Mongolian Winter Offensive

A fine day to die

I have been resorting to elastic defenses long enough. From now on the Russians shall be on the run and surrendering. Barnaul was only the beginning and the far north provides many other opportunities! The horde shall not falter or retreat! Damn these traitorous Kazakh rebels, attacking their brothers from the Horde! They shall be punished for this provided the Russians don't kill them all first!

Advances through the Qing territory have proven to be insufficient in numbers. Reinforcements will arrive from Ulaanbaatar as soon as possible. The time has come to cripple China for once and all, yet Russia remains the first priority.

Thanks to Japanese support, Pavlodar will resist. It must be held at any costs. For a difficult but important battle to completely surround Omsk is about to begin.

Thanks to a courageous offensive, the militia defending Arvaikheer are partly relieved and soon Bayankhongor shall be liberated. To achieve such victories with such small forces to the east front is nothing but a testament of the superiority, honor and bravery of the glorious Horde.

And of the superiority of the warfare strategies and tactics I have devised to ensure the Horde of the 20th century shall be as feared as the Horde of the 13th century, of course.

In the end all the small conquests were insufficient to hold Arvaikheer, but for the Qing this was nothing but a pyrrhic victory. Their defeat is only a matter of time, and for them this time is running out. Nevertheless, the brave major general has mastered desert warfare from what I was told, proving that those who stand with the Horde are so wise that they grow stronger even in the few times they lose battles.

Pavlodar is secured at last and the horde will never stop growing.

Everything is eventually set for the important battle. Victory will be hard earned and many will die in this fine day.

But the vast superiority of the Horde shall easily overcome the obstacles of the swamp! Forward without mercy!

Desperate, the Russians attempt to take back Pavlodar, where storms rage on the skies as the Horde gloriously defend their recent conquest. Victory is the only path!

The Japanese made a severe mistake on the East Front, allowing the Chinese forces to break the pocket. The small forces of the Horde will do their best to correct this error together with Japanese forces! Our superiority is so vast I am confident that even fighting over mountains against numerically superior defenders they shall prevail!

The offensive on Pavlodar is expectedly another failure. The encirclement of Omsk remains the primary objective in the West front and it shall happen. The part of Horde I directly lead was unfortunately exhausted, but soon they will be ready to join the still ongoing assault.

We have emerged victorious! Another step. Only a cavalry corps will occupy Tobolsk, as I will head with the others of the Horde to Pavlodar, from where we shall finish the siege of Omsk.

Unfortunately those gutless Japanese soldiers left the two divisions at Ulaanbaatar alone in their offensive, forcing them to fall back. But another opportunity to close the pocket again shall happen sooner or later.

Chita was the opportunity. I hope the Japanese are more willing to coordinate their offensives than they currently are, or that at least they could start crushing the Qing enough for me to safely deploy all my men to the west front.

And while I await until all are ready at Pavlodar, I can only feel smug on the news from other Asian countries.

A fittingly pathetic end for a pathetic country so ridiculous they declared war against Armenia expecting the Turks would do nothing because they recently lost a war in the decline of the Ottomon Empire to Egypt, Kurdistan and others.

Ekibastuz is the next step to the encirclement of Omsk and this shall be a certain victory. The time is running out before the harsh Siberian winter begins, but the Horde is not afraid of the winter, the Horde is so mighty and glorious that even with winter their assaults shall not stop! Better however for my Empire to gain as much ground as possible before the Winter.

Chita is secured! Soon the Chinese forces in the far north shall be surrounded and deprived of supplies again!

From Ekibastuz, the final stage of the encirclement, Tara, is only a matter of time. In their despair, the Russians are trying to break through to the south, but they shall fail!

Not even General Winter can stop the horde and save Russia! Forward! Hold Pavlodar at all costs!

I expected this to last much longer as much as I expected a certain victory. There is however a good thing about this battle lasting this long. Soon entire Russian divisions shall be not only defeated, but completely annihilated for many of them are already severely understrength.

No army can stop the Horde! Leave them all in their icy graves!

November 18th was a very cold day, but my expectation of a victory soon to come, before reinforcements could arrive for the Russians, was keeping me warm. My masterful leadership and courage to lead my men right next to the front lines inspired the Horde to fight relentlessly against the visibly near exhausted defenders. I was leading the charge that broke through their lines personally. Unlike Napoleon, I will defeat General Winter!

