Weird episode... makes Sir-Tech sounds as a very passive company, doing stuff just because they got lucky to have David Bradley and Guido Henkel arriving at their doors.

What's scary is how Matt eats up what Sirotek says without much critical thinking... He clearly got very impressed by hearing about retailer abusing their bargain power (I graduated in marketing, so I'm biased, but I was pretty sure it's something people were aware about - Wallmart and Amazon constantly are on the news doing that), and took that as answer to all the problems that plagued gaming in the 90's, and even reason why VtM: Bloodlines was buggy...

Also, next episode is about Cleve!
:yeah:

He probably didn't know that Cleve and Michael are to this day still working on a remake of the game they were subcontracted to do by them more than twenty years ago.

Matt's gonna Matt

Yeah, I wouldn't hold my breath.

I haven't watched this episode yet, but I take it he didn't ask why Bradley actually had a falling-out with Sir-Tech? I tweeted that question to him, but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't go through with it, not to mention the Stones of Arnhem stuff.

Matt himself said the next episode is about Cleve. ;)

The timeline stopped at Jagged Alliance and Wizardry VI, so I expect the next one to cover Wiz 7, Stones of Arkheim + Cleve, Bradley leaving and a lot of drama... if Siroteck don't handwave stuff, we might get the most amusing and informative Matt Chat episode ever.

He'll talk about this but we probably won't hear anything interesting, just something like "the project didn't go anywhere due to evolving technological requirements and production problems so it was cancelled" and "Cleve was a talented and colorful worker but his personality was hard to work with". So far although it has still been worth watching he's been just about the blandest interviewee to appear on Matt's show.

I didn't know that Sir Tech Canada was based in Ottawa though. It explains why they were able to get some Quebecers to dub some of their voices.

Maybe, but Sirotek seems to be enjoying this chance to tell his version of the story... I think he'll elaborate on it, even if just to frame it in a way that frame him in a positive light.

I am more confident ina Grimoire release that these questions will be answered, if made at all.

Well, this was definitely the most informative and entertaining episode. Cool that he did talk about Stones of Arnhem instead of going all *censored* on it.

The "Dunno what knocked that guy's nose out of joint. We were just being businessmen" part made me laugh. The "project going nowhere for an eternity" bit and the vaporware comment are good too, as are his comments on the drawings. :5/5:, would watch again.

He entered into more detail than I thought for sure.

Based on his comments, it looks like Cleve was largely correct about his assesments of the Australian team's ineptness, hubris, and extremely dubious tastes dooming the project from the start.

Sad if true, but I guess it's understandable, that part was somewhat uncomfortable to watch at times. At least a few of us will have had the chance to see his take on it if this part is edited out when the video is posted back. And yeah he should be commended for having been frank contrarily to some others. In my opinion it's worthwhile to have this side out of the story out there.

Also I was surprised to see they still have the rights to use Wizardry I to V, and apparently to use the name Wizardry. I doubt they could find qualified developers to make that kind of game though, so I think we'll have to look to Cleve and Charles-CGR for our blobber fix.

Haha, I should've downloaded it. Oh well - and just after I made the comment about him not going all *censored* on it :P

Though let's hope it's just been temporarily taken down to fix the technical issues.

I think you should make a blobber.
