Players probably much too hardcore, but I'm gonna try to play it. This remake should have the original MGO, all the maps on PS2. Was one of my early multiplayer games.

Just played two matches in MGS4 PC, did terribly. Everybody performing precise headshots with their controllers.

The move to shooter in MGS was lame. Don't like that starting in MGS4 you have to aim the gun with L1 before you can shoot, since the shoot button (R1) is also the melee button. MGS3 controls with primary actions on face buttons more interesting than staring at back in MGS4/5. Fight me.

Using aim bots, of course.

And there is also that there's a fairly wide circular reticle, a generous hit zone. At least when I played on PS3. Konami had to compensate for how utterly shit the controller was for shooters. I learned that if enough of any part of their head landed within the ballpark of its center, and I tapped the trigger at a certain tempo to control muzzle rise, I would get headshots fairly reliably from any range. It becomes fairly easy to eyeball it. So on PS3 with that technique, there's a good chance Ezekiel could have headshot the rear guy in that screenshot. Also funny that that was my one of my main maps and weapons for doing so. SVG was also a king, hit hard and was easier to control.

Konami Says Remaking Metal Gear Solid 1 Would Be Harder Than Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
Konami has said remaking the first Metal Gear Solid would be much more complicated than its incoming remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

In an interview with Famitsu translated by Genki on X/Twitter, Metal Gear Solid series producer Noriaki Okamura didn't shut down the possibility of other remakes but made clear they wouldn't be coming anytime soon.

This is because a remake of the first Metal Gear Solid, alongside the original two Metal Gear games released for the MSX2 and Nintendo Entertainment System, would require the creation of many brand new elements.
Remaking the third game as Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater (officially Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater), was seemingly much simpler, and previews for the game have already noted that it's practically a one-for-one remake with little deviation.

"Metal Gear Solid Delta seems more like a very shiny HD remaster than the elegant remake it could have been," IGN said in our preview. "It’s an admittedly beautiful nostalgia trip, but almost faithful to a fault."

Okumara said Konami is currently considering the next steps for the Metal Gear Solid franchise, which has been somewhat dormant since the departure of creator Hideo Kojima, but will wait to see what the reception to Metal Gear Solid Delta is before deciding on next steps.

Konami is seemingly focused on preserving the heritage of the series instead of expanding its storyline further, however. "Before everyone who was involved in the original is gone, we need to create a path to preserve the Metal Gear series for 10 or 50 years into the future," Okamura said. "I think this is something we have to do."

It's already doing this somewhat via the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collections, Volume 1 of which bundles the first five games including Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater.

Volume 2 is in the works and will be released with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots included, bringing the otherwise PlayStation 3 exclusive to modern platforms.

They should remake Ghost Babel like Square Enix('s hired external developer) remade the third Mana game. Virtually nobody in the west has played it due to the retarded decision to rename it as though it were a portable port (so it might as well be a new game to most people), its got the classic cast, and Kojima barely did anything on it so people can't claim his legacy isn't being respected.

MGS was already remade on Gamecube. I don't know why it would be so hard now.

I don't like how they've relocated the health bar to the lower middle part of the screen.
It's probably to accommodate widescreens users
It's fine as long as they have a robust UI configuration screen (which honestly, nowadays there's absolutely no excuse for AAA and AA games not to have it)

From my interpretation, The Boss was supposed to be somewhat androgynous, with masculine facial features but feminine--compassionate and motherly--eyes. There's the risk that such nuances get lost when you convert characters to HD, which is anything but simple; not merely an update, but an entirely different style, which requires reinterpreting the original content, like doing a translation. I assume this isn't being done by Westerners who want to turn her into a genderfluidsquid. Those last screens look off, in any case.
Yes
The Boss character design is troublesome
She's not meant to be "attractive" in the conventional sense (that's EVA's prerogative)
She's firstly meant to look like a capable and experienced soldier
And like you said she must also possess an element of motherly beauty
But she's also more than this to Snake - EVA even asks him at mountain safe house "What was she to you? Mother? Lover?" to which he replies "She was more than that"
On top of it all, there's also her tragic past to consider (lost both her son and husband in sacrifice of her duty)

Because if they were to remake MGS now, they would have to switch to a standard 3rd Person Camera, instead of the over the top view
But doing that would require for all levels, plus enemy AI and patrols to be remade
And they know that if they do that, they will get an endless barrage of fan hatred

Imo it would be more interesting to reimagine the first MG, that one is rough but has plenty of potential which makes it perfect

I played through the first Metal Gear last year. It was fine. Why would I want a remake over a new game? A remake that will break the narrative, graphical and gameplay progression in complexity of the series. People are just gonna keep asking for more remakes until the whole series basically plays according to the same, single modern standard. Konami should be finding creatives for new games.

My impression from playing the original MG games ~20 years ago was that the first MGS was already essentially a remake of these games.

And then MGS2 was in some ways a remake of MGS with the whole S3 program that put Raiden in a scenario modeled after the Shadow Moses incident to produce a perfect soldier. It's funny. Again and again.

When MG was made, it was just a prototype hide-and-seek videogame with a plot derived from 80s action movies
There was no idea or intention for it to become a major videogame franchise with an overly complex sci-fi worldbuilding
But that's what the series as become
And MG in particular sits uncomfortably at the junction of Big Boss and Solid Snake adventures
There's alot of overaching plot threads that game has no connection with, despite being crucial to the series as a whole
And these obvious plot holes have so far been excused for the simple fact that MG was the first game
But a reimagining would open the door for that to be dealt with once and for all

To be honest, this is the only one of the recent rash of remakes/remasters I'm remotely interested in playing. Imo only games that are mechanically Thick and Rich are worthy of replay*, and MGS3 was moreso than SH2, Dead Rising, Dead Space, etc. I only finished it once when it came out, and I was a bit broke at the time so I foolishly traded it in to get another game.

*also arcade games, which are mechanically simpler but make up for it by being challenging and precise.
