When did you all became such unbearable unbelievers? This game will deliver. And it will do so here in this thread, soon...

Thought that I was reading Grimoire thread for a moment.

Well, NMS release date on PC is this friday, so that's another similarity with thal's magnum opus.

The situation at hand is uncannily similar, in my humble opinion... It won't deliver lulz for years to come but the amount of butthurt will be ginormous.

Remember this scene?

Pretty much what Eagon says, but made out of butthurt energy...

5.1 on metacritic :smug:
Not that anybody cares about user scores since they are written by idiots.
You mean the reviewer scores right? User scores will have a fair share of nonsensical "reviews" but they're still better representative of modern game's quality.
No, the user scores. One of the first ones rates it a 1 because it has low FOV. Dafakk?

Still more informative than a "It's okay 10/10" review.

It's 5.0 with 52 positive and 59 negative user reviews now, moderators must been having a field day. Most actual reviews I've seen are at 4-6 range, rest is 1 or 10 circlejerk that barely says anything about the gameplay.

Hard to know if people really play the game although. That doesnt looks good , anyone here tried it on PS4 ?

Yeah, I did for about 2.5 hours. It's not life-changing to be sure, but so far it's pretty cool.

The first 2 hours I spent wandering around a planet looking for minerals to craft parts for ship repair. First and foremost it is a survival game. If you wander far from the ship (which I needed to do to find a certain mineral) your suit's life support and temperature-shielding both drop (each can be recharged with certain minerals). Ran across some hyena-like, and crab-like critters, one of which was aggressive and I killed it. You can scan lifeforms (sort of like Metroid Prime) to earn money. Now that I think of it, the music and vibe also reminded me a little bit of Metroid Prime. I stumbled on a small alien outpost with a single alien. He taught me a few alien words, and offered to swap out my multi-tool for his. There was a digital trading post there where I could sell some goods. Your ship, suit, and multi-tool are all upgradeable with the crafting. Once I finally fixed the ship and got into space, I almost immediately picked up a transmission from another planet in the system, and headed to check it out. The new planet seems slightly different than the first, but definitely not totally unique. That's as much as I've played so far.

There's a few tidbits in my spoiler tag.

I'll play more today.

Ok nice to get an answer, people playing games on the codex are extremely rare, especially at no discounted price. Tell us if after 5-6 hours it really become completely repetitive and boring please.
