I'm surprised The Codex didn't comment on a pretty significant change that happened in the Wild Magic Zone. Zhe surely would have noticed no longer being a cis-gendered elf male.

1/ I seem to remember a Cursed Belt of Gender Changing being somewhere in this game.
2/ Our heroine goes back to an area of wild magic and casts spells on herself until she reverts back to being a hero.
3/ Codexia forever.
Look at the bright side, now nobody can call you out for violence against women.
This is what I call slughtering the competition. Literally.
Cat fight! Cat fight!
You have actually ascended, from a run-of-the-mill internet hero to a strong and independent female protagonist. This transformation will make you more noteworthy than slaying a thousand foes.
Unless you cry yourself into a corner because of your 12 Charisma. I mean, you could ignore this before, but now it probably is constantly on your mind, right?
IHateYouSoMuch.
All the alu-fiends dropped something like this, by the way. The succubus was even worse in this regard.
Level up!
It seems I have forgotten to screenshot the other level up screen - oh well.
Do we know where this one leads to?
Nope.
Great...
Wait, I've been here already!
By the way, lawful good characters can get a pretty cool sword here, but The Codex does not qualify.
Maybe this one will lead to a new place.
Fuck.
This place is fucking annoying! I want something to kill, right now!
Yeah, you'll do.
In hindsight, I screwed up here somewhat. Being chaotic neutral, The Codex could have accepted a quest from Tahazzar or Ka'rashur (whichever is chaotic) to kill the competition, and get a bit more XP (and unique loot), as well as show off some more content. Damn.
Now you shall die, like the vermin you are!
Two dead demons is not a bad start.
Let's trim some more fat here...
A good imp is a dead imp.
Yes, but...
...imps are not the problem here.
My liver! I need that back!
The main question here is: do we have another Mordenkainen's Sword available?
Death count: 315
Load game.
They are going to pay dearly for this.
You go, girl!
Shut the fuck up!
This is quickly becoming my new favourite opening spell.
Let's see how they deal with THIS!
What's the matter, Karashur? Are your claws too dull?
How the fuck...?
It seems like bone fiends' scythes are not magical. Who could have guessed.
I like how The Codex lies two meters away from his gear her dress.
Death Count: 316
Loadingo.
That was fucking unfair.
Worry not, we all know you are struggling hard to overcome your womanly weaknesses. I am sure it will be better next time!
Fuck. You.
They want to play rough? Let's play rough.
WITH ALL MY POWERS COMBINED I SUMMON THEE, DARK PLANETAR! BRING DOWN YOUR VENGEANCE UPON THE NON-BELIEVERS!
That is somewhat overly dramatic...
Yes, slay my foes!
Fuck, I need more manpower.
Hey, what's go.... WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO US!? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?
Womanpower, you mean? Even the planetar is female, as far as I know.
Not pictured: fallen planetar healing The Codex on the brink of death a moment earlier.
The Codex kills off Ka'rashur, but not before the demon's (devil's?) final strike destroys the planetar.
We did manage to get rid of bone fiends, so we should be fine.
I am not talking to you.
Getting a YASD at this point would be stupid, so...
Just a lazy afternoon of cornugon hacking...
Oh yeah, I hate you guys too.
This is not the best timing for that protection to wear off!
Fuck! No! I refuse to die!
YES!
It would be hilarious if the imp killed you, but I am glad we are done with this.
And I have to dig in demon guts to get such crappy treasure.
I guess this is the jackpot...
Good, I need these.
And here are the demon guts themselves. Classy.
You are not getting me that easily.
I guess this would be a nice find... if someone came here naked.
Dual level up! Getting stronger!
There will never be a better opportunity to use this one.
And contrary to the previous dual level up, we get two HLAs this time (?). Not that I am complaining...
We get Smite and Comet.
Sounds like an Ankh-Morpork company name.
From now on, we will cut straight to the new areas, because commenting on getting lost in the maze gets old quickly.
I smell demons.
Maybe you are pregnant? I heard the sense of smell develops in that state.
