Mass Effect Legendary Edition remaster trilogy

Still barely any footage which isn't a good sign.

ME 1 had that shitty early UE3 renderer so it had some really hideous sections. A new lighting pass should do good work however. What's interesting is if they re-render the battle cutscenes or make them realtime.

ME 2 was the complete package as far as using lightmass and decent cinematography. Don't know what they could do to improve it short of rebuilding all the assets.

ME3 was a half game filled with half finished levels and set-pieces and the studio phoning everything in. There's no rescuing that catastrophically ugly game.

ME1 got improved the most.
More like butchered the most.
Dark and oppressive atmosphere that sets the mood perfectly for what's unfolding? Nah bro, just lens flare and light shaft that shit up. The retards hyped for this shite will eat it up like there's no tomorrow!
Fuck this shit. Originals plus a ton of mods are the real deal.

110GB hard drive space lol.

4K textures take an absurd amount of space, it's normal.
the real problem is the price, you might as well just play ME2 and 3 with that mod that upscales textures.

Judging from the new trailer, it looks a lot (and I mean a whole lot) like the MEUITM + ALOT + ALOV mods.

In fact, the 110GB is quite suspicious, considering that the three original games with the aforementioned mods require, guess what, 110GB:

Will Bioware pull a Tali portrait again with this remaster?

Still barely any footage which isn't a good sign.

They will slap post processing all over the place with the likes of ENB and the highres texture mods and call it a new game. Knowing BiowarEA, though, the "remake" of ME1 will most certainly butcher the game and transform it into a buggy mess.

Three things that stand out. The price, the debatable filters and lens flares they've slathered on top of everything, and the requirements. If I decide to get it, I'll wait for it to drop to like 20-25 euro. Most ME1 sections with the filters look worse than the original. How is that even possible? And I feel like the requirements are bloated? Are those recommended specs intended for 4k? 110GBs for 3 full-length games with DLCs isn't unbelievable, especially since they are already 110GBs. As for whether *that* is possible, it's probable compression has advanced far enough to allow that now.

Someone already put together some comparison shots:

Looks worse than the original. MEUITM + ALOT + ALOV does a better job in keeping the original art style, illumination, lighting effects, etc.

Why is there a piss filter on top of that image? And that lens flare is causing me phantom pain. The bloom is also out of control.

So if it's just going to be filters and no upscaled character models we won't see an increase in the visual quality of the SFM porn, then?

I have no interest in this unless they fix the story in Mass Effect 3... but Mac Walters is a doofus and Bioware is now an empty, talentless husk, so that obviously won't happen.

According to this thread here, Pinnacle Station didn't make cut, since the source code is missing.
Pinnacle Station is a really shitty non-story DLC so nobody would miss it.

Would be funny if they just payed of some modder to use their stuff. So all this talk about "we were thinking this, doing that" were all fake.

So for 60 bucks you are not even getting the complete package.

It's true:

Which means that this will never be a complete remaster of the originals. Better keep your original games backed up.

$60 is a big ask. Gonna wait for release.

That ME1 remaster though. ME1 has always been the biggest thing preventing me from playing the trilogy all over again.

Does anyone know if buying on Steam will still force you to use Origin?

IIRC, Pinnacle Station was a barely supported shovelware that was outsourced to some external studio. A bit like the Diablo 1 Hellfire expansion.
