It's amazing to me that Bethesda would just silently watch this happen and do nothing. Todd Howard is amazingly clueless.

Is it good for your income, i.e. skyrim sales go up? Then fund this fucking thing, throw some grant money at them. Gives you free PR, by the way.
Is it bad for your income? Then shut it down - softly, by offering them jobs with an NDA.
But do something. It can't possibly be sales-neutral for your company.

This disdain for mods from companies is irrational. Start assisting modders who are trying to make you richer.

Todd will send a cease and desist a few months before it's ready, then announce Morrowind Remastered for PS8 and XBox Series XOneX.

Maybe something from 10 years ago. Fact of the matter is that you need like 3 mods to look better than Skywind. Skywind looks like plastic and something is wrong with world lighting.

Companies have always had this attitude towards projects like this. Remember Blizzard with DOTA? They gave zero support, never interacted with the dev team, ignored it completely. It was just about 'tolerated'.

Then Valve turns it into one of the most successful multiplayer games of all time and suddenly Blizzard is pissed and seeking legal action, suddenly they seem interested in doing a MOBA themselves... Fuck you, you ignored it for over a decade, you don't get to suddenly take an interest.

It's always ignorance and a complete refusal to have a vision for the future until the future arrives and starts being successful and then suddenly they want in on it.

Not that Skywind is going to be particularly good but just saying this is the general attitude towards passion projects like this.

Let's not confuse Blizzard with Activision-Blizzard.

Never mind atmosphere or lighting. Why would you want to play Morrowind with Skyrim's UI and mechanics?

Something is off with the lighting and colors. Modded Morrowind legit looks more atmospheric than this.
Morrowind is actually a very colourful game, despite its reputation for being grey and brown. Modded Morrowind tends to bump up the saturation even further thanks to changes to the lighting, as well as the view distance increasing, getting rid of the pervasive grey fog. Even with a short view distance, using MGE XE, the "fog" is now more of a blue colour with the atmospheric scattering option enabled. Morrowind also has a sharpness and sense of visual clarity which this mod lacks - everything looks muddy. It feels like there are filters upon filters changing the original colour of the textures.

Just a hilarious contrast. Why would you place these next to each other in the video?!

It could still fix the one issue with Morrowind that is not fixable with the original engine: The absolutely static world and NPCs.
