Loved the first, couldn't get past the cringeworthy beginning of the second (does it get better or is there more of Ivan's "pliiiiz Max, healp me"-typo of lines?). The 3rd looks good enough, but then I took a look at the system requirements so it's either Max Payne 2 or no Max until I get a bette machine (probably in 5 to 10 years).

Man... Steam removed MP1/2 free from preorder and slapped down LA Noire instead. I'd rather stuff my dick into a bullet ant nest.

I lack the wit to put something hilarious here
If it was like MP1/2, everybody would cry that it doesn't bring anything new to the table. Juist more of the same. Now, that they changed direction, everybody of course cries nonetheless.

I must say, well done on arguing against an imaginary group of people you just created. I'm sure I'd be pretty good at that too.

And to address your tough, thought-provoking arguments: Nobody wanted them to change direction. When people think Max Payne, people think of a noir game set in New York with bullet time. That's what Max Payne is about. They even had a Hollywood movie around that core concept. That's not a hard concept to fuck up. You could put in a lot of new stuff and keep that basic framework intact. People expect new things in a sequel, but by "new" they don't mean "PUT IT IN FUCKING DAYTIME BRAZIL."

And now you're trying to justify liking a series rape with shitty excuses everybody uses. Hey man, if Fallout 3 was just like Fallout 1 and 2 people would just complain that it was more of the same! They changed direction and everyone goes BAAAAAAAAAWWW! Stupid little brats, nothing's ever good enough for ya, go back to your waaambulances.

Remedy, the creators of the first two have seen and played Max Payne 3 and have given it their blessing.

Also, the most recent games Rockstar have made (GTA IV & Expansions, Red Dead Redemption, Bully) have all been excellent. LA Noire was made by a different developer, Rockstar only published it.

I'm really looking forward to this.

No doubt, they made a shit-ton of money when they sold the rights to MP. Like seriously, some people there don't really need to work a day in their lives anymore. And of course they like it, Rockstar are their buddies and they're continuing their game series. And even if they didn't agree with the game's direction they would never publically come out and state that.

And what they think doesn't really matter, the customers end up deciding what is and isn't a worthy sequel. Based on what I've seen, I certainly don't think so. It might be a fun game, but it's no Max Payne.

They didn't get that much, maybe enough for two games at the most. If they didn't like the game then they didn't need to say anything. But they came out for it strongly.

I don't want it to be another Max Payne game in the vein of the first two, the first two were pretty shitty and it was only bullet time that stood them apart from other shooters. MP2 was an improvement on the first but it was still pretty dull, just shooting shooting shooting whining about wife shooting. This looks more varied.

So I finished it.

It was ok, but the combat is very repetitive and gets very tedious very fast. The pretty good narrative (expected from a Rockstar game, Dan Houser is a p. good writer imo) was really the only thing that held it together, well, besides the massive budget, but who on the Codex really cares about massive budget values?

Multiplayer gets the job right but if you want something more than another shooter-fest look elsewhere immediately.

Started installing Max Payne 3 through Steam.

It is a 30 GB game. It will take 48 hours to install given my internet connection speed. Since I don't keep the computer on for more than 2 hours a day in order to save power during peak summer season, I'll be playing Max Payne 3 in three weeks.

Once the game is installed, I'll forget I even ordered it in the first place.

Are you really that dumb Skyway? You wouldn't have thought of the possibility that they actually use a better optimized, more modern version of RAGE, no? Are you just pissing and moaning around for the sake of it? Don't you have any friends, or why is it you always seek attention?

Am I wrong in believing that the required HD space for Max Payne 3 is abnormally high? Say, Skyrim - supposed to be a huge game and supposed to be unoptimized - was 6 GB or so. Even Crysis, which had huge maps with extreme detail, was no more than 16 GB.

But 30 GB is pushing the boundaries here.

Probably a bunch of un(or barely)compressed audio and those uber textures.

I had to uninstall Shogun: Total War to accommodate this game. I really hope it will be worth it. With the 80 GB hard drive that I have, this is going to be eating up nearly half the space.