Maybe you are an idiot? I heard it's incurable.
All these Blood War rejects make me want to play Torment again.
I actually remembered these guys are summonners and need to be killed as fast as possible...
...but I did not remember we have Wave, which would insta-kill fire elementals and salamanders.
Not a big problem. You're still an idiot, though.
Oh yeah, I forgot there is actually some goal to reach in this dungeon. Whatever.
Uh... This way.
Another wild magic zone?
Who the fuck are you?
And they immediately turn hostile. Fuck this shit. Why did they even have blue circles in the first place!?
Time out! Time out!
Your life has ended in the wasteland.
Death Count: 317
Gaming the load.
And I can't even backstab them, because with your inane rules they are 'non-hostile' initially!
Whoa there, you do not have to go all PMS on me.
Since they are mostly close-range melee fighters and no tactic is too cheap for us, we will fight them from this spot, because that will limit the number of concurrent enemies to two.
Mwahahaha! Slaughter!
This approach works quite well...
...up to a point.
Death Count: 318
Reloading.
Ok, this is just retarded. Fuck conservation of resources. I want them dead.
Fine.
Let's use plan codename 'Dead Dragon'.
Hey, fucktards! Catch me if you can!
Owned.
Casting spells is forbidden.
Think you can hide from me?
I see EVERYTHING! Uhm... including your buddies, who apparently were preparing to backstab me.
Why don't you lie down?
Gotta dmire their resolves to continue fighting even when they see their allies gibbed into small meat-chunks.
I spoke too soon...
He was fast, but not fast enough to outrun arrows.
I bet this guy would be a much more effective party member than Haer'dalis.
We can start taking bets on how many healing potions I will still have when this game ends.
I still have no idea why they wanted to kill me. Not that I care now.
Uh, north?
We could use the Yakman's journal, you know.
Nah, fuck that. I know you are are mapping this as we go, because you are OCD like this. Am I wrong?
...No.
And we will get where we have to go sooner or later, exploring everything on the way?
Yes.
Fine by me.
A cambion? Haven't seen one of those in a while. Should be a piece of cake.
In case it is not clear - these tree demon knights appeared right after The Codex attacked the cambion.
Well, fuck.
I didn't sign up for this!
I promise we will die much less on the next level.
Death Count: 319
Load.
How do we deal with this?
You stop sucking and kill them?
I really shouldn't be doing this without any buffs.... CHAAAARGE!
And he's gone. I just can't work in these conditions.
There you are!
So, that's done at least.
His friends pack quite a punch, though.
Luckily, I have a well-tested way of dealing with them.
Any more challengers? No?
Let's go, then.
What the fuck is going on here?
So, this is a demon and a wraith at the same time. How does this work exactly?
My sixth sense tells me I should not kill the slave wraiths.
Yeah, this is Neb child-killer all over again.
I HATE THIS FUCKING SPELL!
At least we can easily deal with it now.
Shit, this place is fucked up.
Oh, come on!
Death Count: 320
Fuckload.
I think I have stepped into one of traps when I was approaching this fucker.
Yeah, I did.
NowYouDie!
Why am I dealing so little damage? Is my sword not magical enough?
No more playing hide'n'seek.
Oh, for fuck's sake!
SCARY BLACK SHADOW MAN! GO AWAY!
Oh, come on, show some balls, man!
WAAAAAH!
Oh yeah, I forgot...
So it has come to this...
Death Count: 321
Load, load, load!
I should have a fear immunity spell tucked away somewhere...
You can do without it.
IAmGettingASenseOfDejaVuAgain.
No more of your bullshit protection from magical weapons!
Yeah, fuck off.
All these corpses remind me of, well, everywhere I go.
Nothing new.
Still nothing new.
Shit. I knew priests could not be trusted!
We need to confront them about this as soon as possible, by which I mean the next time we are near and remember about this, so not for two more updates at least.
Ooooh?
I like this legend.
North!
Seriously? Another Cambion? This is getting ridiculous. At least this place looks somewhat different.