Unfortunately a courier would inform me that the attempt to pocket the Qing forces by securing Chita has failed just as the victorious Mongol horde was about to seize it. The number of Chinese troops is starting to make me reconsider their current role. For they will be more useful supporting the winter offensive at this point. Let the Japanese put the Chinese in their place. I am sure they will give to the Mongol Empire all their rightful lands the Qing have stolen.

So close and now so distant again! I will not give up! Many of their divisions are literally about half a dozen soldiers in their strength and I shall destroy them and conquer Tara! Our superiority and determination can make it through! No matter how many of us will make the ultimate sacrifice for the glory of all Khans and of Mongolia, victory will be our certainty. Not only that, but the effect on morale of a victory under such harsh weather conditions will put even more fear in the heart of the Russians, knowing not even General Winter can stop us! Alas, General Winter will help the Horde by allowing much smaller forces to hold their ground while most of the Horde is concentrated over a strategic schwerpunkt.

Their units are breaking apart! No matter how many months and lives it takes, victory is the only outcome any worthy Mongol should pursue! And my courier bring great news. The situation is heating up over Europe. if Germany attempts to protect the Italian Federation they might begin a war against the Commune of France, and that will be very convenient to my interests. Although right now, not much, considering no country is willing to give the much needed military access to Germany to allow them to reach Russia with reinforcements, and they do not care enough about Russia to ship such reinforcements by sea either.

What? Tyumen must also be taken over to encircle Omsk! Preposterous, how could they sneak in supplies and troops through a river only? Damnation! This is not over yet. As much as Tara, Tyumen shall fall them!

But first, I shall crush Tyumen, General Winter be damned. Many of their defenders are exhausted and unable to really put up a fight. Omsk is still about to be encircled.

Courage and strength shall overcome superior numbers! Ekibastuz will stand and Tyumen shall fall!

Too many pathetic ants can kill a man. Too many worthless cannon fodder can defeat a smaller but properly trained army.

Thus they had to retreat to Pavlodar, which must not fall to ensure the encirclement shall succeed!

Nooooooo! I will personally push these drunkards out of Pavlodar to maintain the siege of Omsk! Death to all of you who refuse to surrender peacefully to the invincible Mongol Empire! Damn Russians, they got nothing! Once I was a German, once I was a Estonian, once I hired a Lithuanian to take care of personal unfinished business, but now even though I was born in another land, I consider myself Mongol and those I lead agree out of respect and of the great honor I proved to earn as a honorary Mongol and the Khagan that shall rise Mongolia through the whole Old World.

Ulaanbaatar must be defended no matter the cost! We will never let the filthy Qings step over it again! We will crush them all, no matter how many they send! Stand forth Horde and do not waver!

The bloody battles took so long all soldiers at Omsk left it. Realizing the futility, I have ordered the offensive on Tyumen to be halted, for now. Yet, thinking they were about to turn the tide, the Russians did a foolish and risky move, allowing for a much greater chance of another pocket being formed right as they prevented one form happening.

Once again we shall take Ekibastuz! Once again the enemy shall be surrounded and crushed without mercy!

Tobolsk must not fall after all the blood shed to secure the swampland! I have already redeployed all soldiers at the east front and at defensive positions the Japanese are already guarding to support its defense! We managed to snatch it from enemy hands despite all difficulties of fighting for a swamp! We will defend it successfuly! That is your duty as honorable warriors of the Horde!

Their bravery to launch a Counter-attack despite being outnumbered at six to one as a means of buying time for reinforcements is admirable. We will not give up our land, our manifest destiny, without a fight. No matter the unpredictable problems, no matter the plans that have to be rethinked, no matter how many will do the ultimate sacrifice, I shall lead Mongolia to the defeat of the Russian army.

Now the battle of Ulaanbaatar is truly important both symbollically and strategically. For the pocket was once again closed, and they are desperatedly attempted to break through the very seat of the Khagans. How proud and foolish of them. Their defeat is coming.

Once again I march towards victory, once again the Russians are in a critical situation, and once again the Horde shall achieve a massive strategic victory by encircling and crushing hundred of thousand Russian soldiers.

Why did they even dare to try? Their defeat was written on the stars!

