PC.IGN has posted a preview-kinda about the sequel to Knights of the Old Republic. The most important thing, of course, is the bit about Obsidian Entertainment being the ones making it, instead of BioWare:

A logical action to take after such success is to start planning the game's successor, and apparently, KOTOR 2 is under development. A few sources have already reported that the sequel has been greenlighted for a late 2004 or early 2005 release, and that the game's storyline - which is to take place many years after KOTOR's --will include a completely new cast of characters. But what few people are aware of is that the game is not being developed internally at BioWare, but in Orange County at Obsidian Entertainment. (At least that's what we hear.)

Hell, if that's true, my hope for a decent sequel just went up a notch - here's to hoping it's something along the lines of the mechanics of Planescape: Torment.

Ha! Knew it.

Not that it was amazing feat of deduction, really.

And ah, that kind of sequel. Only a few things in common, but keeping the title, because customers are stupid. And if they don't see one of the handful of words they recognize, they get all confused and panicky.
Which is amusing to watch, frankly, but it might affect sales.

The Obsidian label is going to confuse them enough. Though half of them will assume its made by Black Isle anyway...

hey

MCA and furgus haven't been involved in a good game for over 4 years, I'm pretty sure they forgot how to make one.

Owned by Obsidian. Take that, Pooper. You know, more people need to take stabs at each other on these forums. It gets rather old having everyone (including myself) just taking stabs at Voluorn and his ridiculous need to defend NWN addiction.
