I wasn't intending to troll. It's a well-known Codexian Lore fact that racofer detests the way NWN2's camera works, but I admit that maybe I shouldn't be discussing it so casually here in News.

My bad.

MotB is one of the finest RPGs ever made, mainly due to the excellent writing, and weird and wonderful setting - finally a modern D&D game that isn't on the Sword Coast. The spirit eater mechanic is a retard detector, stops you exploiting the game mechanics like resting, and gives actual gameplay consequences to acting like a monster (instead of just butthurt NPCs and ending slides).

I've only played MoW once but I remember enjoying it a lot, there were different routes through the game and different endings depending on your choices, IIRC.

NWN2 OC is not as bad as the Codex makes out, well worth a playthrough at least once - and be sure to import your character into MotB.

I refused to buy SoZ.

I actually preferred SoZ over the OC, it was a much more fun experience.

Your ignore list.
How's the camera?

Bad, but somewhat manageable now in exploration mode.

It still pisses me off that some objects wont fade out and allow you to see through them. This is something that NWN1 had and it made playing the game much less frustrating.

Still, I play some mods on it from time to time as I can't stand it for extended periods of time.

There is no NWN2 Diamond Edition. You must be thinking of NWN1.

I'll grab this the second to last day. Got to finish some back log.

I just bought it because a) It is easier downloading the GOG install then installing NWN2, updating it, installing MotB, updating it, installing MoW and b) It has the MotB soundtrack, which I've always wanted.

Pretty sure the soundtrack is in OOG format in the game's directory.

Games should drop at least $10/year until a maximum of $10; expansions should be gratis if considered at all.

Morality check: if I actually own the originals, is it acceptable to acquire the GoG version for its improved install/patch experience?

Well I'm glad it's finally somewhere online but since I already own the Platinum Edition I'll just get this on sale later for MoW. Also does GOG have something against bundle deals or do publishers just not do them on GOG?

If it prompts you for a serial key (haven't bought anything with one from GoG) and you enter yours, you should be good.

I wanted to play MoB so I bought this even though it's hardly a "good deal."

So I created a wizard. First follower is a wizard. Fucking great. Both familiars died a few fights in. Are you meant to play this as a boring attack-move fighter or does playing a wizard become more viable later on? Do I have to conjure tank pets like a fag? If so, for how long?
Spending a fucking hour leveling the wizard was bad enough.

Everybody cums buckets over the writing but so far I'm not impressed. I feel like the writing is pretentious and confusing. Will this improve as you're eased into the game or will they always try to be cryptic and poetic?
The voice acting is truly shitty. I think I'll turn it off.

As someone who played NWN1 way back and quite enjoyed it, but for some reason never found the time to play NWN2, is this bundle worth the $$ and the time to d\l on a crappy internet connection?

Not really. But it has great Character creation + MoTB + Best implementation of DnD skill sin SOZ.

Wait.

You are loosing as a level 18 Wizard??????
I died once because I ran out of spells because I couldn't be arsed with the resting fade-out and fucking random sleeping encounters. Other than that it's quite easy. Chain-lightning does a silly amount of damage for some reason.

My problems is this: It's tedious as hell to micromanage two wizards with this UI. The F-button (quick cast) only shows a handful of memorized spells (and never the ones I want to use), and dragging spells to the World of Warcraft-bar can suck my ass. If it's possible to up-scale the UI, perhaps this is something I'm willing to do. As it is now, I can hardly see what spell is on my bar anyway without mouse-over.
It's not a matter of the game being challenging per se, it's a matter of the interface and campaign's design fucking you up the ass if you play a wizard.

Just leveling the wizard in the pre-campaign lobby was tedious as hell. I will never understand the appeal of high level D&D.

I thoroughly agree.

High level DnD is pure shite. Just live through it for the sake of the story. Build a Barbarian class with Human and give him Frenzied berserker.
Yeah I guess this is what I'll have to do.

I don't mind micromanaging shit if it's fun and rewarding. In this game it's not.

Damn, I've already bought this game and the expansions (except MOW) twice. Once at release and then I picked up the platinum edition on dvd for twenty bucks.

Is MOW any good?

For people who have bought this:

How is the installer packaged? Are the expansions separate installers and if so does anyone know if the MOW expansion could be applied to an existing non-gog installation?
