The fact that you can grind the poor monsters in the Guiding Lands and cart an infinite number of times is pretty hard decline I must say. In other news:

Title Update 2

Coming March 12 — Stygian Zinogre, Safi'jiiva, and much more!

Title Update 2 releases on Thursday, March 12, 0:00 UTC, and will include new features and bug fixes!

[Major Features]
■ "Stygian Zinogre" added to the game.

Quests that feature Stygian Zinogre can be unlocked by talking to the Seeker in Seliana after (1) having beaten the game and (2) having unlocked the volcanic region of the Guiding Lands.

- New Stygian Zinogre hunter and Palico equipment have also been added!
- You can also obtain a new weapon pendant, Stygian Zinogre Claws, by completing all of the quests given to you by the Seeker.

■ "Safi'jiiva" added to the game.

Take on the "??? Recon" assignment from the Pub Lass in the Gathering Hub to begin the investigation. The ??? Recon is a special assignment that can only be posted or joined from the Gathering Hub. This quest can also be done multiple times even after it has been completed.

- At 0:00 UTC on Friday, March 20, the Safi'jiiva Siege will become available. This special quest challenges you to slay Safi'jiiva by working together with the other hunters in your Online Session.
- New Safi'jiiva hunter and Palico equipment have also been added!
- "Awakened weapons" can also be obtained as rewards from the Safi'jiiva Siege.

■ "Tundra Region" unlocked in the Guiding Lands.

[Major Additions]
■ Numerous changes have been applied from console Ver. 12.11/12.11.00.
- Improvements to sword & shield and dual blades mechanics.
- A tempered version of Ruiner Nergigante will now appear in the game.
- New layered armor.
- New items available to meld at the Elder Melder.
- New "Weapon Pose" added.
- New Seliana room decor and BGM added.

■ In order to prevent the Steam overlay from unintentionally impairing gameplay, the Steam overlay no longer appears automatically when you receive friend requests during gameplay.

■ The VRAM Usage window in the options now has a more obvious display to warn you when you are trying to use DirectX 12 with 3.50 GB of available VRAM or less (at least 4 GB of VRAM are required to enable DirectX 12). This is an interface-based change that does not affect VRAM usage.

■ A new "Swap Keys while Grappling" option was added for mouse & keyboard controls. This allows you to unify the controls for "Weapon Attack" and "Flinch Shot" when grappled to a monster with the Clutch Claw, which otherwise may not match the controls for your current weapon after switching between melee and ranged (since the controls for "Weapon Attack" and "Flinch Shot" are based on gamepad controls).

■ A new keybind option was added for "Quest Return Selection" for melee and ranged weapon controls. The default setting is [Tab]. Changing this keybind allows you to set other controls, such as opening the start menu, to the [Tab] key instead.

[Featured Event Quests]
■ Safi'jiiva Siege — March 20 to April 22 (UTC)

Note: You must complete the "??? Recon" before you can post or join the Safi'jiiva Siege.

[Bug Fixes]
- Fixes from up to console Ver. 12.11 have been applied.
- Fixed an issue where guild card info would no longer update after failing to retrieve the guild card data of a player on your guild card list who has not updated to Ver. 10.12.00 or later.
- Fixed several camera-related bugs, including one where the camera would stutter if you moved your mouse very slowly.
- Fixed several key-binding-related bugs, including one where the subkey assigned to a mouse button would not work when both the main key and subkey for a specific control are both assigned to mouse buttons.
- Fixed other minor bugs.

While you can cart infinite amount of times you can't cart that much because monster will just run away. Each cart increases chance of monster running away.

Really? I was in a Tempered Teostra hunt recently and people were fainting a whole lot. Guess we were lucky.

According to people into the modding scene, the exe was changed to block dll injections so could very well be a side effect. A possible solution is to add the exe to the anti-virus exception list, which begs the question of what the heck is going on with a supposedly innocuous executable... Denuvo shitware and spaghetti code, a match made in hell.

Anyway, about the update itself, the SnS buff is indeed very very good.

Got one of those "rare ore spot" random drops at the beginning of a quest, however the hunter jumped face first on top a pile of dung (geez louise). Seconds later, the Serious Handler mug appears and she's like "hey better grab these rare materials!"

So smarmy, almost thought she channeled the Guildmarm. Impeccable timing.

I think whoever wrote the notice meant layered armors. Or are there layered weapons?

Edit: Wait, it's correct. The initial batch are the iron/bone weapons and the second batch are the unique models.

I think you need to finish Iceborne at least. I know that some master level sets are tied to the arena quests and others unlock as to defeat end game monsters. I'm not sure if others are tied to overall ranks or quests.

Edit: Many of the common and high rank sets are tied to hunting monster in the guiding lands, since you will need to farm them for the parts to make them.

Whew, what a disappointment Iceborne turned out to be. Calling the quits after the Velkhana fight, don't wanna even bother with Shara whatisitsname. IB unfortunately highlights all the annoying base MHW bits I turned a blind eye to and adds annoyances of its own. Lemme unleash my wall of text on you.

To begin with, clutch claw is too much of an integral mechanic to ignore, unlike the mantles. I keep aiming for a specific spot and grabbing another, so I either let go or waste stamina maneuvering. In addition to that, the wound inflicted by the CC doesn't last long so there's the constant need to reapply it if you want to be efficient and this ruins the pace of combat, which used to flow well enough in the base game. Fuck whoever came up with this, the mantles were enough of a gimmick. Give me solid, nonsense combat and varied monster behavior instead.

