So apparently the combat is more in-depth than it appears. It uses some sort of "card based system" where you pick skills you want available before you enter the combat from the pool you have available. They also say that this is one of the areas they're hoping for community feedback for. Suggest turn-based, plz. :smug:

He also said he dislikes Diablo style click-click-click combat as well as traditional MMORPG combat where you just stand there and spam abilities. So that's tiny incline, anyway. LB seems to have some kind of bro-ism left in his brain somewhere with those comments and the disparaging comments about quest markers/logs/bs.

I dunno. This could possibly end up being good for what it is, ultimately. :smug:

Yet if you watch the gameplay videos on ultima codex, it can hardly be more generic and popamole than that .Some dude clicking on skeletons to attack with sometime a special attack.

Haha, yeahh, his descriptions of the combat seemed to be a world away from what we actually say. I guess maybe you can give it the prototype excuse.

What's with all the "MMO" talk? Garriott says it isn't a MMO. :troll:

Seems like a hybrid MMO to me. Part MMO, part single player. In a bid to please absolutely everyone so as to rake in as much cash as possible. Another soulless game designed by marketing droids. As if we didn't already have enough.

This guy has been doing press/video interviews all day. Man is a marketing machine.

I wonder if there's a stream of that talk at SXSW?

Honestly, I'm all up for something like this being made (but not with my money). It will be nice to see if storyfagging Lord British + 2001 graphics (looks just like Dark Age of Camelot) will result in something new on the completly stagnant MMO world...

Well, everything so far only makes it it look like a larping sim, and "meaningful PVP that also minimizes griefing" reeks of casual.

It's a prototype. The graphics are basically placeholders for now, thus the KS to pay for art assets. Just like all games.

I wonder how my Lord British and his Knights will re-define what an RPG means this generation...

I'm sure it'll be fun from an Amalur perspective but a far cry from the Ultima games (pre-U8)

Are you in Austin, TX? Then join me tonight at SXSW for a special presentation about Shroud of the Avatar! http://fb.me/LxvuC33r
I live fairly close to Austin, I was tempted to go to this event, but I seriously was afraid of the hateful things that might spew forth from my mouth.

Dude totally go! Give us a report. Just try to retain yourself. :D
