When I first encountered pickle and got that cutscene where the useless fuck ended up on its back and she was screeching at me to help, I just stood there and watched for about 10 minutes in the vain hope that pickle would eat her or something. Eventually she got free and ran off. Such disappointment.

Just played for a bit after I took a little break from the game. They really managed to fix the mouse controls, it works flawlessly now. Performance is still terrible though (and probably much harder to fix).

Details on Upcoming Updates
5 October - WBacon [capcom]
First and foremost, thanks everyone for providing both positive and constructive feedback on Monster Hunter: World.

Upon releasing the Autumn Harvest Fest Update, some fans have inquired about the status and release timing of Kulve Taroth. We wanted to assure everyone that it’s being worked on right now and we’re aiming towards a release sometime in early November barring any unforeseen issues.

We understand fans are eagerly waiting for this update and ask that you wait just a bit longer while we put our finishing touches before she greets you all. Thanks for your patience!

———————————————

As for the next Title Update, we will start incorporating certain features and tweaks that many fans have asked for. Below are a couple of examples:

Texture Streaming Functionality
During character creation and in-game cutscenes, textures weren’t always loading the most optimal quality setting. This will be addressed.

Improved keyboard controls
Keyboard setup will be further optimized by revisiting key assignments for certain actions.

We will let you know as soon as we have a firm release date for the next update along with details of the bug fixes, tweaks, and feature additions. Please stay tuned for more information.

Rest assured that we will continue pushing hard in delivering the best experience for our fans. Thank you for your continued support and feedback.

The PC version should have launched with Jho, Kulve and Lunastra in. According to the console update page, Lunastra was introduced on May 31, they had time to add these monsters to the game.

Capcom fucking botched this port in all ways possible, good grief.

I'm surprised G rank wasn't announced at TGS. Capcom probably didn't expect the game to do well and never planned to make a G rank expansion.

I mean it was kinda impossible for it to fail.. They released it on every major platform at a time when people were dying for dark souls IV.

I'm surprised they haven't come up with an expansion or something

Pretty much all-cleared the game in April and have waiting since. Apparently they're pumping out content for the Switch game for some reason though.

At least I have this

waiting for the GOTY edition. No idea if I'll like this, having never played a MH title before...maybe during the Spring sale?

1b9640581fdb110d92b0d158382ae97325de4682.jpg

The third title update including various bug fixes will be released on Tuesday, October 30 at 13:00 (UTC).
More details will be posted at a later time.

"Appraisal weapons" will be rewarded for completing the siege, and you can acquire new materials to forge and upgrade equipment, as well as the "Bushi Ticket" for your Palico equipment.
Note:
- The siege can only be accessed after progressing to a certain point in the story.
- The siege will be available at different times in the future.
- "Character Edit Voucher" will be available on the Store, allowing hunters to edit their gender and appearance.

Additions and Changes:
- "HDR Mode" added in the Display Settings.
- Various keyboard setting adjustments, including different key assignments.
- A new shortcut key option which allows players to use keyboard shortcuts (any number key from 1 to 8).

SteamCharts put MHW on PC to 5mln.
About 40% of that number is from China.

It is fucking weird that console updates with monsters completely stopped as there were supposed to be like 2 new monsters.

Me thinks after noticing it was such a success they scrapped their original plans and they are probably working on G-expansion bigger than they predicted in first place and they want first for PC version to hit parity before announcing it.

Man, this game...

Went for a hike in the Ancient Forest. It was a rainy night, which meant I couldn't see shit. Anyway, was gathering mushrooms in peace when a Rathian appeared. Despite my crap equipment and horrendous fps, I took the risk and fought her, managing to wear down her health enough for her to flee. I quickly caught a ride to her nest by hooking onto one of those flying dinos and then we duked it out once more. She critically missed and blasted the dam away, causing a massive landslide. I got out of the way in time, but the Rathian wasn't so lucky: she was killed by the torrent and her corpse was carried away by the waters, only to be found at the base of the giant tree.

It was beautiful.

Don't worry, next time the dam breaks it'll be because a random rathalos flew by and nuked it when you were planning to use it to your advantage.

The lack of variety really hurts this game imo, mechanically, i think this is the best MH game. Plus the lots of QoL improvement much needed in the series, but there are like 5 monster skeleton, all with really similar movesets, but different elements, minor shape difference.

I still actively play this, like 3 or 4 times in a week, but once in a while, i come back to MH4U to hunt some weird monsters like seltas queen, or nescrylla, and stuff.

I thought the old games would be obselete, but it seems until world gets proper expansion, content similar to 4U or GenU, will keep popping the old one occasionally.

At least in their defense, all the handheld/last gen games have similar level of graphics and they probably reuse alot of assets across many games, while in world, they have to make everything from scratch.

I lost interest in MHW pretty fast and haven't really played it at all since I beat it. I came back to slap Joe's shit but really, I've killed Joe so many times now before. Mechanically the game is good but it didn't really offer much in the way of monsters and I didn't like the new armor skill system.

Didn't you play it for like 200+ hours?

EDIT: Never mind, I was thinking of Blaine for some reason.