Another peeve are the constant roars, motherfucker either shows up just to roar, interrupting w/e I'm doing and then promptly leave the area or the monsters enter a roar contest. Odo, Brachydios and Banbaro are the worst offenders, I've had them roar 3+ times in a row, good grief! Earplugs 5 is a must. This is a specific behavior introduced by IB, the base game was never this obnoxious.

About the monsters, Velkhana is a poor elder in general, a cross between Kushala (which has been ruined in World and is pure trash) and Legiana (ice Rathalos aka shit monster). Viper Tobi, Coral Pukei and Fulgur Anja are all great takes on their respective species and reasonably fair and fun fights. Was nice to face the old gang too, Barioth being hands down the best encounter in the game 'cause there's no bullshit to it. Narga has been nerfed, in the FU/3U days it used to keep you on your toes. Glavenus is alright besides his jump+perfect tracking to double slam you with his tail. Zinogre is a step down, even the howling was downgraded. Tigrex is okay but he's never been the same since monster stamina was introduced.

Of course, following true hand-holding modern gaming syndrome, you cannot freely explore the new snow area because Capcom want you to follow the retarded story they worked so hard on. Wanna skip the cutscenes? Tough luck, you'll watch it and you'll like it.

Oh yeah, still cannot get over how the sieges were all turned into mmo trash. Long gone are fights like Jhen or Gaoren. Capcom learnt nothing because Xeno was turned into a siege and Master Rank Kulve is a thing… oh joy.

On the technical side, game was working fine on my potato but once the Safi update hit it started to stutter and freeze for a few seconds. At this point the MH team should just ask the people behind the Devil May Cry/Resident Evil ports to help. Denuvo is also a very bitter pill to swallow.

To end in a less negative note, the tailrider mounting feature is a blessing to quickly traverse the maps without following the gps scoutflies, it's specially useful in the labyrinthine Ancient Forest. Even better is to be able to sharp your weapon of drink a potion on the go. Another good point was the power axe mode of the Switch Axe, it finally realizes the original concept of constantly changing between sword and axe modes. Charge Blade remains the chadiest of the weapons, tough.

tl;dr To whomever may be interested in the expansion, buy it at a generous discount.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Title Update 3 - New Variant Monsters and More

Iceborne's most explosive update yet!

Gather 'round, hunters, and see what's being served up in the next free title update for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne!

[New Variant Monsters - Furious Rajang and Raging Brachydios]
To access these two new superpowered brutes, you'll first need to complete Iceborne's story and complete the special assignments that fully expand the Guiding Lands and investigate the mysterious Red Dragon. Following that, you'll be asked to speak with the Tracker, who will give you two additional special assignments: Furious Rajang and Raging Brachydios. These two monsters won't go down easily, but the rewards will be well worth the fight. The Furious Rajang armor has a fierce, primal style and the set bonus enhances a very appropriate skill called "Heroics" that grants you bonus attack power and defense rates if your health drops below a certain threshold—a burst of "furious" adrenaline that's bound to help in a pinch!

The Raging Brachydios armor also comes with set bonuses that match the monster, empowering various explosive attacks. Its weapons radiate with style and feature the monster's signature 'active slime' look. Good luck, hunters—you'll need it!

[New Additions for Your Room]
After a long day of hunting, kick back and relax in your room with all new paid DLC including various decor options and new background music options to play on the music player.

[New Guiding Lands Tool: the Banishing Ball]
The powerful new "Banishing Ball" item can be used in the Guiding Lands to drive any pesky large monster you'd like out of that expedition session. Expect the unexpected and pack a few of these on your next Guiding Lands run. Please note that only the quest leader can use the Banishing Ball.

[Upgraded Level Cap for Master Rank Armor]
Go beyond the current upgrade limits for master rank armor sets! The new cap for armor upgrades will vary based on your set's rarity, but will allow for some to go all the way up to a whopping level 20 should you be upgrading set that is Rarity 12.

[Layered Weapons System]
Much like the layered armor system that allows you to keep the stats of your favorite set while giving it a fresh new look, we're also introducing a new system called "layered weapons" that lets hunters do the same for your weapon of choice! Please note that the "layered weapons" system will be rolled out across the next few game updates starting with game version 13.01.00 on April 9th, and more options will be added in the upcoming updates.

[Steamworks Output Options]
A couple of changes have been made to the Steamworks this time around, including the ability to change the Steamworks' output, options to activate the "auto mode" after sending the Steamworks into Overdrive, and also allowing rewards to be collected on the round just before a Steamworks Overdrive.

[Improvements to the Hunter Helper Feature]
We're expanding the "Hunter Helper" system to cover even more players than ever before. In addition to getting rewards for helping newer hunters through low and high ranks, players can now receive rewards if you help master rank hunters who have a lower master rank than yourself. Master rank assignments may net you some Carved Feystones, while other master rank quests may reward you with a King Armor Sphere.

[Other Updates]
- Many new pendants have been added.
- Some extremely powerful charms have also received another upgrade tier: Fury Charm V, Power Charm V, Mighty Charm III, Challenger Charm V.
- Minor bug fixes and optimizations.

Shit, because Capcom fights with cheaters they went on crusade to destroy dll injectors. Which means easy way to mod game is out and you need to use loader and worse of it all it destroyed support for VR mode via VorpX i was using.

Shieeeeet...

For those who don't know MHW was one of the best VR games via VorpX as everything worked perfectly and with great performance.

It requires VorpX which is about 40$ software but it works well. Here is short presentation of VorpX. VorpX support varies from game to game. Some are awesome some only have fake 3D via Z buffer but overall imho it is worth it. Game list of VopX supported games. G3D is what you want which gives you stereo 3D in best form.