I am not really interested in your life story.
That sounds... interesting, actually.
Keeping our poker face.
FRIGHTENED!?
You are so easily manipulated it hurts my brain.
tl;dr: Aesgareth wants to game for the exit using Deck of Many Things. We can agree or just kill him.
Let's try the game first.
I can always get more experience.
I have no idea what a spectral brand is, but it sounds interesting.
Strife? But which one, the original FPS, or the MOBA?
Oh, wait, it is that kind of strife.
Triumph? Is that better than mine, or what?
A bunch of fighters teleport in, but they are easily defeated by Aesgareth and his party.
I can understand hatred towards teleporting people just fine.
Awesome.
And a level up too!
A dancing sword? Nice?
Let's get rid of this slow thing now.
However, our dispel does not work.
But we have other means to deal with this problem.
AndDone.
DoIHaveSuchMeans?
Maybe?
Aesgareth is struck with a pillar of fire spell (I can never remember what it is called? Flame strike?)
HeyIWonAgain!
However, this 6 strength state is unacceptable.
Wait!
Okay, how the fuck did that happen? And when?
FuckIfIKnowButItIsGoodToBeMyselfAgain!
We still have the strength problem to solve.
The Codex knows the right spell, but does not have it ready at the moment.
Luckily, we can rest here without problems.
So that's done.
Let's not forget my level up.
We are still increasing all thieving skills, because I want to be able to use them also when The Codex is wearing heavy armour.
We have most of the HLAs I want at this point, except Improved Alacrity, but we can take that one sometime later.
Let me prepare for the inevitable difference of opinions with Aesgareth...
I think he is cheating at this.
I mean, I have no way to tell what any of these cards do, or how high a suite they are...
Yup, he's cheating.
This screenshot is very weird, because The Codex moved away from Aesgareth as far as possible and fog of war kicked in.
Fuck you, demon-boy! I am getting that gem one way or another.
There, wilt down a little.
Stop using up potions I could loot off you!
Fucking with The Codex is like playing with fire!
And they're still not dead.
I guess I'll have to get a little bit more involved.
All these spells which The Codex's enemies cast during Time Stop usually do nothing due to his magic resistance and saving throws.
And with the ultimate trolling spell, I'm ready.
The fell cat... fell.
It's cute like they think they are real spellcasters.
Want to see a spell that actually works?
Well, ok, it didn't work as well as I expected...
Any more pets I can kill?
Thanks for coming by!
Let's see if this spell is still as disappointing as ever...
Yup.
Meh, my trolling protection spell has expired.
Mwahahahaha! Slaughter!
Dispelling my stoneskin!? Eat steel!
You guys should really give up at this point.
I guess, I would still kill you, so it doesn't matter.
LOOOOT!
Aesgareth's party mostly drops generic mid-level stuff.
But there are a few exceptions.
Well, since Robe of Vecna still exists in this world, this is useless.
I doubt I can use any of these.
Not that I dislike healing potions, but I really could open an alchemy shop at this point.
This must be Aesgareth's corpse.
Maybe I can use these to play solitaire later on...
A-HA!
I hope the next level will be less annoying, or fuck this place.
You should not worry about that.
Next time: The Codex will visit a place where even treasure chests will try to kill him.
Oh yeah, that definitely sounds less annoying.
Watcher's Keep fourth level is already finished. Doing the fifth level without finishing the whole place would be kind of pointless, so the two options available are:
1. Finish Watcher's Keep
2. Kill Bodhi
Vote now!
We are now taking bets on how many healing potions will The Codex have at the beginning of fight against Amelyssan. Only the two 'high-end' types of potions count. I promise not to sell any of the found ones, but also not buy any (unless we run out at some point... which will not happen).
Bet one number (total number of potions) only. Bets will be taken at least until the start of Throne of Bhaal (maybe longer). The winner will be the person, who posts the closest number and will receive a special reward (which will probably be completely worthless).
To make evaluation easier, as of now, after finishing third level of Watcher's Keep, The Codex owns 60 healing potions.
