sad that the only set for the next year that looks cool enough to play is the space sci fi one
why can't they just like.. have cool set themes instead of lame ones

i just quit standard. can you imagine the gall of making the only good 1 CMC removal spell Cut Down and then giving every one drop prowess or heroic so they can just pump and negate it while killing you on turn 2? that's like something i would do as a joke to make a fifth grader cry

draft is the only format worth playing and even then they only put out maybe two 'decent' draft sets per year, the rest being unplayable trash; and we almost never get a 'great' draft format these days
if u wanna play a constructed game play yu-gi-oh, much more fun and the devs aren't pozz'd

also a new pokemon mobile card game just came out that's pretty good

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
Pokemon is way simpler than MTG but it at least maintained it's creative coherence.

MTG had been doing one stupid decision after another, focus on Commander, adding Universe Beyond in the first place, then dragging it into Standard.

But it was only logical conclusion. MTG would never be as popular as Pokemon as it's not aimed at kids (at least it wasn't). This means there is less merch etc. Dragging normies into MTG with UB was a good short term idea, although it hurts the core of the game.

The only format is either playing draft from specific sets, or Legacy with sprinkle of homebrew. People already are saying they will proxy the fuck out of old cards and play home with friends instead of succumbing to new.

MTG is dead. Press F to piss on the grave.

they're so fucking stupid, all they had to do was make each Universes Beyond a separate set that was intended to be played as a standalone product instead of letting Optimus Prime fight Gandalf

Lol magic. The last time I spent money on Wotc was in like 2017 or something. The writing was on the wall already, as each set was more pwoercrept, less creative and the worldbuilding and flavor was already moving into Marvel wannabee territory.
