Time to break the forums with too many images
Update time!
Wow. That's pretty lame compared to the chest of fucking mithril 2 feet in the door.
At least the version Codex uses still works. Boost ftw.
Huh, I guess this does have a hit rate after all. It's just really high for most enemies. Cool.
Man that is a lot of gold.
So these things are here too eh?
Wow, even lamer than the gold. You know, poison is actually so weak in this game, it's cheaper to just ignore it and heal the damage if you're moving less than ~100 paces.
Chest detected through3D jew magicry!
I doubt 33 more attack power is going to be a better deal than an extra attack right now. Or at any point in the future. Maybe if this and the flail were both around like, 20 levels ago. But even then, killing 2 enemies in a single action is just way too useful.
Not taking chances with these fuckers this time.
Lightrobe is pretty epic.
New enemies. Nothing special AFAICT.
Of course, even mundane attack power is dangerous at this point, if they land crits. Maybe the ability to land crits is special? I can't remember if everything has been doing it or only certain enemies. It's fairly rare.
4 of these fuckers in 2 groups. And they're faster than Milo sometimes.
I tried nuking the shit out of them, but Pyra only killed one...
And Milo just wounded the other 2. Luckily they just used their wimpy melee attacks.
The fights are taking so long now I kinda want to frameskip through them all. But that'd be kinda dangerous, since almost everything ehre poses some sort of threat. Also, I wouldn't want to miss some rare action an enemy performs. (Like say, Desoul)
At least we know what this is now.
Old jrpg secret: reptiles are weak to ice attacks.
Magic is always superior.
Gold piling back up. Dying would definitely suck now.
Look guys! Dynamic shadows!
Bah. This is the only way forward so I go to the trouble of counting out the squares to map this out properly.
It's kind of neat how the enemy spells are mirrored.
Nice! Our highest power spell yet.
This is a different door than the other side of the one we saw before.
Lets try this thing out. I freeze them beforehand too for good measure.
Explosions are fun.
Ugh, couldn't kill a single one. Figures.
New plan: Quick will raise our defense enough that they don't hurt so bad. And it's cheap.
Plan is not successful.
Our MP is getting low now too. These fights take a lot out of us. Boost alone is 9 mp...
There goes another 10.
I probably shouldn't have wasted magic on these guys.
But it's fun, and I wanted to get to that chest.
BAH.
Though the other chest we find in this little closed area between the blue doors has a much better reward! No more crown for us.
Where quick failed, Slow shall prevail!
Damage is definitely up a lot.
But we end up wasting turns recovering from paralysis. I used the item so Milo could fight, since Pyra isn't going to kill shit.
Ugh, between bad targetting and heal, this takes forever.
And of course this fucker paralyzes Pyra.
This time I used it just because we have like no MP left.
I heal up with the last of my MP, we're pretty much drained before I even get to the moss.
But we make it throguh to the other blue door and finish off this chunk of map.
That axe sells for a small fortune.
We sell the key too to make room.
Re-place our dark block order.
And we still have 10k left!
Ready in the morning. Nice.
Wow, that looks heavy and kinda scary.
Huge armor bonus, along with a huge damage penalty. Well, it's on Pyra so I don't really care. Whip wasn't going to be useful much longer anyways.
Dun dun dun!
Well yeah, if we could it'd be a pretty lame curse. But I don't really want to anyways. Look at that armor!
I decide to pass the lightrobe back to Milo (who it was made for) and give Pyra a lesser robe.
Armor is still off the charts.
And now Milo gets an upgrade.
Milo reveals that there is nothing at all special about cursed objects. Thanks Milo!
Pyra still hits hard enough to kill slugs... but thats about it.
She ain't doing fuck all in ehre with that whip. We should probably just sell it next trip in.
Well, unless she lands a crit. But even then it's fairly irrelevant.
And of course she still gets hurt by spells.
But this is why she's here.
Annoying cunts.
