Mass Effect 3:

>New writing direction

>Focus on combat

>Origin Required

>Devs wasting time developing multiplayer

You know what, I'm making my own ending up.

Sovereign died. The Reapers never got the alarm clock they needed. Galaxy saved.

Mass Effect 2 & 3 never happened.

Am I the only one who feels this way about the first two screenshots?

The woman seems to have been deliberately given an androgynous appearance.

It's probably a good marketing/psychological trick to appeal to a) female players playing a male Shepherd, b) male players with a "both-ways" preference for men and women, c) the hetero male players and d) players who want a transgender companion. I am not trolling, quite serious here. I really suspect her appearance is a good way of appealing to the broadest audience possible, in a single stroke.

(And yes, the root of my suspicions lies in Alan Moore's Watchmen!)

No, she looks completely female. Female jaw, female hair, unzipped top to show her cleavage, 2 perfectly spherical breast, and stupid dress life uniform, wasp waist and I bet if it showed under the knee, she would have heels. She's completely Bio-fem.

This is androgynous

THAT is not androgynous.

I am curious, though. Who is that chiseled guy in a muscle T-shirt?

He looks so stereotypical and funny, that he seems straight out of a Vin Diesel movie. But funnier still is that he is totally out of place in a BioWare game, given that BioWare has produced effeminate, soft male characters like Carth Onasi, Canderous Ordo (he breaks down into regret and shame over his life of battle at the end of his personal storytelling), or that Carth Onasi elf in the Hordes of the Underdark campaign.

When did this highly muscular, strong silent type start showing up in BioWare games?

Hes the new character that ''represents new players'', jason sanders or some shit. My guess is hes a character to draw in some of the cod crowd

I(irrationally) blame RPG codex for this mess. At least you guys should have blasted this farce from the get go.

The tick means she's been possessed by a Reaper. Or she could have a medical condition. Which is it? Can you trust her? The choices and consequences will never be the same.

I haven't read the whole of this thread, but you guys know that some (or perhaps all) of these options relate to the new multi-player part of the game right?

Especially the first screen (Action mode, RPG mode etc.).
Er, no...it's confirmed that Action Mode, RPG Mode, and Story Mode are part of the main game.

Action Mode = make my dialog choices for me
Story Mode = make combat stupid-easy
RPG Mode = I want to make my own dialog choices

That's basically it.

Well then MAYBE you should refrain from trying to reduce my enjoyment of the game and say something useful about the leak instead :smug:

I just hope Ashley is killable in ME3, just like all your squadmates were in ME2. Because, honestly, that's the most humane paragon thing one could to to her after the Biowaritis.

It's ironic because I'm currently trying to finally finish my years-old Baldur's Gate save. A game full of imaginative and lenghty dialogue everywhere you look.

Yeah how about fuck you

second mission from beta leak

goty 2012 :smug:

So... male Shepard sounds worse than ever. Mordin's new voice actor sucks and this totally broke the character from ME2, turning him into generic Salarian #5543.

The guy playing the game was trying to kill some guy with the omniblade, and that took him three attempts to finally kill the guy since it was not properly registering the melee hit...

And lots of cameos from the previous games for no good reason other than "oh look biowareh gaems has conitnuity!"

I now expect nothing but frustration and derpy moments out of this game.

I cringed when Garrus literally introduced himself with a cough. Who the fuck is the market for this thing?

Codex, enlighten me: what is wrong with giving the lesser gamers the ability to play a pre-defined path?

New Vegas already did that with the Hardcore mode setting. Real gamers never thought about turning it off and the game certainly wasn't worse for including said option.

But hardcore mode was a dumb idea. I only used it because otherwise ammunition would be weightless which is beyond retarded.