Mongolia is becoming a modern empire, and now I believe the time has come to invest into the building of a proper air force, one for destruction and conquest, that shall be a scourge through the skies, mighty bombers protected by escort fighters that will greatly enhance the power of the Horde.

The defenders of Tobolsk did not waver against superior numbers, and the power of the Mongolian cavalry is once again proven. All left now is for the circle to be closed. But it failed because they retreated first. There is however one last chance to bring many Russian divisions to an end, and while I prepare for it I shall return to take control of Tyumen.

Our brave HQ and cavalry attachment is advancing ahead of retreating Russian soldiers after its victory and their cavalry brigade shall rapidly surround the routed armies, and hopefully they will arrive before most of them, damning them to surrender or die without supplies to put up a fight.

Success! The encirclement is set over Akmolinsk for countless routed Russian divisions to be forced to surrender while Tyumen is about to fall to the unrelenting assault I am personally leading!

Another step closer to Europe! I am so proud of my Horde. Even after all the setbacks we are still pushing the Russians closer and closer to the heart of their dying motherland. The brave soldiers behind the HQ divisions will earn many medals for their bravery and success at getting so many Russian forces to surrender.

I am loving the summer this year! Some Russian corps will definitively end encircled at the far north of Siberia, and from Tyumen the mass of my glorious Horde stands in a very advantageous position to springboard further devastating offensives against the collapsing Russian Army, while the Japanese finally have managed to start putting the Qing in their place after their futile advance through Manchuria ended dooming rather than saving them.

Many of the Russian forces are precariously positioned through Central Asia, ripe for being surrounded and crushed, so many opportunities around, specially now that compared to the Horde of 1936, the Horde has grown almost thrice in its size, and will soon expand even more.

Around 1.7 Manpower/day last I checked. Siberia + Bharitya Commune surely ensured it. Add to them the manpower growth bonus of two ministers.

The ideal strategy by now would be to spam production of Infantry and Militia without brigades. But it wouldn't be as fun and impressive as kicking ass of an army defending a marsh province at a near 1:1 ratio between attackers and defenders, and infantry divisions with armored cars and cavalry forces attached to them are much more Mongol too.

Return of the Golden Horde

1776

The Russians may have avoided another devastating loss, but they will soon fall next to the might and superiority of the Horde. They have made a big mistake trying to retake land through the south and stretching themselves too much, exposing a great part of their army to the threat of being surrounded and cut off from any supplies.

My plan is set into motion. Fight with honor and courage, and the future of glory for all Mongols shall reign triumphant!

Hold your ground! This is the moment of the decisive victory, sons of the Great Khanate.

I will secure small encirclements to deceive the Russians about the true plans for now.

The pressure continues, and the Qing remain a problem, but I will ensure our victory! The war has been difficult from the very less than desirable beginning. The horde is still outnumbered by the Russian forces, thus victory under such demanding conditions is an imperative.

To the far north the encirclement of another significant amount of Russian forces is concluded. I am pleased by the reports of the success of the Horde so far. Wrangel may have expected a rapid and decisive victory one year ago, but now he must be desperate for he knows only a miracle can stop his defeat, and why would a god who they claim to have died for our sins and who preached peace above violence give a miracle in a war?

The rising star of the German Empire will fade soon. The Commune of France sent an ultimatum for Alsaice-Lorraine which predictably was refused. They foolishly are helping the Mongolian conquest of Europe, Asia and Africa, for they will all crumble under the might of the Horde!

The war front became simply about the Mongol hordes outrunning the Russian army in a grand strategic level, countless Russian armies now are about to be encircled, but this will have to be by our own hands, for the rebels to the south will sooner or later lose.I expect Wrangel will do a last ditch attempt with everything possible to stop this. Just one more push and the devastating defeat to come shall seal the fate of Russia forever as part of the Mongol Empire.

The first of many Russian forces about to be crushed falls. My soldiers hold bravely against superior numbers, as Wrangel is throwing everything he can to stop the coming near total victory for my empire. Futile!

The Qing lie on the verge of defeat! They have gained and lost territory back and forth, but the Japanese are putting them in their place.

