Not to mention Obsidian. If their deal is still valid after Atari's collapse, they might be getting royalties from this.

Not sure how it works, but the way that GoG mentions Obsidian/Hasbro in the 'developper' tag (and not Atari) seems to mean that Obsidian is getting something.

Too bad I already have it on Steam.
I already have it on steam (so it was in europe), but i am almost tempted because 1°) it's Gog, 2°) there is MoW.

I just bought it because a) It is easier downloading the GOG install then installing NWN2, updating it, installing MotB, updating it, installing MoW and b) It has the MotB soundtrack, which I've always wanted.

Hmmm, interesting. If I recall correctly at some point in the past it has become impossible to buy a legal copy of Mysteries of Westgate anywhere since Atari didn't sell it anymore and other DD services also scrapped it from their catalogue. I might buy this pack from GoG just for Mysteries of Westgate, although I already own NWN2 and MotB.

I bought MoW when it first came out from dlgamer.com. A few years ago I was reinstalling NWN2 and found my download link for MoW had expired. I emailed them and a few days later they got back to me saying they had given me a new link - and it worked. I now have the MoW installer backed up on my HDD so I haven't had to go back there. I don't know if it has been removed from my account and I can't be bothered to look.

I don't get the flack against SoZ. Gameplaywise it is vastly superior to both MotB and OC (MotB is coll too but when I think of pointless encounters and boring gameplay I lose all the Steam I'd need to replay it).

SoZ had some good innovations, but the content was pretty boring. Most of the dungeons were as tiny as they were unimaginative ; the trading system had no relevance to the plot and became pretty boring after a while ; the plot itself was pretty basic ; few encounters/places were interesting ; the atmosphere was very weak.

Now the phenomenon of MoW is ssomething I don't understand. It was pretty boring, IMO

Well, for one thing, it didn't have any pointless combat, which makes it fairly unique among CRPGs.

I suppose some would get it just because you get the whole thing DRM free. No missing bits, no disc checks, no Steam watching over your paranoid shoulder and judging you...

Publisher: Hasbro so that is probably why all the other NWN2's were pulled from other sites.

Also the DRM was removed with the last patch for NWN2.

Bloody GOG grabbing the last dollars out of my wallet.
Maybe I'll actually finish SoZ some time then.

Overpriced.
I agree.
Even with the expansions, it's too high. Especially considering it's 5 dollars off.
Not if you happen to live on the wrong side of the ocean. It's 11,25 euros and that's not that bad of a price, considering it includes MOW. Gaben would ask 15 euros from us and 15 dorra from Kwanzanians without batting an eyelid.

er I should have more correctly stated, it removes the "check for the DVD in the drive" check when starting up the game (in the original you had to have the ^%$#%$ DVD in the drive before it would start up every single time you wanted to play).

The same way any other piece of code can be changed.

I just checked, it is.

Just as well, the original patching system was utterly awful.

The current patching system updates to the latest version without those endless incremental updates that you had to download before.

It really was, especially when installing the expansions - apparently with some people, it told you it was successfully patched, but it wasn't. Anyway, another advantage that GOG has.
