.

lpddfohuns040.jpg

Inspired by the perspicacy and ruthlessness of the Jews, the Founder begins the creation of a proper minted currency for the Under-Nation rats, considering that bottle caps never were a very effective one, after all.

lpddfohuns041.jpg

Rock Springs is lost, but immediately an offensive begins to retake it. The loss of Rock Springs is a significant setback for the Under-Nation, cutting their research teams from five to three and drastically reducing their prestige and glory along the wastes.

lpddfohuns042.jpg

And thus they were, for now, beaten back from the rampant conquest by the works of the treasonous Vault City, which was deliberatedly exterminating all rats, both young, just born and old, within Rock Springs, wiping them out with no mercy while forcing the former slaves to become their "servants" in another demonstration of the hypocrisy and degeneracy of these manboons, for at least the rats don't enslave their own kind.

No matter what, they shall pay dearly for this. First Citizen Lynette, that bitch will really pay harshly for this insult, and regret daring to declare war against the glory of the Hivemind. For something special shall be reserved for her. Something very, very special that will happen once Vault City falls to the Rodent Empire.

lpddfohuns044.jpg

Missoula is secured, and a new offensive attempt happens, this time against Anaconda. The enemy however proves too numberful for any chance of victory, and thus the offensive is ordered to be cancelled immediately. Casper was also endangered by the advance of the enemy, however.

lpddfohuns045.jpg

But thanks to the arrival of the reinforcements, the gap in the Under-Nation lines that their advance against Rock Springs left was closed, and now the front lines were stabilized against Vault City.

lpddfohuns046.jpg

Strange dreams torment the Founder sleep. Could it be a portent of ITZ? The Ultimate DOOM Expansion Set for Rats? It made the Founder very upset, but it made no sense at all, in spite of what it could mean. Something big might yet happen.

lpddfohuns047.jpg

A second offensive begins against Anaconda, and this time chances seem much, much better than before, although the outcome is unclear due to the much better professionalized nature of Vault City forces.

lpddfohuns048.jpg

Victory ensues, and with Anaconda secured by the Under-Nation, the time was ripe for a final offensive against Gecko, with the goal of destroying this minor ghoul community for once and all.

lpddfohuns049.jpg

Thus, in September of 2248, ITZ came for Gecko, as the major, climatic battle was waged near the old nuclear powerplant. The Ghouls were outnumbered, but better equipped, and with the support of mountains, they fought fiercely to defend their home. The battle had much bloodshed, and every inch of territory had a high cost. But eventually they would fall. And thus, outnumbered, they were forced to retreat towards worthless wastelands where they would stand no chance of survival. The war against Gecko was finally won.

lpddfohuns050.jpg

And thus, now the Under-Nation not only acquired many new meat puppets and significant industrial infrastructure, but also an entire nuclear powerplant, that might yet become useful in their plans for world domination, and thus, now they were positioned to crush Vault City, but this would not be easy.