The limited Mongol forces in the East front are doing an admirable job while news of the war between Syndicalists and Germany and her lapdogs get interesting. The puppet Belgium is gone, but unlike my great horde, the French and German are both incapable of breaking through and their conflict will most likely be go like it went for most of the Weltkrieg. Trenches and countless lives of lesser warriors wasted for even a few miles.

The Horde is expanding exponentially. With recent advances light tanks and armored cars will also be part of the Horde in a very large scale. They way the war is going, Russia will likely fall before another major expansion of the Horde size.

Wrangel's last ditch attempt to revert a strategic defeat that would almost certainly doom Russia to capitulation has begun. I personally led the Mongolian corps holding the ground at Kustanay as we were surrounded by a horde of drafted peasants. They will not stop me!

Under my leadership the Horde held Kustanay successfully for almost an entire week against numerically superior Russian forces, even though part of this horde included some ill-equipped and rapidly trained Tributary Legions, and finally reinforcements arrived that could change this battle and make of it another of many legendary victories for the Horde.

A new age of progress has begun for Mongolia. I will lead the brave warriors to a new future, a future to last a thousand years! Or as the Japanese say: BANZAI!

The tables have turned! No mercy for the enemies! Forward an drive the back! Holing up in trenches is for the weak, defeated and rats! Take cover behind the armored cars, but don't stop!

An advisor called me insane because I rode through the frontlines to lead the counter offensive that would put an end to this battle. Before the counter-attack the odds were even and had it not happened, I might have lost it. My personal presence is one of the reasons for our victories. An army led by a brave leader and great soldiers whose only profession is being a soldier will always win against a drafted army of peasants led by decadent aristocrats from behind a desk!

Now all left is for Chelkar to be conquered, and the devastating blow to the Russian Army shall be delivered!

Don't give them any time to regroup or reinforce their borders! August 1939 will be marked as the month the fall of the Russian Empire has finally started! Today we fight in Siberia but tomorrow we will march over Europe!

The battle of Chelkar may have been the one that sealed Russia's fate, but it was the far more difficult for our side Battle of Kustanay was the one that truly enabled this great victory that will devastate the Russian Army and make the rest of our conquest a breeze in comparison to the battles we have faced so far.

The Chinese are putting up a fight, but their minor gain will soon become irrelevant, for Japan continue to demonstrate general superiority. The Qing German lapdog will change her master soon.

The soon to come pocket, instead of trying a desperate strategic retreat, insists on fighting on, oblivious to how precarious their situation is.

When Wrangel was about to achieve victory in the Battle of Sar, I am sure he must have been very happy from hearing the news on how most of his army is now surrounded. Our distractions and defense gaps used only as baits worked perfectly and they have fallen right into the trap I devised! Unless they can retake Chelkar, their ultimate defeat already happened and once this pocket is broken and crushed, then it will be a mostly uneventful march to Moscow.

The Battle of Sar, a textbook example of a pyrrhic victory. And speaking of pointless victories from our enemies, I could finally feel safe about not being at Ulaanbaatar.

For despite some victories, the Chinese have lost the war, and being the spineless lapdog he is, the Qing "emperor" agreed to let the Japanese take his collar from the Germans, isolating several German forces deep into Mongolian territory without supplies, as a consequence. I have ordered for our small forces on the East front to finish off those German pockets as quickly as possible so that the business on this front are at last over.

The encircled Russian force is massive. Likely three quarters of their entire army if not more. Now it is just a matter of time. To say the battles that were needed to finish the job were totally easy would be an understatement, but they were fights against an enemy that knew that they were doomed from the start, and many just surrendered in the hope of mercy. Considering that surrender speeds up victory, I determined a policy of merciful ultimatums, about time now that I expect massive desertions from the Russian forces. Soldiers who agree to surrender after given the ultimatum from now on will just be given standard POW treatment according to the Geneva Laws even though I never signed them. And those foolish enough to risk themselves for a decadent Tzar and refuse the ultimatum... they will beg for mercy and be given none as their deaths will be long and painful.

Only an idiot would refuse such offer.

Along our many victories as the mass surrenders and desertions of millions of Russian soldiers that continued, finally we have reached the milestone in the great day, and fittingly, cavalry was behind such milestone. Having crossed the Urals, the Horde have already reached Europe, although the bulk of their forces will take a while for it, this remains an important moment for its symbollic meaning.