Anyway, I've got about 120 hours in it and still am enjoying it quite a bit, but I only play it a couple times a week usually. It's also my first real playthrough of a MH, so that might keep it more fresh for me. Love the game, though. Ton of fun.

I probably got 40-50 hours from MHW. There was nothing to keep me playing longer since it lacked challenge and enjoyable monster variety.

On Tuesday, October 30 at 23:00 UTC, we released Title Update 3, which includes some bug fixes.

Major New Content:
- The Autumn Harvest Fest will be held again on Wednesday, October 31 from 00:00 a.m. to 23:59 UTC.

- Kulve Taroth Siege
This is a limited-time special siege, available from Friday, November 2 00:00 a.m. UTC to Thursday, November 15 23:59 UTC.
This siege introduces a new monster, Kulve Taroth, which you will have to investigate with other players through an Online Session.
After completing the game (at HR 16 or higher), you may find Scattered Gold Chips during expeditions or optional quests. If you harvest them, the Admiral will appear in Astera, and you will be able to start the siege by talking to him.
All players in the Online Session have to work together to completely break the giant horns of Kulve Taroth, an elder dragon with a glittering coat of metal.
The Kulve Taroth Siege quest Banquet in the Earthen Hall requires a party of 4.
The more parties join the quest, the higher the chance of completing it. When one of the parties repels Kulve Taroth, all players in the Online Session receive a reward corresponding to how many research objectives they completed during the siege.

Materials obtained from this quest allow you to craft the Kulve Taroth α and Kulve Taroth β armor sets for your Hunter, and the Kulve Taroth Set α for your Palico.
Appraisal items obtained during this siege quest may contain random weapons.
Bushi Tickets let you create the Felyne Samurai Set α for your Palico.
New layered armor series: Bushi "Homare" and Bushi "Sabi."
Play the Banquet in the Earthen Hall quest to unlock delivery requests for each part of the Bushi "Homare" and Bushi "Sabi" series.
The Kulve Taroth Siege is only available for a limited time, but we plan to bring it back regularly in the future as well.

- From Wednesday, October 31 00:00 a.m. UTC, you will be able to purchase the following DLC items:
Character Edit Voucher: Single Voucher
Character Edit Voucher: Two-Voucher Pack
Character Edit Voucher: Three-Voucher Pack
Each of the above items can only be purchased once.
If you have more than one character, the voucher will be consumed as soon as you use it on one character.
Hairstyles, eyebrow color, facial hair, makeup, and clothing can be changed without using a voucher by going to the item box in your room.
You cannot change the name of your Hunter, or the name/appearance of your Palico.

Major Additions and Changes:
- Added HDR Mode to the display settings.
From the main menu, go to Options and select "Screen Mode / HDR Setting."
This option is only available on Windows 10.

- Revised the list of actions available under "Keyboard Settings" in the Options menu.
You can now set Interact, Speak, Gather, Carve, and Special Attack to separate buttons.

- Added "One Key Keyboard Shortcuts" to Options.
On:
Press a shortcut key (any number key from 1 to 8) to immediately use the shortcut for the most recently used radial menu.
Off:
Press a radial menu key (by default, any key from F1 to F4) to bring up a radial menu, then press a shortcut key (any number key from 1 to 8) to use the shortcut.
This is only displayed in the Options when "Radial Menu Type" is set to "Keyboard."

- Added "Start Menu Player Movement" to Options.
When "Start Menu Player Movement" is set to "Off", the player movement keys (WASD) are used to move your menu selection while the menu is open.

Bug Fixes:
- Fixed a bug preventing 43 titles that were available in the console versions from unlocking in the Steam version.

- Fixed a bug that prevented certain textures from being loaded optimally during character creation and cutscenes.

- Fixed a bug where stars wouldn't be shown at night.

- Fixed a bug causing error code 83-MW1 to occur. A message will now only be displayed when the connection to Steam is actually cut off.

- Fixed a bug causing hair to clip into the character's mouth when equipping Brigade Lobos, Brigade Lobos α, or Brigade Lobos β on certain hairstyles.

- Fixed a bug where the "Cannot take rewards because your item box is full" message would be displayed even if the item box was not full when using the "Take All" function at The Botanical Research Center.

- Fixed a bug at the Elder Melder where, when changing the number of materials and then cancelling using mouse controls, the number of items would not return to the previous value and remain the same as before cancelling.

- When using keyboard settings, assigning any key other than the default key to Browse Items Left and Browse Items Right for ranged weapons would result in items not scrolling when the key was held down. This has been fixed.

- Fixed a bug allowing some actions to be performed that would otherwise not be possible by simultaneously pressing a function key and a number key for the custom radial menu when using keyboard settings.

- Fixed a bug where text overlap would occur when using items with long names on the custom radial menu when using keyboard settings.

- Fixed a bug where the game would get stuck on the "Creating a new Online Session" message when trying to create a new Online Session.

- Fixed a bug where players who joined an Online Session after you would not have their primary group names and icons shown on the player list.

I beat the main campaign and am wondering what weapon variant I should go for now (Dual Blades). I read a lot of good things about the Decimation Claws made from Nergigante materials. I don't want to craft all Dual Blades to always have the optimal element handy, some weapon that works equally well against most opponents will have to do.
