What about pics provided from the game itself? Can you use these?

Wait, let me check... yes... YES! All right guys, sorry that I won't be using your avatars, I'll just assign a random in-game avatar based on your character info. Thanks, Morkar!

Lindblum and newcomer

Seeing as you just participated in a full run of the game, would either of you like to bow out to make room for people who haven't played? :)

When we last left off, Artabanes, Azira, and Lindblum were desperately fending off a mob of zombies while the chopper zoomed by over their heads.

Meanwhile, in a suspiciously similar neighboring town...

(Copy-pasting from previous post...)

Goal

In order to win this game, you need to find the radio and the frequency to contact the chopper, as well as the location. The other clues such as time are nice, because everybody in a location gets a relationship boost whenever a rescue clue is discovered, but they aren't necessary to win the game. You find clues by searching locations, and less frequently, through special events and cleaning up corpses. The good news is, you only need to search a location for an hour to find a clue if there is a clue present at that location, so you don't need to worry about searching the entire location.

Here's the map.

Gears: Factory
Box: Warehouse
Cross in circle: Hospital
Bed: Hotel
ABC: School
Soda can: Shop
$: Bank
Cap: University
Cross in square: Church
Star in circle: Police station

Relationships

The greener the better. Arrows mean that a survivor is prejudiced against the other person, and hexagons mean that both are prejudiced against each other. You can use rumors to control relationships, but you can only spread it about one person once a day, and it might backfire. If relationships get too low, a myriad of negative consequences might happen. For example, if you put two people with bad relationships on the same job, they might start hating each other even more. If a relationship gets too bad, your survivors will fight and injure each other.

Here are a list of rumors that you can spread about a survivor. Options are in green.

Connection: [Insert name here] and Survivor are distant cousins. They lost contact many years ago because of a family feud/their families moved apart.

Celebrity: He wrote an article for the local paper/wrote a book/directed a film that was slightly/moderately/outrageously popular among poor/middle-class/rich, young/middle-aged/old men/women.

Charity: Through his work as a [insert occupation here], he was known among friends/featured in the local paper/interviewed on television for offering his services free of charge/at a discount to educated/uneducated poor/middle-class/rich people.

Activism: He was a member of/spoke at a rally for/was leader of the local/State/National Association for Concerned [insert occupation here], Occupation, and Occupation.

Crime: He was accused/convicted of committing a serious/minor crime. The victim was gay/a foreigner/racist andmale/female, which were/but these were not motivating factors.

Actions

Here is a list of all current possible actions and how many stars each person has for each. The more stars you have, the better you are at an action. The number of stars and the availability of actions will change depending on a variety of factors, and I will try to update you if there is a significant change.

Certain actions will have different options, which will be in green.

Search location for anything useful/weapons and ammo/medical supplies/food and ingredients/tools and scrap.

Moribund 4
Dick 4
Utarefson 3
Alicia 2
Yugo 2

Watch for zombies.

Moribund 5
Dick 5
Alicia 3
Utarefson 2
Yugo 2

Snipe zombies around this location. (You can also chose to snipe zombies in neighboring buildings.)

Dick 5
Alicia 4
Yugo 3

Moribund 2
Utarefson 1

(Ooh, looks like we have a sniping team right here.)

Modify item, focusing on any/close combat/assault/sniping/cooking/barricading/demolition/engineering capability.

Moribund 5
Dick 2
Yugo 1
Alicia 1
Utarefson 1

(I see what you did thar Moribund~)

Patrol outside and report back/attack zombies.

Dick 5
Alicia 4
Yugo 3
Moribund 1
Utarefson 1

Make regular/experimental traps.

Dick 3
Moribund 3
Alicia 1
Yugo 1
Utarefson 1

Barricade entrances quickly and loudly/slowly and quietly.

Dick 3
Alicia 3
Moribundi 2
Yugo 2
Utarefson 1

Create a distraction by making noise.

Yugo 4
Alicia 4
Dick 3
Utarefson 2
Moribund 1

You can also choose to move to other buildings. You have three options:

Investigate. (You will approach the location quietly and take stock of the situation, before reporting back.)

Alicia 5
Dick 5
Moribund 3
Yugo 3
Utarefson 2

Breach. (You will attempt to enter the location, killing or incapacitating any zombies that get in the way.)