Not much shortly after the Russian pocket was gone. There is no more Russian Army, and Wrangel barely escaped from the whole thing. I heard rumors went to the pathetic extent of dressing himself as a woman to escape from me! Ridiculous, a truly fitting act for a honorless and defeated enemy. But rumors should never be taken seriously, although the spread of them may help a lot in our victory by ridiculing Wrangel.

After the encirclement the Horde had free reign and was already crossing the Urals. The end of Russian Empire will come soon. Not even the coming winter of 1939 did anything to help the remnants of their defeated army.

I never imagined Wrangel would make the same mistake twice. Maybe he gave up already and threw the towel away. Will new rumors of crossdressing to escape the horde surface this time too? The same rumor spreading twice tends to be enough to be considering a scant evidence rather than just a rumor.

With the advance of the Horde through many flatlands, it is about time to get the Cavalry of the 20th Century on. For now, I have set the Horde to have light tanks as auxiliary brigades to Infantry divisions, but with my growing development of lightning warfare, I can now set strategic, operational, tactical and logistical procedures for making an entire division of tanks and armored vehicles supported by motorized and mechanized infantry regiments practical.

A minuscle force was left to finish the pocket, which won't take much longer. The ultimatums are working, and with Turkestan now surrounded from both sides by Mongol controlled territory, I made an even better offer after meeting with the Turks. Those who agree to lay down their weapons will have safe passage to Turkestan and once Russia is integrated to the Mongol Empire, they will return home.

Those who don't... even Vlad Dracul would cringe from witnessing what will happen to them.

I have little to write on the battles against Russia that would happen afterwards, for although all had their share of ultimate sacrifices from my brave warriors, neither of them were under any condition other than the certainty of victory.

Except that despite encircled, calling upon General Winter, Wrangel was putting one hell of a fight.

For almost one month, I continued leading my men in a devastating offensive against the encircled Russian forces. It was difficult, and I did my best to achieve victory faster and with less casualties, but no matter how, this will be another crushing victory after the already far more crushing victory against the majority of the Russian forces that were surrounded in the former Alash Orda territories. My genius have overcome General Winter with constant encirclements, and from this challenging battle I have mastered the art of tactical encirclement as much as I already do the art of strategic encirclement.

As much as I mastered the art of inspiring my men by leading them into glorious assaults against our enemies no matter how well defended they are. Although strategically it was just accelerating an already certain victory against Russia, this battle for Pervouralsk was a great learning ground for me to improve even further my already great leadership and tactical abilities. I never saw Wrangel. He probably was holed in a bunker with always burning heaters being the coward he is while I fought into the freezing cold together with my battle brothers.

And even as I continued this long and grueling struggle to finish off Wrangel forces, other encirclements were on their way to the south.

That which does not kill me makes me stronger. The frostbite nearly took my fingers and toes off, but I survived, and this grueling, almost four months long battle taught me many lessons I'll never forget, that will make of me an even greater and worthier Khagan. My men have a greater respect for me than ever, and now, as I stand on the gates of Europe, I realize that my achievements are already great enough to be forever marked in the history of the world.

Now the rumors are different. Wrangel swore he would not leave Pervouralsk unless victorious, and the rumor mill is saying he honored his promise, by putting a bullet to his own head. Pathetic, instead of dying like a man in the field of honor, he died like a coward.

Except for the great winter battle against the surrounded Wrangel's army, the rest of the advance through Russian-controlled Caucasus and East Europe was a "breeze", relatively speaking of course.

What we have achieved in 1939 will be forever remembered in History as the greatest military victory of all times!

By April 1940, as the winter was finally ending, and thank the gods for it, the victory of the Horde over Russia was totally undisputed, and the war against Syndicalism gained a new front as the independent Austrian Empire, that somehow managed to achieve victory after the devastating rebellion it suffered some years ago, entered in the conflict. Hopefully this war will still be ongoing once my time to conquer Europe comes.

All of the Horde is already in Europe. The Golden Horde was the name of one of the empires born of Genghis Khan conquests after his descendants failed to keep the unity of the empire he forged. Much of East Europe belonged to the Golden Horde, and now, a new Golden Horde, united rather than being a splinter of a divided Horde, is ready to repeat this conquest.