New message! This is because Pyra's attack is so fucking low, she can't even deal 1 damage. How sad is that.
Guess these guys are strong against fire, even thoguh they don't seem to cast anything...
And ice. Maybe that's whats special, magic resist? I dunno.
I try out some old spells just to have shit for her to do. Muddle still works. Not that muddle working actually does anything.
Pallete swapped version of someone that would have been able to hurt us badly anyways. Does not bode well.
So fucking awesome for just 2 MP.
Though I waste it by having Milo try to desoul the fucker anyway. Which fails.
Holy shit, he hits nearly as hard as we do.
In fact, he'd be hitting harder if not for that slow, I bet.
Pyra goes on Heal duty so Milo can lay on the beating.
Milo is frigging scary with that flail when buffs/debuffs come into play.
Fucker is still alive! over 150 hp.
Ugh, thats a lot of MP to spend on heals + desoul.
For a shitty reward I might add.
New enemy! Sleep manages to knock one out.
And Codex outspeeds the other! Nice.
Big open room. These are pretty rare, the developers really loved cramming stuff into every corner.
Another new enemy, this warrants some major sleep I think.
Of course it doesn't hit anybody at all.
Oh boy, a new attack.
Fuckers hit everyone and ignore armor!
That is also new. And sounds very, very bad.
At least the last one decided to nip at us rather than finish us off.
Codex scores the only kill.
Plan 'DAI' is not successful.
Thats not good.
Ow.
Luckily the salamander was retarded and we got away.
Thank god for overpowered healers.
High MP cost, but we're basically still in top form.
More of this huh?
Oops, forgot about that.
Which makes this rather ineffective.
Though Codex still pulls through.
And serves as meatshield.
I dunno why I even tried that.
Muddle is so useless.
Anyways, we finally win, after taking way too much damage.
That sounds pretty awesome.
Radiant armor upgrade
Armor for badasses only.
Yeah fuck you Milo. Maybe it can keep my thermos warm.
Not going to fuck with this one, no treasure to be found.
Hallway is filled with these fuckers.
This is more like it. We could have tried Desoul too but it'd suck if that missed, and we might need his MP for revives.
BAM!
Holy fuck. You're not supposed to do that. Triple digit damage was OUR thing you asshole.
Fuck! He gets a double turn too!
Oh well, evened up the xp a bit.
Uh huh. Based on the stats this thing has and the fact that we know cursed shit exists now, I'm not touching that.
Yeah I'll bet.
Another lame reward. Must be balancing out for that wicked sun armor.
Geez, they're not even super weak against ice? Assholes.
Though Milo finishes them off before they move anyways.
Hmm, another new friend.
Honestly never going to cast that again I swear.
Guess that's one reason for all the ceiling holes.
Running low here, but theres not much room left on the map, and new enemies must mean we're close to the end.
Fuck, even after our armor upgrade that hurts a lot.
And of course this thing hits way too ahrd for armor to matter.
Even for Pyra.
Wat.
Fucking suicide bomber!
Yeah... holy shit. Maybe I'll go back to trying Desoul on those.
Well, we have almost no MP left and tons of gold to lose by dying now so-
Oh come on : x
Codex gets to play wizard to save the last bits of our MP.
Damn thats so awesome.
Burn fuckers! we need a Rance emote.
Guess we'll need to try out that repair thing the trader offered.
Huh, this water is a different colour than the other basin we found on this floor. Weird. There's a space on the map behind it too, where that sentinel we didn't fuck with was.
Nice!
Well, as fun as it would be to die here to a new enemy after coming this far and losing like 10k gold...
We'll stop here for now.
New map:
Besides the oddness of that fountain, I noticed there is just enough room at the top there for a path between the two bronze doors. it doesn't get mapped, but I assume that's where the outer pathway is supposed to be, physically. Or maybe I'm wrong and we'll fall into a pitrap and explore there later. Who knows.