Alicia 3
Dick 3
Yugo 3
Moribund 2
Utarefson 1

Assault. (You will attack zombies in and around the warehouse without entering for as long as it's safe to do so, before heading back.)

Dick 5
Alicia 4
Yugo 3
Moribund 2
Utarefson 1

In general, this team seems to be better at investigating/breaching/assaulting/sniping than the previous one. No longer true now that Moribund's an engineer.

Actions that are currently unavailable:

Clean up corpses. (Requires corpses.)
Rest. (Survivors will rest when they feel like it. To order them to rest, survivors must be at a hotel.)
Hold a feast. (Requires one large meal and all survivors at the same location between 6pm and 6am.)
Treat an injured survivor. (Requires a survivor with an untreated injury and appropriate medical supplies.)

Participation

Please discuss and vote for actions. You can go into as much or as little detail as you want - I'll handle whatever details you don't cover. If you vote to move to another building, you can tell me what items you want the survivor(s) to bring with them, if you want. Otherwise, I'll just assign whatever makes sense.

Feel free to discuss general strategies and long-term plans as well. If you have any questions or want more information, like more information about a location or stats on an item, please ask.

For reference purposes, the game manual is here.

For this first round, the only action I'm making mandatory is that at least one person should search the starting building, just in case there's a rescue clue. For the rest, feel free to go wild (though I do recommend spreading a rumor to get relationships up as soon as possible).

Alicia is a hate machine

I am not in so good of shape so maybe a rumor for me makes the most sense. Too bad a rumor can't affect alicia as that's a mess.

We are probably safe to barricade loudly a couple hours, then after 2 hours barricade quietly so that's what I should do, being the carpenter. I'd immediately send everyone else out to investigate all the store locations and just to see what they have. Maybe we can find one with weapons early on and breach it before dark, and hopefully pick up a shotgun or rifle. Maybe even send two strongest people directly into a breach of a smaller store since there shouldn't bee too many zombies yet.

So far, we've had four games in this LP, and every single one of them has featured a librarian. Jaseun, laclongquan, Lindblum, and now Utarefson. If the game after this gets a librarian too, I might just go ahead and bring back all the librarians for an all-librarian run :troll:

1. Moribund + Alicia search location
2. Dick watch zombies
3. Yugo patrol outside and report back (no attacking of course)
4. Utarefson, well I guess cooking or something. Otherwise he would just hinder the other people. Another option would be to let him spot and Dick helps searching or patrolling

When house is searched go to the warehouse and after that to the shop on the left. After that to the house left from the shop and to the Hotel. After that bank to secure., but we should recapitulate before.

Sounds that alright?

I guess Alicia will hold back all zombies with her charming personality alone.
:troll:

Spread some rumor.

EDIT: Would be funny if librarians had a secret luck modifier

Oh and Dick is a police officer, the oldest, the best relations and has all the uberstats. I guess that makes him the natural leader of the group.

Well, as Dick and Moribund seem to be the most useful but also despise each other... this should be interesting.

I won't vote every update, but I suggest using Dick for searching, patrols and sniping as priority. He can also lead breaches and assaults, and help with the clean-up of corpses when need be.

I don't suggest putting him on barricade duty, he should probably be handling the guns for now since he can snipe.

also, Utarefson looks like a total fucking stoner loser. fuck we need to offer him up to the piper ASAP. librarian shall be sacrificed if we have any choice.

Sorry for the delay, guys. I've been trying to figure out this weird graphics glitch thing where the photos of custom survivors don't show up. I've tried the diagnostic tools, but nothing works. Do y'all mind if the photos are nothing but black squares? The bloodsplatter effects are still there, though. (Yeah, I sent the guys on a suicide breach run just to check it out. Most popular weapon: bare hands, baby!) It won't have an impact gameplay-wise, since you can still see the names, but still... should I go ahead with the LP? Or tinker with it some more?
Anabanana.. i understand that is stupid question.. but did you tried to re install everything???

shit i didnt saw that you solved the problem.. ignore this shit

It is not as fun if you cannot use custom portraits, oh well... Make Yugo investigate before reporting back.

I'm going to give you all a little bit more time to come to more of a consensus, because right now your suggestions are all over the place. If you don't, I'll just try to combine at least one suggestion from everybody into a coherent action plan, though I can't guarantee that it'll be pretty. All right?

i understand that is stupid question.. but did you tried to re install everything???