As much as one should never make jokes about underestimating enemies, at this point I decided to be a bit more lenient on that. It didn't take long for my subordinates to politely ask things like "Where are we supposed to find the Russian Army?". And indeed, Between the Altaic pocket and the battle of Pervouralsk, only a fraction of the Russian army was left, insufficient to cover the massive front, and thus most of the horde was advancing without any real opposition.

One of my boldest warlords took the challenge of achieving a very important symbollic conquest for the glory of the Horde. Risky for he would be way ahead of the rest of the horde, he still had no fear about it, and set off to accomplish it and have his name written forever in History.

For thanks to him, once again Moscow has fallen next to the unstoppable might of a new Khagan! I, Roman von Ungern-Sternberg, Khan of Khans of all Mongols and soon to be Khan of Khans of all Russias, have defeated my enemy and oppressor of the Mongol people and crushed the Russian Empire! Today, 6th of May of 1940, will be a day to be forever remembered in History!

The capture of Moscow was more symbollic than strategically important. A symbol of how Russia is already defeated. Under my leadership, the Mongol Empire will soon extend beyond the borders set by Genghis Khan. Many laughed and mocked all the Mongols when the once small Horde began its drive into conquest, daring to call me the "Mad Baron" because I realized how decadent and declined the values of the West are and converted to Buddhism and a new culture.

Now they all cower in fear, begging for their false god to spare them from the Horde as they realize only time lies between them and their defeat by the glorious Horde.

The Russian Army is practically no more, as the Mongol cavalry rides towards the last important Russian cities to signal their ultimate defeat. Plans are already established to crush the German dogs like the United Baltic Duchies, White Ruthenia and Ukraine. They will all fall. Nobody can stop the Mongol Empire now!

And soon the pathetic excuse for what is left of their army will be gone as well, and then the Horde marches without opposition all the way through East Europe! Moscow is now firmly under Mongol control!

I have asked for a Lama to come and formalize the already obvious. From now on I am the Khan of All Mongols and All Russians!

Ukraine's resistance proves even more pathetic. While the Russians had a chance to turn the tide of the war in their favor during its very onset, if they had competent strategists and tacticians, Ukraine is so hopeless and their armies so pathetically weak that one of my generals used three words to describe the experience in the Ukrainian front:

Maybe not as banal, shit and boring as that general described. No matter how pathetic, our enemies must never be underestimated to a point where such critical strategic mistakes are made! That force must be relieved at once!

On 15th of June, I ordered the stranded division to rapidly return to the front line while a diversionary offensive was launched to keep the enemy forces busy. It had no chances of succeeding, but the Mongol Empire will not have the dishonor of losing entire hordes without a proper fight!

The move was successful, and White Ruthenia was also about to crumble. I took the train towards Rostov-on-Don with my soldiers, as I'll personally lead the battle that will annihilate most of the weak Ukrainian army.

If they were true warriors, they might have managed to defend themselves. Alas, from my short presence in this splinter from the Russian Empire it didn't take much for me to realize Ukraine is full of people complaining and trying to defy me while enjoying the benefits of Mongol rule at the same time. Hypocrites without any morals to even make minor sacrifices to support their point with their actions instead of acting exactly against what they are supposed to defend.

Sevastopol is the last important Russian city. Wrangel is running away like a coward! All the enemies of the Horde are breaking apart and the German Empire is too selfish to defend the East Front while the Commune of France is on them!

Now our West front is relatively secure as long as Poland, Lithuania and Bulgaria remain neutral, and soon I'll have to decide on what to do about the minor treason of Japan. Their usefulness as allies is long gone in any case.

Today we conquered Eastern Europe! Tomorrow we shall conquer the entirety of Europe and Africa, and after tomorrow we shall conquer the world!

However, the Japanese treason with their pathetic Transamur pet cannot be left unanswered, although Germany poses a more immediate threat.

I must thus decide on what to do next:

1) Punish Japan and their lapdogs for such disrespect over the rightfully Mongolian Siberia and leave the West Front for now, for the Commune of France will keep the Germans busy for a long time.

2) Launch a rapid blitz through Poland to reach and completely crush Mitteleuropa

3) Launch a rapid blitz through Lithuania to reach and completely crush Mitteleuropa

4) Launch a rapid blitz through Bulgaria to reach and completely crush Mitteleuropa