Oh lol... I was going to try that eventually if nothing worked, but then Morkar reminded me that I could just use the in-game portraits... thought it might be fun to show them off for at least one run.

Alicia is a hate machine

She's a man-hater trapped in a sausage party, what do you expect? (I do enjoy how she's explicitly designed to piss off as many people as possible )

Ok, I try to make some consensus:

1. Moribund + Alicia search location
2. Uta watches zombies
3. Yugo and Dick patrol outside and investigate the warehouse north

And some rumor would be good.

Spread a rumour that will make Dick and Moribund more friendly. As the two most competent survivors ATM animosity between them could make or break the group.

Maybe better to defuse Alicia first when it's possible to spread a rumor that can up the relationship towards more than one member? She's on a critical level. And after that Dick and Mori? But doesn't matter how, it gets amusing anyway.

No, I want to barricade and there's no need to make a big search. That's filler work beyond the first one hour (where you'd get any rescue notes), you can do it any time, especially if we choose to stay here. It's much better to do it somewhere where there's supposed to be weapons.

And alicia hates me so she should always be doing stuff alone (since she's an athlete and hates everyone she should be our main investigator).

2. Uta watches zombies

There's no point right now, not for a few hours. In the first hour we could easily investigate some more stores and it's more important to barricade and trap (though we have nobody who can trap well).

3. Yugo and Dick patrol outside and investigate the warehouse north

And some rumor would be good.

but we need weapons right now, and probably won't find them in a factory (factory is good for engineer/modify and we don't have anyone who can do that so factories are lowest priority, though clues can be anywhere). It will say in the description what we can expect to find, and at least one of the stores will have weapons. For mere investigation it should be safe to send just one person to a store at hour one even if they have terrible stats like our librarian.

The game doesn't seem to be too kindly for people barricading on one spot. Being on the move seems to function better like the other lps showed. And the starting house here doesn't look like such a good location either though I think barricading is pointless.
Then let's go for the shop primarily and Uta searches the house here (and finds hopefully some meds)?

Opinions from others?

ironyuri

Guest
well, we could make for one of those houses in the top left, one of the houses in the middle of pol station, university, etc, OR go straight for the hotel.

any of those would be central to several high priority targets. if we assaulted or investigated the hotel we might do alright at this early stage and use that as a base of operations.

You can always leave after you barricade a bit, and probably will want to eventually. But you won't get far blindly breaching anything, especially at night. Some of the stores are also probably the best places to hole up which is another reason to investigate immediately. Houses seem to have 10-18 entrances but some of the small stores only have 6.

Later on you won't be able to investigate much without a lot of risk, but we need to have at least one palce that's partly secure by nightfall or it will be constant fighting (and no good weapons).

Any of the special locations are probably suicide until we get some better weapons and more ammo, too.

ironyuri

Guest
Why don't we trap this house up a bit, investigate the store next door (send Dick if need be with the handgun or crowbar) while the others finish searching the current house and all the rest? That way we secure this spot, and open a new spot before tomorrow morning.

edit: wait it's 6 am what the fuck are you talking about Moribund? we have a whole day to do whatever the fuck.

finish searching this house then go back to what I said in previous post.

Traps > barricades.

Traps are silent, Barricades pretty much will attract zombies even on slowly (with a chance to fail)

Morkar Left

Guest
Search this house then go to the store. Finding other weapons and some meds should be a priority. Barricading will only be a waste of time here, especially if we attract zombies. Traps would be an alternative but we suck at making traps and use the manpower better by searching for other stuff and investigating. I think after we all are in the store we can depending on time decide if we move on or start to barricade there for the night. After that I think we should move from house to house looking for clues and ressources towards the hotel.

We don't have anyone who can trap so it's a waste of time unless we decide to stay here long term. It only should take me 4 hours to get house barricaded. 2 loud, two quiet. After that we can search the house and make traps or breach somewhere if we find a store with a weapons cache.

We can search any time we are here. It's waaay down on the priority list. Later on I wouldn't send anyone to investigate alone but we could investigate every single store right away with no prob while I make some barricades.

edit: well, whatever. Do what you want then  I'll go investigate store in NW corner by myself, be back in a few hours.
